Jenny was able to take that unorganized, jumbled mess of a phone call and spit out a highly detailed, actionable, and prioritised to-do list that broke down not only what I had to do, my husband had to do, but she took on things that MY MOM was supposed to do. I cannot tell you how much this was appreciated - it makes me teary eyed just thinking about her kindness and how she went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was a spot of brightness and hope amongst the dark weeks leading up to it. She went to the church days before to check lighting, environment, set up and even spoke and coordinated with church what is expected. She noticed the lighting in the church is a lot dimmer than most churches and she made sure to speak with the videographer and photographer to ensure they understood what setting they would be dealing with. That is the definition of going out of the way for her bride. Another amazing thing she suggested after going to the church was for me and my husband to do a "look before" we walk down, she suggested this because in the Greek tradition we do not speak or do vows so she thought it was a good idea to take pictures of us before church so we can talk, take any pictures we want and get the anxiety out. This made the time of actual church such a stressful and easy going processes. For our reception I demanded to have it in my parents back yard and she was all for it educating us on what backyard wedding entails and I had no idea it is a lot more work but she did everything to make it perfect. The owner, Gina, agrees with your vision to rent her chairs, you pay the deposit, and she will contact you days before your wedding to share her concerns of the space/venue she know very well. She creates issues that doesn't exist only to tell you she has no recommendations for how she can complete the task of delivering and flipping the chairs for your event. Once you constantly ask her for a solution, she hang-up the phone in your face because the person in the car didn't like your tone. She is the most unprofessional person I've ever experienced. She does all of this in hopes you would cancel so she can keep your deposit (when there was not any services she was going to give you in the first place). Please use a different vendor!!! One of the best things about this spot was having a large variety of different areas for guests to spread out and socialize. The Haight has done the look of a rustic venue better than most places that I've seen. One thing that I really appreciated is that the look is rustic, but the facilities themselves are in great shape and modern. There were also plenty of great photo spots all around the venue that were lit nicely and contributed to guests having plenty of photo opportunities that they could create on their own. For those who were looking to rest, I did enjoy having sofas and softer cushioned chairs available to relax in. Overall, excellent venue that I would love to attend another wedding in the future. Thankfully my Mom helped with a lot but I would highly recommend that most couples (who both work full time) probably want to have a wedding planner. The Brix is helpful with their suggestion list (we used a lot of the vendors on the list) but I will admit it was more overwhelming than I originally thought it would be to manage everything. Also Binnys and their delivery service was a MUCH cheaper option than the Brixs preferred partner. Taking back the extra alcohol was not too much extra work especially considering it saved us almost a grand compared to prestige.
