Kids also have game and comic options as well as stuffed animals that are great for all ages. Staff is friendly, greeting us as we entered and various employees asking if we needed help with anything during our visit. We got what we wanted and continued our adventure. I'm glad we make FanFare a regular Kalamazoo stop and am already looking forward to coming back.

I love the 5 for a dollar section that allows me to get some retail therapy while spending next to nothing. I listen to a variety of music including lots of oldies. I also like rain tracks or classical to help me sleep, so I always find something. I think they probably dislike me since I only shop the "Super Clearance Section" but 'oh well, I'm having fun'. Have you been to Green Light yet? It's in a small, unassuming strip mall (slightly overshadowed by…read morethe liquor store next door, but once you have been to Green Light, you won't even notice the neighbors any more, so intent are you on getting INSIDE!), with plenty of ample parking. Inside, you'll find new and used records, tapes, and cds. (I mean, of course!) The walls are covered with interesting new releases and rare recordings. The bins are a joy to peruse, especially the 45s. Larger musicians have their own tabs, otherwise it is alphabetical. You'll find much here that you'll love, but it will also be hard to stay on budget. Luckily, they have a frequent buyer card (in $5 increments). Our favorite part is digging through the 45s. It's a trip down memory lane, with laughter galore. I cannot believe the 80s fashion that ended up on record sleeves (I know, I wore it myself, but not in such a...memorable way). The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The music playing is especially interesting. And, although we haven't done it yet, they do purchase music from customers (hence the enormous selection of records for us to discover treasures within!). Previously, my favorite record store was Electric Fetus in Minneapolis. This has definitely replaced it, both for warmth and service. Go!

Places like Green Light help me get on the right track to get my collection back to its original glory. How I Met Your Mother season one and two were a no brainers to grab. My husband grabbed 'Inglorious Bastards' and 'Ray'. As we were about to go to the counter an amazing B-movie looking DVD caught my eye. 'Frogs', my favorite animal has a movie starring Sam Elliot for $2.99? Yes please. The employee was pretty laid back but also helpful. We were greeted when we came in and asked us if we needed anything. When checking out he told us about their stamp program where get a stamp every $5 you spend and eventually get something. So glad we stopped and will be back to find more treasures.

The store is fairly large and the music is well organized. They do stick of few used pieces of all genres of music but "new" wax is definitely their specialty. Store is located right in front of the Wabash lights which is an art installation that uses L.E.D lights to create visual art on the L tracks. Reckless is a great store to check out when you are in downtown Chicago. It's just a few blocks of Michigan ave, and not far from the Theater District of Millennium park. Enjoy!!

I'm going to officially vote this as the best record store in the Lafayette area. They are super…read moreheavily focused on new vinyl only, but the selection is pretty good and includes many new styles, as well as typical classic rock, blues/jazz, classical, hip-hop, etc. In the back on the floor are a small selection of used vinyl, though it's a tiny selection with not much to pick from. As someone who likes picking through vinyl for a good deal, I was super pleased to find the many bins of Clearance Vinyl along the floor under the main shelves of records. There is a ton of "old stock" new vinyl under there, many that have been marked down to well under $10. I'm really into mid 2000s vinyl and I found a good chunk of things I've been looking for down there, still sealed, waiting over a decade for me to pick through it. Stop by and give the place a look. You'll hopefully find something worth stopping by for. And while you're in, check out the insane selection of other things. The overall shop is a mixture of a head shop, record shop, bookstore, novelty store, jewelry store, and comic book store, and it seems to go on forever. A very unique and cool addition that any smaller college town would be immensely jealous of!

It feels like they all disappeared overnight. CD-Land is a relic of the 1990s, and is likely doomed to go out of business just like your local newspaper, Blockbuster, and Gamestop. With that being said, CD-Land holds a certain degree of nostalgic value. You can walk in and find all kinds of memories for sale under $5 each. It's a blast from the past.

If you can't find what you're looking for here, then it doesn't exist. If it does, they can order it for you. There is really TOO many CDs here, with CDs piled on top of the racks, and in boxes underneath. It makes it kind of  hard for quick browsing, but if you like to dig dig dig this is the place. Although the selection is daunting, chances are they have what you're looking for. There is also a very nice selection of collectible CDs, boxes, promos, and stuff that you are just not going to find anyplace else. The used CDs are top quality; they don't buy junk like other used CD stores. There is a money back guarantee but I doubt you'll ever need to return anything. The only negative comment I have is that the prices of used CDs may be a little high for some titles. The big boxes are dumping back catalog new CDs for as little at $4.99, but you'll find a used copy here for $9.99. If you think a particular used title is priced too high, just ask. Often the price reflects availability. If it's out of print, the price goes up. If it's been reissued recently, mention that to the staff and the price might go down. They also stock many "import" CDs at ridiculously high prices. With high quality torrent downloads so prevalent, there is no reason to buy these "import" CDs. Selling your used CDs depends on what your selling. They buy used CDs based on quality and availability, and if they think they can sell it. If the title your selling is out of print or rare, you will get more. If the store has 25 Justin Bieber CDs in the rack, they may not even want it. They know what sells and they know their customers, so be prepared to take back home the Britney Spears CDs you listened to in elementary school. The vinyl loft has been greatly expanded, and here is where I think the real bargains lie. The price of used, near mint, and new vinyl is very reasonable. Even hard to find stuff is priced right. No price gouging here. Finally, they also buy and sell used DVDs and video games. I don't normally browse those areas so I can only say that it's available.
