There's also nice gluten-free options here, which is one of the reasons I stopped in. Service was super kind and the person had a vast knowledge of all the products in the store. Had the chicken pesto and it was honestly really good. The guy in front of me had a burger and he was overjoyed saying he would come back for the same thing later this week. Service was fantastic all the way around, even when they sold me a beer that they couldn't provide (some sort or cooler issue). If you are into it they have a huge supply of crazy sodas to buy. Honestly they would have gotten five stars but I tried several of the chocolates and they were a tad disappointing especially for the price. Give the grill a shot but maybe skip the gourmet chocolates?

This review is in regards to my visit in March 2026. This was my second visit to the SB Chocolate Cafe - my boyfriend and I shared a slice of chocolate cheesecake nearly a year ago. I remember it being very expensive but pretty good and indulgent. I'm a very kind food reviewer, looking past lots of mistakes. But my god, I hated my chicken salad sandwich. The goop inside was so so bad. Everything felt a little too Gordon food service-y. I swear our chicken salad, coleslaw, and mustard potato salad are all from large vats. The overhead must be huge here. For lunch, my bf paid $35 for tax and tip, which is honestly a little expensive for two sandwiches. Don't order lunch here but do check out their actual chocolate store. They make great gifts! And their discounted section is full of cheap treats!

They were very caring about choosing a theme that matched our toddler's interest and personality, asking questions that helped us agree upon a design, which was a Curious George monkey. The cakes themselves were moist and delicious. While I am not particularly a cake fan, they didn't go overboard on making the icing so thick that it distracted from the rest of the cake, which is common among store purchased/store order cakes. Dawn (the owner) had a nice portfolio of suggestions and we found them to be quite popular in the area with a lot of clients and fans listed on their Facebook fan page. The next time we visit the area for any type of celebration, I plan to call and arrange our cakes through them. It's too bad they don't have their little business in San Diego, or maybe it is a good thing - I'd order from them too often. Our hats off to the baker for her delightful little assistants, who doted on our toddler when picking up the cake. We're devoted fans.

They also carry cinnamon roll kits and such. 2-day shipping or there are location options to pickup. The kit includes everything you need. Everything is pre-measured, packaged separately, and marked clearly. Pre-mixed flour mix, yeast, baking soda, coarse salt, and cinnamon sugar in a cute reusable drawstring burlap bag. There is a coupon on the box for 50% off next order. Easy to follow step by step specific instructions are included. And there's online videos. And recipes and tips. Each kit comes with two or more bags. Each bag makes six huge pretzels or eight large or 10 medium soft pretzel or dozens of pretzel bites or pretzel sticks or a combination of them all. The choices are endless. I participated in a free virtual zoom pretzel making class. The owners were very knowledgeable and explained the business and provided very patient easy to follow along instructions. The session was very engaging and inspiring and fun. They took all questions through out. The house smells so good. They made it so easy. Everyone's turned out really well. They are so delicious. The best soft pretzel I've ever had. Took me a while to figure out how to shape them. But once I slowed down and I paid attention and listened I figured out the amount of dough to use and laid the dough down instead of trying to flip it in the air like the pro, I got the hang of it. If this left-handed baking challenged girl can make them with ease anyone can. Such a great local business with the most delightful owners and staff. Please order a pretzel kit today for your family and play it forward and order for another family. (I learned the hard way, don't make a batch of pretzels by yourself with quarantined solo)). Great family or group activity for any age. it counts as a homeschooling science lesson and math lesson too! Please consider donating pretzels delivered to someone on the front line too. It would be a fun Yelp Event! https://www.benspretzels.com/
