What a wonderful, welcoming, communal space!…read more I was invited to perform here by the Zero to Fierce Festival, and the team here has it going on! I worked with Jackie, Joyful, TL, Mobius, and so many other team members; I'm so grateful to have performed my show THE ANTI "YOGI": Liberation, Not Lululemon, at such a supportive space! I was impressed by the community engagement, hunger, and interest to listen/participate/share. The artwork presented inside is beautiful, the space hosts so many types of shows- and it can accommodate a lot of people! It is truly a communal space; hosting lunchbox sessions to discuss the topics with the artists coming in and the radio station is right next door. Everyone is very supportive toward artists and helping artists; they are engaged in supporting the artist however they may need. They display art work/exhibits in the common area and try to bring in diverse stories that need to be heard. I definitely will recommend this place and festival with others! Thank you all to the team, the viewers, and the community! My percussionist, Neel and I had a tremendous experience and very much wish to return again soon. Please check out what this space does!

Live music, community theater, art performances, circus shows big and small, kid's programs and summer classes and a few things I'm sure I'm leaving out. Our most recent visit was for the theater costume clearance sale, it opened at 10 this past Saturday morning - we arrived at around 11:30 and it was over! It is what it is! This also shows how popular this local venue is. This is a great playhouse that supports and helps a multitude of organizations within the local community. Because of the unique nature of this facility it runs hours accord to the event(s) it is hosting at that time. You may want to verify with the event your going for what times, dates, etc. in advance if you're driving in from out of the area. That being said, a great community asset and another cool place to see awesome live music in town. A solid 5 star venue. 00307

The campus is unlike any I've ever seen in that it's basically part of the incredibly Humboldt wilderness. There are redwoods on campus with a forest literally next door, and HSU truly embraces the wild side of things. The facilities are nice for the most part, with several new buildings finished in the past year. Being on the HSU campus is a joy, especially if you enjoy nature.

If you care about your mental health, please don't go here. This is a school where a large number…read moreof the students come from other counties. The students specifically pick Humboldt because they had abusive childhoods or trauma they wanted to get super far away from while still having in-state tuition. This leads to highly traumatized young adults flocking to one area and being on their own for the first time. The bullying, harassment, several mental instability, etc. of some of these students is shocking and almost everyone I know has an extreme story of harassment due to this. PLEASE pick anywhere else. Yes, you may have a wonderful time and get lucky - but this school is far more likely that others to leave you with severe trauma, especially when paired with how highly isolated it is from outside support and resources.

I would check out book after book with no problems at all--lots of books at a time even. I learned more from reading these academic library books than from my classes. Great selection of poetry, too. For instance you can rent out books, articles or scientific periodicals from other California state universities and I was told also order from international Universities. The benefit of being a grad school is that you can have books up to one year until return date is due and rent out their cam corders and camera for an extended period of time . I started off at this school in 2017 and I definitely have seen many renovations through the years including the café, study rooms, tall shelving and interactive group desks, where group members can meet an use a TV to connect to class projects or the Internet. Till this day the library still has a glass case where they display a wide assortment of clubs, issues and events on campus, with nice added touches of regalia/memorabilia! I highly appreciate the fact that this library recycles electronics this can be found at the exit of the library in the main entrance.

This intimate venue, at the top of the stairs and to the left, seats about 900 where some of the greatest musical talents in the world have played and graced this amazing stage and venue for decades now. Beer and wine is usually available for purchase, as are light refreshments. A non-smoking venue. Our most recent concert brought us back to this awesome venue for a show with Ozomatli this past Tuesday evening - This show did not disappoint! The Los Angeles based band has been together for almost two decades now, and it showed in their performance as they smoothly moved from urban latino - to hip hop, to cumbia, salsa and funk. This was an awe inspiring show, for both performers and the audience, as many have been, that I have seen at this venue in recent years. Playing at the Van Duzer theater, artists, musicians and performers all seem to thrive in this special and magical venue. It truly does bring out the best in those who play this stage. The audiences are some of the best in the world, and if you go to a show at this venue, you will find and see that those who do attend are there because they love the music and the artist performing. This in turn translates to the musicians and performers and as such the shows here are always spectacular and amazing in their own right. It does not get any better than this for live music. You can reach the Center Arts ticket office at 707-826-3928 to find out more about this venue and upcoming shows. The 2014-15 season looks to be a great one again, so if you ever find yourself on the north coast, 300 miles in the middle of nowhere and looking for world class music, this is it! A Pure 5 STAR venue. 00086
