Took our dog Bentley to the groomer here today. When we got there the gal walking him back said…read more"same as last time?" I said yes. We were just there in January. I then pick Bentley up and he is completely shaved.... In the dead of winter. I let them know that I had meant for him to get a sanitary cut and a bath not completely shaved. They said that they do not document bath + sanitary cuts, only "full grooms". Obviously a miscommunication. Dr Clark gets on the phone and I let him know I was unhappy that my predominantly outside dog was completely shaved in February. He was going over the logistics of their computer system and specific grooming terminology trying to find out where things got messed up. He then offered $25 off of my next grooming. I said that I had just paid over $100 and my dog was supposed to get a bath and he is now shaved. He said he has to pay his groomer and buy shampoo and he can't just give me my money back. Then he said giving me my money back is not going to make my dog any warmer. I'm so surprised by all of this. Customer service completely out the window. Apparently this is how their business works: They don't document baths + sanitary cuts -my fault I didn't know this They said same as last time- my fault I didn't know that meant last "full groom" in September not when I was just here in January When a customer is upset by a service being done incorrectly due to a miscommunication it is the customers fault for the miscommunication not the staffs I was told if I wanted a refund then I would have to find a different groomer. This is obviously not the groomers fault. It's a communication issue within this vet office. Heads up for anyone else doing business with Pet Care & Surgery Center

Breeder Yes, adopting is ideal. I've adopted, too…read more Sometimes, however, getting a dog from a breeder is the best option, like for those of us with hardcore allergies, or for other reasons may want a non-shedding dog. In those cases, finding a good breeder who not a puppy mill is essential. I did much research prior to deciding what breeder to select. I read about warning signs and looked at reviews, history with state regulators, and the breeders' own transparency. One breeder refused to let anyone on their property; puppy pickups happened at local truck stops. Jason at Kingdom Dogs answered all my questions. When I finally decided to visit them, I still wasn't sure about getting a puppy. They happened to have a few unclaimed yet, and we fell in love with a floofy little cockapoo. He is now more than a year old, and a whopping 35 pounds (he was supposed to max out at 30), but has the sweetest disposition and is smart, too. Oliver brings us joy every day. I give Kingdom Dogs 4 stars instead of 5 because, at the time we got Oliver, they were still docking cockapoo tails in the tradition of Cocker Spaniels. While his little nub is cute, I'd prefer tails be left natural. I think they stopped that practice in 2020, but I'm not sure. They also have slowed down the breeding so they have a waiting list now, ensuring that there are rarely puppies available who have to wait to be sold. This is better for everyone. Kingdom Dogs is located on farmland in Carthage, Missouri. It's a family business. A few months ago, I met another cockapoo owner at the groomers. He had a dog with him from Kingdom Dogs, too. He said that was his second, and he was thinking about getting a third, because of their sweet disposition. If I got a third dog, I would have to get on Yelp for referrals for divorce attorneys, realtors, and moving companies!

I called to make sure that they did walk-in nail trims and to see if I needed to bring in my dog's vaccination records. The man on the phone told me that I did. The young man greeted us at the door and asked what service we were there for. I told him a nail trim and he immediately tried to take my dog. I asked if he needed to see his vax records or if I needed to do any paperwork. He said no. Then he PICKED UP my 80 pound dog to CARRY him from the front door to the back. I was shocked and confused. I said, "Um, he will follow you back, you don't need to carry him..." He said, "Oh, it's fine." While I waited, I sat in disgust and horror as I took in my surroundings. I could hear my dog whimpering and whining, which he literally never does. It smelled like pee and cigarette smoke. There was fur all over the carpet in the lobby. The area that I'm assuming is the dog play area, was covered in hairballs, and a pile of feces. Beyond that, was the grooming room... which was the nastiest sight and made me extremely uncomfortable. It was absolutely covered in fur, toys, and trash on the floor and the table space. I literally left wanting to vomit. As I was leaving, I drove around a little bit and noticed that their outside fenced in area was quite small and part of the fence was broken enough to where a small dog could easily escape. This place needs to be shut down. I would not recommend it to anyone at all. The single star can be for the young man who was nice and fast, but that's the only positive thing I have to say. Definitely not worth my $10.
