Gave him pain meds 2 different time (different kinds to help the pain) neither worked, no one came to check on us during those 4 hours except when we had to ASK for someone to come in. Stubitson didn't even talk to us before diagnosing and now we are now admitted at St. Mary's because they failed to diagnose pancreatitis. Thanks for the waste of time and telling my significant other not to panic because "everyone throws up". They did a blood test but never did any other kind of imaging or tests to diagnose his issue. I recommend choosing a different hospital if you are looking for emergency or urgent care because although the nurse was nice, Stubitson brushed us off, was rude, and failed to diagnose or order correct imaging.

Upon entering, staff members are stationed at the information desk to answer any questions, which is helpful. The pool is located in one corner of the building. There are lockers available for changing, and a lifeguard is always on duty. It's a lap-sized pool and overall a nice facility. This time, I visited a friend who was there for a procedure. The hospital itself is only a decade old so it looks well kept!

Dr. Kincaid was rated "the Best of the Best" for Sauk County and has been widely recommended by my friends and family. He has a very calm, kind demeanor, thoroughly explains things, is very honest as well as interacting with the children in stressful situations. Nice sense of humor. We saw his colleague when Dr. Kincaid wasn't in clinic and he was geat too. Very personable and kind nursing/MA staff for initial prep as well as shots. They also failed to move me to a more comfortable bed for an hour and a half even though they knew I wexperiencing severe neck pain due to severe neck arthritis and a bad pillow. The nurses in the hospital kept me awake all night laughing and gossiping in the hall outside my room, so I got no sleep for 36 hours while in a health crisis. The doctor was extremely chauvinistic and lectured me extensively on what a bad patient I was for taking estrogen for hot flashes and he wouldn't stop even when I asked him to leave me alone (this was at 4 in the morning, by the way) After my stay a grievance was opened and I spoke with various people for a total of about two hours of wasted time. I was promised that they would call back with a plan about how some of the miscommunication and poor care could be avoided in the future. I requested apology letters from the nurses who kept me awake rather than asking that they be written up. I was promised that I would get thode. I never got my return call or my apology letters. So they blew me off twice, once with my care and again with my complaint. They absolutely do not care one bit about their patients and I would recommend going just about anywhere else but here. Truly awful "care."

I was not asked if it was okay that they were joining like I have been at every other visit where a student is present. The horrifying part was when without permission or even asking me, my Dr allowed the student to preform my exam which was painful and uncomfortable as the student definitely did not know what they were doing. Was told, by doctor I have a sinus infection but they won't prescribe antibiotics until past 10 days. UW Health itself -- the central brain of the operation -- is pretty messed up. Billing is an ongoing nightmare. Bills arrive with 5 days until the due date (not enough time to get a bank bill pay check delivered even if I submit it the moment I get the bill), and UW Health refuses to correct this. Even after paying the full amount due, the next month I get another bill for the same services, with no good explanation for why this isn't all billed at once. I've tried to resolve this numerous times, and receive unhelpful answers from someone at UW Health in Madison (so, not a Portage clinic employee) who clearly doesn't care. The portal that they use to communicate with patients (MyChart) is pretty clunky and frustrating to use. I once asked if a certain setting could be changed (for email notifications) and was told by UW Health that there is no such feature built into the software. I contacted Epic (the maker of the software) directly and was told that there was such a feature but UW Health hadn't turned it on. So again, my concern was ignored.
