This is a full service photographer, don't confuse it with the mall photo booths. We started working with Kat Mack in late 2017 as we were shopping for someone to do a bucket list photoshoot my wife wanted. Since the shoot involved body paint it obviously had to be someone she was comfortable working with as many of those were fabric free. We met with Kat for a consultation and spent sever hours working on the details for the shoot. Time well spent in the quality of the final product. On shoot day we scheduled the entire day. Kat coordinated with a hair & makeup artist and a body paint artist - we were pleased with both. Kat's assistant also helped with the various housekeeping duties involved with staging and a half dozen wardrobe changes. Our shoot was smooth and well put together, her entire operation was coordinated and adapted to delays as necessary thru the day. Working with her for edits which required multiple iterations she was patient and very accomodating. Great quality takes time folks, it cannot be rushed so keep that in mind and factor into your photo projects. Never used her services but I can say her Groupon was falsely advertised. She states over the phone she charges a min of 600-2500 for family pictures and she just seemed un interested if you aren't planning to spend your life savings. I was contact recently regarding my review from Kat and she asked I remove I review. I am not removing my review. It is my point of view that 1. I spent $120 on Groupon for her services that never stated in the fine print that she would require and additional purchase with a min price of $600 with her Groupon ! Groupon refuses to give my money back so I now have a credit. 2. I feel a three star review now accurate assessment of the conversation and time she took explaining to me that she prefers to work with clients that can afford and are willing to spend and "invest" a significant amount of time and money! I explained I did not use her services as she described her services to not be a "good fit" for what I wanted. That is her right and I appreciate that thank you ! Fellas if your wife is anything like my Honey Bunnie you've taken plenty of pictures with the family through the years. So much so that all of the photos and poses seem to be the same over and over again. When my Honey Bunnie said she wanted to have ANOTHER photographer take pics for our wedding anniversary I begrudgingly obliged. I thought to myself this was going to be another awful experience, but upon first meeting Kat Mack I was first pleasantly surprised by her enthusiasm for her craft. Secondly She gave great instructions as to poses, and selected the best back drops/scenery for our photos. She had previously suggested we change outfits, but due to the lackluster experiences with previous photographers we had declined, but next time we'll be more than prepared for one of Kat Mack's professional photo shoots! Fellas you and your wife/ significant other will be more than pleased with the results and professionalism with Kat Mack Photography! I can't say enough about this wonderful lady! My family and I received a photo session and prints from Kat Mack Photography as a gift for the holidays (December) and (as often happens with busy families) I put it off until the last minute (it's July). I anticipated that this experience would be much like others we'd participated in (scramble to get everyone there, smile, click, pick what we want and we're out)... I was wrong. After our initial conversation and appointment confirmation, I was sent a follow up email with some very cool suggestions for coordinating our family's outfits for the shoot. Our actual photo shoot lasted just 30-45 minutes, but was so incredibly organized and detailed, capturing some incredible shots in a very "interesting" background that they magically made appear as though we were settled on a lush beautiful field...trust me...they create magic with some CrAzY locations/backgrounds! I was asked to send pictures of white, 8.5x11 paper on bare walls of our home prior to the viewing day and did so...when I arrived to the viewing I was presented with not only beautiful images, but beautiful images of my family on the walls of our home, not to mention to music and in a dark tranquil setting that could clearly move one to tears (as has clearly happened before based on the strategically placed boxes of tissue). I decided to work with Kat Mack Photography since she had an offer on Groupon. I had high hopes as I did some research before purchasing her specific Groupon offer. I do have to say that Kat is easy to work with when it comes to scheduling. It took some time and effort to convince my family to take time off to have our family portrait taken, so long in fact that the groupon expired before we could pick a date. Kat kindly extended the offer to my family until we picked a date. Then it went downhill. The shoot itself was fine, but Kat was insistent with having an outdoor shoot. Due to time constraints and unreliable Houston weather, we decided on an indoor shoot with an outfit change but I could tell she would have rather done an outdoor shoot. Then during the shoot, Kat made me feel a bit uncomfortable by making comments about what we wanted our "feel" too be and hinted at an "oriental" feel. As I am an Asian-American and not "oriental" i was a bit offended. I do have to note that Kat did put the effort in making my dad laugh as he typically doesn't smile in photos. Then when I went back about a week later to view the photos, we decided we wanted a book printed. We picked out what photos we wanted to use and told her our initial edits to the photos. We agreed to pay her before receiving our product, which I wish I didn't. After we paid her, she informed us that it would be about a 3-4 week turnaround. After countless emails from both my sister and I to Kat Mack Photography, we ended up waiting 7-8 weeks to receive our final product. We even had to resort to asking for a refund before they did anything to remedy this. Kat did offer to send us a thumb drive with the low-res photos for free, but when I received her package there was an empty thumb drive, leaving me to contact her once again. Her response was that it was crazy on her end with graduations and prom season. I wasn't sure why this was a surprise for her as graduation and prom season should be an annual thing. Also, with knowing that graduation and prom season was upon her, don't promise clients a quick turnaround when it can't be delivered. Overall, the product was mediocre, the service was sub-par and I probably won't be returning to Kat Mack Photography in the future. read more

My husband and I had a portrait sitting with our two small dogs in early December. Kat did an amazing job getting both dogs to look at her at the same time. We did an outdoor location and every photo turned out beautifully. It was difficult to choose which ones to purchase! Kat was great at helping us decide what was most important to us. We now have a fabulous family photo collage on our living room wall. We used some of the photos in a holiday greeting card. I bought a groupon for photoshoot with Kat Mack Photography and our experience with her was very professional. She was very accommodating to scheduling and we received our products in the timeline that she laid out for us. We had such a great experience with her and her staff that we also used her services for our engagement photoshoot. As part of our photoshoot, we wanted pictures of our dogs and Kat worked with us to get our dogs incorporated into the photoshoot. We were worried about the dogs setting in for the shoot but they did great (she did entertain them quite a bit) .She did an amazing job. She had a lot of great ideas for our shoot, we were able to incorporate our love for the Texans and some of our culture in our photoshoot! Kat made the shoot such fun. read more
