My name is Nikki i was in Karment for rehab first was admitted in Nov 2017.I ha lost half of my right foot at first. I was there till Feb.2018.Yes there were some difficultie with staff shortages and some C.N.A's i really did not care for. But overall te administration were working to make the facility better. I watched nurses come and go like a cherry turnover. But there was one nurse who was making a differance just by sticking it out and she was only a LPN who knew more not only about the facility but about the residants.so thank you Shirly Buckner. also there are so much going on in that place NOONE can imagine.I come from a medical background too. I was only a cna but i became an administrator to a CBRF and had no idea what the hell i was doing. I relied on the ombudman and other administrators help.so i am fully aware of state reg's. Karmenta was so short staffed that it was a bleesing that alot of cna's came to apply. But i don't think alot of thgey i was told that em knew much about was a state regulation was.Even the cna's who have been there for as long as 15 year were set in thier own ways of doing things they didnt care if it was leagal or not.I was so glad to go home in feb.But my life was about to change for the worst 2 weeks later. I was told that i had a rotten bone in my right leg that it had to be cut off. Yes i have no rt leg below the knee. While i was in surgery i was told that a person from karment had stop by not just to see how i was but to let me know Karmenta wanted me to come back for rehab.I was a little hesitate but i decided to agree. WOw!!!when i arrived back i was already dreading being back.Yes i knew the PT's-OT's and most of the staff and residants. What a story of mine..But i wanted to give you all a little of my background first. This time while i was there,i felt more at home.I wittnesssed Glenn who is the administrater,Get so fustrated and take his fustrations out on staff, residants, and himself. But i really didnt understand the stress he had to be in. I saw time and time again staff cut him down and talk back.Yes he did fire a few staff members that should have never been fired. I have seen him not do anything about some staff members that should have been fired stay. But when it comes down to a residant that need help or is having a rough time. One person i can count on helping out till the problem is solved no matter how long it takes. Is Glenn. While i was there i develope a blood clot in the right Tibia bone. I had to have another surgery in may 2018.While i was at uw hospital i recived 2 calles a day.1st call every am at 6:30 sharp was from my best friend at Karmenta scott, rip and the 2nd was frome Glenn.Talk about dedication. Moral of this story is Karmenta may have a bad wrap for employment but untill you actually know how much Glenn really does care about the staff and residants it may look like a messed up place to work but as soon as i get my leg i am going to apply.because i know that the staff is tring to turn the reviewss around and make it a home away from home for people like me with extreme bi-polar depression and is a single mother of a 16 yr old daughter and probably the youngest person there.I know that if you a truelly dedicated cna or a lpn.Karmenta could use someone like you.
Thank you my Karmenta Family read more
