The rooftop view of the lake at night time was amazing no matter which room we were seated in. The service was fairly average the first night but quite good the second. The kids pastas we ordered were inexpensive but fairly small, my seven year old son predictably ordered twice which was just about the right portion for him. My wife and I ordered the tomahawk steak for two. The temperature and seasoning were actually done fairly well but the steak was a tougher cut than I expected. We opted for pastas the second night and the carbonara ended up being a good choice that I'd recommend. The special for the evening, a homemade gnocchi pasta with tomato, zucchini (vegetables grown in the waitress' garden), and a light sauce was excellent. The apple cake with homemade vanilla gelato is their signature desert and is simply wonderful. The service was friendly and helpful. I would recommend La Vecchina for dinner or pre/post dinner drinks.
