I didn't feel like there were hidden costs, but note there may be extra costs for you after they demo the pool, if you are also re-plastering. Caesar and Eddie were very responsive to email and text with any questions and concerns and made sure to come themselves to double check any issues. The team overall cleaned up after themselves and left the job site in good shape. The company is full service and brings the pool "full circle" and provides service to fill the pool, check filters, services the pump, etc after the pool is re-plastered. Work style: I imagine like many companies of this type there are teams of craftsmen that come through at different stages. I was able to get a clear schedule for the demo and the plaster phase, but the pool "startup" was a bit more variable (this mattered to me because we have dogs that have access to the yard, so if this applies to you I think you have to be very clear about hours of availability in advance). It seemed that a foreman would come and check in the team periodically. My only complaint through the whole process was that during the plaster day the crew installed a leaking hose that sprayed all over at the spigot at my stucco house and foundation for several hours, when I finally saw it, I had to draw attention to the crew to fix the situation. Due to how long the process with water takes, if it was not caught by myself it likely would have done some damage to the stucco wall. This was my only real issue over the entire job. Overall, communication was great, the finished product is beautiful, and pricing was fair and transparent. The pool came out looking fantastic.

He was upfront on what would be expected of me and what he would do weekly/yearly. I had no idea what a pool needed. He explained that the pump needs to be run at least 6 hours a day to circulate the water. He would come weekly to test the water, clean the pool and check the small filter (and probably other things I forgot about). Yearly, he puts conditioner in (he explained what it does but I can't remember). A couple months ago, my pool started to turn slightly green. He put some other chemicals in to help it. But it didn't work. So he checked my big filter and told me it needed a cleaning . He and another guy came that weekend and cleaned it. After he was done, he texted and explained everything he did to the filter and pool and what I needed to do to make sure the water clears up. By the next day, the pool started to clear up. Within a couple days, it was back to normal. He's very responsive and helpful. He comes when I'm at work so I usually text him if I need anything or have questions. He speaks English but is also fluent in Korean. Totally hire this guy/company if you need a pool guy!

It was time to replace it with something sturdier and less likely to warp, shrink, fade. I did a lot of research on what materilas would best hold up to the brutal So Cal summers we have. I also had to keep within the Architectural guidelines of our HOA for fences. I found a company in Orange, CA, called SoCal Gates. I established contact with the owner, Ray, who is a really knowledgeable and personable guy to work with. We scheduled an appointment for him to come to our home to show us color samples of the composite material we would choose for him to use in our steel framed gate. Ray arrived, and had us look at the different colored composite samples while he took his measurements. He then went over with us the color choices and which ones would intergrate best with our home's exterior colors, including the tiled roof and front entry door and garage door. He explained how he visualized the gate would look, once mounted. We agreed on the materials and and the price. He mentioned that his installation pricing included the removal of the gate from the cinder block wall it was attached to, but did not include the removal of the old fence post or the haul away fo the old fence. After hiring another fence company to remove the fence post, back fill with concrete and haul away all of the old fence, Ray told he would've done it had I specifically asked him, for an extra charge. In fact, he told me how to remove the old post myself, so that gave me the impression he would prefer to just to install the gate with the old fence gone and the area prepped for his installation. After the HOA approved my gate plan, It only took a few weeks for Ray to build our gate and to schedule a date and time for the installation. On the day of the installation, I watched Ray assemble and install my agte, He is meticulous and thoughtful throughout his installation process. He showed me how to change out the composite planks if I ever needed to, and how to program our electronic lockest. We are very happy with out new sturdy, side gate. I would recommend anyone needing a new steel framed gate with composite planking to contact Ray.

This is my second time using Katchakid (once for my old house, once for my new house) and they installed pool nets on both pools. This is a very professional, courteous company with great communication. Rogelio who installed the pool net was respectful and worked hard to make sure the net fit perfectly. 100% recommend to keep your kids safe and 100% recommend Katchakid. Side note I've read that pool nets are significantly safer than pool gates and I'm not even remotely worried when my little kids 4.5,2,1 years of age are playing in the yard. In 5 years cumulative having these pool nets my kids have each fallen into them probably 2-3 times. They rarely get any water on them and they yell but are honestly in no danger as they always fall close to the edge of the pool - So a 40 lb kid might graze 1-2 inches of water on one part of his/her body if they fall due to tension on the nets. They couldn't drown if they wanted to. I also love that these pool nets allow full access to the backyard instead of cutting off a big portion of my yard with a pool gate. read more

After searching for a viable option to make our pool safe for our grandchildren, I found the perfect solution - Katchakid Pool Net. Maggie drove to our house (1.5 hr one way) to give us an estimate and full explanation of how the system worked. I didn't want a fence because it blocks the beautiful view we have of the valley. The estimate was fair, particularly since we have stairs, a wall, a diving board, and a waterfall. All the challenges one could throw at a company to test their product's safety. I am so please with the communication from Maggie, as well the the seamless installation. The installers were on time, efficient, friendly, professional, and thorough. We ordered one of their safety nets to protect anyone from accidentally falling into our pool. The installation process was quick and the employees were kind and thorough. The net is easy to put on and take off and we are really happy with the way that it looks...so much better than having a fence around our pool. Personally, I prefer reviews to be completely independent, so that raised some concerns for me when trying to evaluate feedback. At the end of the day, when it comes to something as serious as pool safety, I need to feel fully confident in the company I'm hiring. Unfortunately, I didn't get that level of reassurance here, so I chose to go in a different direction. I'd recommend others ask detailed questions about licensing, insurance, and policies upfront so they can make an informed decision. This is a child safety product, it's not worth cutting corners over a lower price. **Update after owners response** Thank you for confirming that you are not licensed. That clarification is important, because in California, a contractor's license is not optional for this type of work, t's a basic consumer protection requirement for projects over $500. It ensures a contractor has verified experience, understands building and safety codes, and carries the appropriate protections for the homeowner. Pool fencing, in particular, is not just another home improvement project, it's a critical safety feature designed to prevent accidents. If you're cutting corners by not having your license I can only imagine what you do with these installations. Sad that we, the consumer are not knowledgeable enough to see what looks right and what doesn't. And I wouldn't trust any of your 200 reviews, offering incentives tied to reviews makes it difficult for consumers to evaluate feedback objectively. Reviews are supposed to reflect independent customer experiences, not be influenced by discounts or perks. At the end of the day, homeowners take on significant risk when hiring an unlicensed or uninsured contractor. If something goes wrong, whether it's property damage, injury, or faulty installation, the liability can fall back on the homeowner, and there may be little recourse. My review reflects those concerns so others can make informed decisions, especially when it comes to something as important as safety around a pool. About a month ago I noticed 2 spots in the deep end where the plaster had cracked and peeled. Not only did Thomas offer to drain the pool, fix the plaster spots, and pay the costs associated with the water company, he personally took time out of his busy day to check the entire pool to see if there were any more spots on the plaster that were defective, there was, and again fixed at no charge. We are thrilled we chose infinity pools in the first place and even more so now that they stand behind their work! Great company, great owners!
