I was on the fence about maternity photos but didn't want to regret not having them done - worth…read morenoting my engagement photo and wedding photo experience was atrocious, so it was hard to commit to doing this. But I figured I could get them done and if I hated them, could put them in a drawer (or obscure folder on computer) and if I liked them, then hooray! I am delighted to say this was a hooray! Jessica answered the million questions I had before I scheduled with her and made me feel really comfortable that I had made a good choice in photographer before even meeting her in person. She is incredibly sweet and in person definitely made me and my husband feel comfortable during the shoot (we aren't exactly picture type people and generally aren't about having our photos taken), so this was huge for us. It was an actually enjoyable experience. Scheduling was easy and so was communication. Turnaround on proofs and final photos were timely. Pricing is on point and I absolutely appreciate that she was one of the few photographers for maternity and newborn I could find that doesn't force you into a heinously expensive package with order minimums. I bring this up because it was a strong consideration for me when looking for a photographer. I didn't and still don't feel the need to spend $500 on printed photos when I really only want or need a 2-3 hardcopies for my mantle and like having the rest safe digitally and can share with far away family that way (via email/ social media). That said, if you want prints, Jessica can handle that! The photos turned out wonderful and will most decidedly not be being put in a drawer/ obscure folder to be forgotten. We couldn't be more thrilled with how easy the process was and how beautiful her photos turned out. She was so careful with our new baby (first) and we felt beyond comfortable with her working with him in her studio. We came back again for a mini-session for Mother's Day which was so special and a priceless chance to catch those photos you want, but never seem to be able to get yourself. As a Mom, I find I have tons of snaps of my son with everyone else, but none of just the two of us. It was great to have that chance to get those action snapshots and we look forward to doing more mini-sessions with Heather over the years. We recently also did my son's One Year pictures and Cake Smash. She provided great information ahead of time so we knew exactly how to prepare before the shoot and what to expect. She had wonderful design ideas and took our ideas and desires into account from the beginning. My son seemed to be a bit shy around new people, very active and was more interested in the blackberries than his (delicious!!) cake. When I thought no one could take my baby's newborn photos at one month old, Maricela took this job…read morelike a champ. She woke up several times during the session but Maricela managed to put her back to sleep to get the shots. She's very comfortable with babies. I felt like she was doing acrobatics with the baby when changing clothes. I even learned some tips to calm her when she's fussy. The studio is well equipped with many different props. It is so hard to pick because all the props are amazing. You don't need to bring anything. She's always upgrading and adding to the extensive wardrobe. She has several closets with clothes, wraps, head gear. She will help you with styling. I contacted some other photographers and they directed me to hire a stylist. You only need to send Maricela some inspiration photos and she will deliver! Her maternity closet made me regret not having a maternity shoot. The sessions aren't pricey. What breaks your bank are the photos. However, she has many different packages for every budget as well as a las carte options. You'll just have to settle for less pictures. This isn't JC Penny. The camera she uses and her skills make the pictures flawless. Her work is worth it.

I originally was supposed to go through Edson Photography who cancelled my session 15 minutes before I was arriving after spending 2 hours and $250.00 on hair and makeup (which wasn't even the end of that horrible experience). When I reached out to Abba Color Photography, she immediately responded and fit me into her super busy schedule. I was so incredibly grateful for her and ended up being so much more pleased with the communication between her and I than the other photographer. She actually felt like she loved her job and it wasn't just a business transaction. Going to her studio, I was even more pleased. She has literally EVERYTHING you can think of there for a photoshoot. No need to come with all these props for yourself because she has it all! The pictures arrived to me a DAY later to pick which ones I wanted for her to edit and send to me. The unedited ones turned out so beautiful and I can only imagine what they are going to look like edited and finished. I am so incredibly happy with the results. Her response, timely delivery and professionalism is amazing. And it was so nice that she has her mom work with her to help out!
