When we were told that we might have white mildew and/or black mold in our attic, we knew that some…read morerestoration companies will "find" mold or mildew even if it's not there. Our search for an honest company led us to West Coast, and we hoped the reviews were true. The good news is, West Coast is as honest as it gets. Askia came out and looked around the attic while I watched from the ladder. First, he showed me that the supposed mildew was some sort of harmless sandy clay-ish material. And the supposed black mold was just "lumber mold", an industry term for "stain fungi"--the common dark streaks in lumber that originate at the sawmill or in the forest, don't weaken the lumber, and are not indications of moisture. Who knew? Well, Askia knew. And he actually spent time convincing me that we didn't need their services. So do I recommend them to you? You betcha! An honest company is a joy to find.

When they were done, the owner reviewed the photos and made the staff come back and clean it one more time to remove the remaining black stains. I was satisfied with the remediation work and the additional follow through. The restoration portion of the work was led by another person and that scope of work and estimate wasn't as smooth. It was the same company but different people running the job like it was a separate company. I ended up hiring another contractor that I had worked with me before.

I got an estimate from a contractor for the repairs of roughly $3000 prior to these cowboys showing up and doing a crappy demo job. After they're done the estimate more than doubled to $6500. The contractor was horrified with their performance. Then they slapped me with a bill of $4400 for all the damage they did. They completely destroyed my lower kitchen cabinet and their response was oh your insurance company will pay for replacement. Unfortunately, I had exceeded my coverage limit and now I have to come out of pocket to fix my place back up.They chopped off the drywall just above the backsplash so that's impossible to install new drywall without removing the backsplash and the countertop and also removing the pantry cabinet. They also broke the light in the kitchen and tried to settle that by giving me a $50 gift card. Same thing in the bathroom, the floor tiles were so badly damaged, it left me no choice but having to replace the whole floor. Please do not use these guys or you'll regret it.

At times his team could be short staffed so the project took longer than expected, but we were definitely happy with the outcome. He also worked hard with our insurance company so that we didn't have to be the intermediary. These guys know what they are doing and more importantly, want to do the right thing. I'd venture to say Kyle started as a contractor and left as a friend.

We hired SunCoast Restoration in 2025 for mitigation and restoration following water damage…read more The mitigation portion of the project went smoothly and was completed without issue. Unfortunately, our experience with the restoration phase was much more challenging. From an administrative standpoint, we received a final restoration invoice that did not properly reflect payments we had already made and included materials we had purchased ourselves. We notified SunCoast of these issues immediately, provided receipts and documentation the same day, and were told the invoice would be revised. Despite multiple follow-ups, we did not receive a corrected invoice or meaningful communication for nearly two months. Instead, a mechanic's lien was filed against our home based on the uncorrected invoice. After filing a complaint with the BBB and notifying SunCoast that we intended to pursue the issue further if it remained in place, we finally received a corrected invoice. We promptly mailed payment, and the lien was subsequently released. We also experienced workmanship concerns during the restoration process, including loose fixtures, electric work and finish details that required additional attention after project completion. By the end of the project, we were exhausted by the ongoing billing and communication issues and chose to address some remaining items through another contractor rather than continue working through SunCoast. In addition, we experienced a gas leak after returning home. The workers had moved our gas dryer and did not properly secure the gas line but put the dryer back in its place. We had not been informed of any concerns regarding the gas connection or that there were precautions we should take before turning the gas back on. We ran laundry overnight and woke up to the smell of gas. We notified them and they took full responsibility. Fortunately, no one was injured. While some aspects of the final restoration turned out well, the combination of billing errors, prolonged communication gaps, the filing of a lien during an unresolved billing dispute, workmanship concerns, and the gas safety issue made this an unnecessarily stressful experience. My advice to anyone considering this company would be to carefully review all invoices, maintain thorough records of payments and communications, and inspect completed work closely before making final payment.

Turns out, it spread to the majority of the cabinets and the entire kitchen needed to be demo'd as a result. Johnny is easily one of the kindest, most empathetic, and efficient workers I have ever had at my house and I cannot recommend Roto-Rooter enough simply because of how helpful he was during this crisis. He reassured me that this would 100% be a covered claim through my insurance and he was right. He took time to answer every single question or concern we had throughout the process and he dealt directly with our insurance adjuster to answer any of their questions as well. His Water Mitigation team and the Plumbing team were respectful and collaborative when we needed it most. Thank you Johnny and the entire Roto-Rooter team for helping us out during one of the most trying times we have had as homeowners. I highly recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone in need of a trustworthy plumbing and water mitigation team

She was rushed to the emergency room but was more concerned over the mess in the bathroom, requesting someone to come clean it immediately as she was incapacitated to do so. I live in another state, and I had to frantically search for a biohazard company to clean from 1000 miles away and with no personal referrals or experience in this type of service. I luckily was able to speak to Michele, whose compassion, sense of urgency and understanding already made me feel that I had someone out there supporting me. Such a relief. Due to the situation, they were able to move appointments around to rush Doug to my mother's home in Irvine by the time she got home from the hospital. They cleaned up everything with precision and care, to the utmost extent. Considering how horrific the scene was, you would never have known this entire bathroom was once a "crime" (though not a crime) scene. After the owner of the company called me later to confirm everything was done to our specifications and check on my mom. I mean, seriously. The best service I could ever ask for. Pricing was fair...especially compared to other places I called, with quicker service and exceptional care. I am forever grateful.
