I've adopted, too…read more Sometimes, however, getting a dog from a breeder is the best option, like for those of us with hardcore allergies, or for other reasons may want a non-shedding dog. In those cases, finding a good breeder who not a puppy mill is essential. I did much research prior to deciding what breeder to select. I read about warning signs and looked at reviews, history with state regulators, and the breeders' own transparency. One breeder refused to let anyone on their property; puppy pickups happened at local truck stops. Jason at Kingdom Dogs answered all my questions. When I finally decided to visit them, I still wasn't sure about getting a puppy. They happened to have a few unclaimed yet, and we fell in love with a floofy little cockapoo. He is now more than a year old, and a whopping 35 pounds (he was supposed to max out at 30), but has the sweetest disposition and is smart, too. Oliver brings us joy every day. I give Kingdom Dogs 4 stars instead of 5 because, at the time we got Oliver, they were still docking cockapoo tails in the tradition of Cocker Spaniels. While his little nub is cute, I'd prefer tails be left natural. I think they stopped that practice in 2020, but I'm not sure. They also have slowed down the breeding so they have a waiting list now, ensuring that there are rarely puppies available who have to wait to be sold. This is better for everyone. Kingdom Dogs is located on farmland in Carthage, Missouri. It's a family business. A few months ago, I met another cockapoo owner at the groomers. He had a dog with him from Kingdom Dogs, too. He said that was his second, and he was thinking about getting a third, because of their sweet disposition. If I got a third dog, I would have to get on Yelp for referrals for divorce attorneys, realtors, and moving companies!

I am so glad I did! She was very pleasant during our phone conversation and seemed pretty knowledgeable. I brought my two doggies in for the works today and the place was nice and clean. All fine and good but didn't help prevent the mess that was about to be made. On a whim, I called Jan's and explained the situation. Unbeknownst to me, Jan and her lovely daughter Jamie, have a thriving business and were completely booked. But after a brief chat, Jan made a colossal, humanitarian effort to work me in. I have also noticed that the store is much cleaner than what I have seen in the past. I'm taking into consideration that this is a pet store. The store seems much less cluttered than it was before. Being well organized helps any business and they are much better now than they were a year ago. The dog food is very inexpensive compared to other places in the area that I have price matched. The dog toys are considerably higher in cost than other local stores. I felt the need to up Petsmart from a two star to a four star because I feel they have improved greatly with both their customer service and organization. I plan on taking my puppy to their dog training classes as well as the pet care clinic that is associated with the store. After both the dog training classes and vet visits I will once again update my review and post my experience. We continue to use Petsmart even though we got the puppy at a competing store here in the Joplin area. I keep a close eye on several pet stores here and at this time choose Petsmart because of their friendly and helpful staff coupled with the lowest prices on food (not toys). I will update my reviews to the best of my ability as needed so my fellow Yelpers will know my experiences with Petsmart. As of now, they seem to be doing a lot of things right.

Her first house in which she was raised (first 8 weeks) had 5 children that love to be apart of the care each dog receives. Theses dogs get loved on multiple times a day and start their life with not only adults that love and cherish them but children also. It is truly noticeable that our female received that type of love because of how she has always interacted with our 5 year old and with adults. I'd also like to comment on the fact that potty training was easier to do due to Sarah starting the introduction to potty training so early.

These guys were a godsend!…read more I was taking a roadtrip to Maryland and stopped in Joplin to have dinner with a good friend of mine. The problem though was that we brought our three large dogs. A 3 year old newfoundland mix A 7 month old Bernese Mountain Dog A 2 year old neurotic Yellow Lab Mix. Now I know in Denver if I tried to do this we'd be charged around $150 for each dog just for the four hours. But these lovely ladies charged me on 25$ to take care of them for the four hours to let me and my fiance (now husband) explore town a bit and grab dinner. I called them before hand through. So that probably helped alot. Most would bock at the size of our pouches but the lovely woman who took them in didn't even bash an eyelash. She kept the guys well hydrated and even let them use the potty facilities in the back of building. If I ever have my boys with me when I travel through again I'll drop them off here again!

Her ears were not trimmed, her head had some areas that are almost bald. We are looking for a new groomer. The staff and vet are all wonderful with Mandy. We will continue with their service. UPDATE : After my last post, I have talked with Paws and have taken Mandy back for a grooming. As stated before, we have always taken our dog to Paws and had been very pleased. I was very pleased again! They took great care of Mandy and she looks really nice and cute. Whenever a business is concerned like they are they call you, apologize for the problems then corrects them. This was the case with us. From Paws owner: "number one priority is the wellbeing of pets" interesting because my dogs paws have not healed even after given "proper instructions with scheduled medicines" and my solid 186 payment. Still haven't had any follow up calls to see how HE IS DOING. That should be number one, right? From Paws: "Julie Dube first time customer called Paws and requested an estimate on 8/14/2024. Estimate was for vet exam, rabies vaccine, heartworm test and heartworm preventative for a total of $102.09. please note that estimates are valid for 30 days only." FEEL FREE to look at the call logs. Their "estimates" change within four days not 30.. pictures added below of call logs.. The initial $45 was for the paw condition so that's their poor logging (Again untruthful or terrible communication on their part) From owner: "Customer came in on 11/02/2024 and everything that was in the estimate was done. Customer also wanted our Vet to check on an ongoing skin problem her dog is having (which was not in the estimate)." I'm sorry but if a customer is asking price in the first place whatever is given to your fur baby should be consented with a given price. From owner: "Vet examined her pet and prescribed 2 different meds for his skin condition. Customer also wanted to know if there were any other vaccines her pet needed. she was told her pet needed two more vaccines. Customer declined one of them and agreed on the other. End of vet visit." I agree on this, however the "accountant" should've stated my bill before they injected him not at the counter after I had no choice. From owner: Customer was very upset when she was given her invoice totaling $186.31 which included: 1. Her original estimate. 2. One extra vaccine and meds to treat her pet for skin condition. Obviously I was upset because I was misquoted and AGAIN my dogs diagnosis wasn't "treated" From owner: "Customer and was not pleasant with the staff, "demanded compensation of free products for spending extra money that she was not expected to spend. Stated she was going to leave a pretty bad review for being scammed into products" I was pleasant with staff I was unpleasant to the owner because her natured inability to understand. Did I not pay the bill within 5 minutes of getting it? I called back hours later after really thinking I got screwed over. NEVER demanded anything spoke from my heart for me to trust this vet I would want to make up the measly money for their discrepancy of price. which would account to $13 a month once a month.. for heartgard.
