I have been going to Eye Care Associates for 30 years and this past year the competence of the new optician has hit rock bottom. From not saving my new order and reordering what was on file using the wrong benefit plan, to telling me that had the benefit reverse and attempting to place a new order they couldn't get it right. After over 3 weeks I gave up. Rodie is stuck cleaning up their incompetent mess and getting my benefits straightened out. I will continue to see the doctors there, but not order glasses or contact lenses at the office. Also, the way the younger staff dresses it appears like they roll out of bed and pull on what ever clothes are on the floor. Their appearance doesn't instill confidence.

I will say that the NP I saw was very good. On a second visit my appointment was at 2:45. I showed up at 2:47. But because I wasn't here 15 minutes early, they refused to see me and the next appointment isn't for more than a month. This is utter insanity. I have to take time off from work to be here. So it's incredibly frustrating when I get here on time and have to wait so long. And nothing short of infuriating when I show up at my appointment time and get turned away. My paperwork is already on file and nothing has changed in the 4 months since I was last seen, so to be turned away for this is beyond words. It's incredibly disappointing that this is the only GI in Flagstaff. We really need another office here so we can get some proper service going. Do yourself a favor and just go to Phoenix instead of this place.

How many no show cancellation fees are they collecting from patient they are turning away themselves? I cannot tell you how many times I have had to repeatedly call to schedule an appointment, only for it to be: a) cancelled or b) to get TURNED AWAY even though I was on time for my appointment but not their arbitrary check-in time. Do not pay for their arrogance, GO SOMEPLACE ELSE. I understand they have a schedule and keeping to it is important, but the abject patronizing condescension that their time is the only time worth consideration shows exactly what they think of their patients.

I always figured they had a good sense of humor, and grasped the irony of advertising that. I get the feeling though, that Flagstaff Eye Care doesn't understand that "Best Eyecare in Flagstaff" isn't the flex they think it is. I mean, if you want the best of last century's technology, go for it. If you like being upcharged for the Optoscan that my last three optometrists offered standard in the price of a visit, help yourself. If you enjoy arguing with the business manager about the bill for walking out because you don't like being dilated, dyed, and numbed, which I freely admit I did, then this is the place for you. I'm a semi-annual user of optometry and I haven't been dilated or numbed in over a decade. All the reviews say the doctors are good, but I never made it that far. The front end of the business is putting up barriers to getting that care, and they need to fix that. So go ahead and book an appointment, but you'll have plenty of time to think about it, because they're booked out about three months, and good for them! After all, it's worth the wait for the Best Eye Care in Flagstaff. Right??

The office was clean and everyone in his office was professional and empathetic. I was so nervous about the procedure but they made me feel comfortable. Dr. T was polite in our first meeting, explaining the procedure. I was in horrific jaw and molar pain and did the best I could to understand his information. I told him I was living on constant Ibuprofen, having difficulty eating on one side of my jaw and constant pain. He had no other offer of anti-inflammatories for the pain with 10 days to wait for the procedure. The antibiotic he prescribed before the surgery gave me 10 days of unbelievably painful mouth ulcers. When I complained, Dr. Tagle told me I was 'lucky' since quiet often the reaction to antibiotics is constant throwing up. Drinking, eating, swallowing, sleeping were all interrupted during the 10 day wait. I also thought it odd that I was charged separately for the consultationwhere, I guess, Dr. Tagle decided I was a candidate. The surgery was a different charge. Perhaps this is a root canal specialist business practice but it was odd to me. His lobby staff were the loudest I have experienced in waiting rooms. I guess they enjoy their jobs but they were raucous for me. The surgery was a nightmare since the root canal was molar #18, the farthest tooth in my small mouth. I could not open any wider during the long procedure and yet I was constantly asked to open wider, told I would need to come back to finish because of the time. That comment filled me with fear that the procedure would need to be put off to another day. Anxiety is even close to how I felt during the operation. Perhaps the tooth position would have been a ghastly experience with a different surgeon but I will never forget the miserable 10 days of open mouth ulcers (thrush) and being told I was lucky. Dr. T did notice on x-rays that he suspected dental decay on the molar. That was true and my regular dentist confirmed that the decay had ossified and presented no further issue.
