We ordered coffee and it was fresh and hot. The wife decided on a breakfast burrito and I went with the standard breakfast of eggs, sausages, hash browns, a a very tasty biscuit that made me wish they served two instead of one. The wife said her burrito was good, I'm a bit critical of my breakfast, the sausages were perfectly cooked, my scrambled eggs were just ok and the hash browns could have been a little crispier but overall it was a good and filling breakfast. I'm sure we'll be back again to try other selections.

Coffee was good, besides not getting a spoon to stir my coffee, that's okay. Coffee was great nonetheless. Breakfast was really good too. HashBrowns was cooked to perfection. This place is located right next door to a Mc Donald's- (Dick move on corporations) I suggest you give this place a try while driving through Quartzsite for breakfast. There was only one server, Josh, running the entire front of the house by himself. Apparently this is customary on Wednesdays. Before he could seat us, he had to clear off a table. Several tables were just in disarray and when people came in, this poor man had to scramble to clean something off. I went to the bathroom and one stall had absolutely no toilet paper or covers. And one dispenser had no soap. The bathroom was just yucky. When I came back, we still didn't have menus or drinks. When our food came, we asked for condiments that took too long that we ended up taking them from another table. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The cook gave me a stale biscuit that just ruined my meal. I couldn't eat it or ask for it to be remade because Josh was too busy to check in on us or refill our drinks. I told him when he came to pick up the plates. He apologized, but he didn't remove it from the check. I paid $10 for a meal I couldn't eat. We got a piece of pie and the taste was kind of weird...like it had been freezer burned and then defrosted. The whole experience was disappointing.

So why only four out of five stars then? It is mandatory in my rating scheme that I would be willing to do a 30+ min detour just to dine or drink here, and as much as I loved the place: that would be a tad too much to ask. They are supposed to be sausage burritos but they were out of sausage the first day so we got bacon. But the salsa was excellent! The second day we ate there we got sausage burritos but the salsa was Pace Picante sauce. If they would have combined the good salsa with the sausage burritos then it would have been worth the over $11 you pay for the burrito. The pancakes were fine albeit a bit overcooked. They come free with the purchase of a drink or side item so I can't complain. They also serve Pepsi products. Yuck. So all in all, Sassy's is a fine option when you are in the middle of the desert at the Salton Sea. I would be interested in trying different items to get a more well-rounded opinion of the place.
