After a morning of crow hunting w best friend and old crow, Pots & Pans, stopped in to Karen's for lunch. We never pass up a chance to try a different diner, and the many cars in the parking lot was a welcoming sign. We seated ourselves at a table and our waitress, Candy, supplied our menus and took our orders. For me, it was a turkey club and French fries w brown gravy. For the old crow, it was a tuna sandwich, also ff w brown gravy. My turkey club was just right; hitting all the right notes. And the brown gravy was also perfect. Came in a cup, so allowed me to dunk the fries in it and also spoon some on the sandwich!!!! Pots also said his tuna and fries were very good. Candy checked on us several times. Karen's is nothing fancy, just good food at a reasonable price. I wouldn't hesitate to return. 4.5 stars! read more

I have been wanting to try some new places in the area and Karen's came highly recommended! We will quickly greeted and told to sit anywhere. Our drink orders were taken almost right away. I had an omelet a with spinach and feta and my friend had blueberry pancakes. Everything tasted pretty good. The waitresses were friendly and fast! I recommend a stop- I saw an article online that said it may be up for sale and I hope that isn't true! When you have waffle cravings and everyone else in Pawling is closed you can always count on Karen's. They've stayed open during covid and have been great for takeout. This spot is usually packed and there's always a wait. They have so much land and space, you would think they would expand. The food was good, compared to your options in the area. my only complaint is there was a tiny hair in my food on the plate of my eggs. I was super annoyed because i lost my appetite and i was really excited to try this place. i'll probably go back just because the options in the area are limited. Came here with my family and was very pleased. The waiter was very sweet and checked up on us often! They were a bit busy but still handled everything well! I had their waffles and their sizes were large (enough that I took some home to finish up)! The waffles were similar to Belgian waffles and it had a great texture and flavor!! Really nice ambience, very dinner feel with nice chilled room and diner Esque music. My meal was $8 was good for the price. Food took 12 minutes. They have a lot of free parking. I was ready to overlook the paper cups of coffee (what's diner coffee without the thick ceramic mug?) and the "cooked to order" corned beef that clearly came from a can. Until I overheard the owner, Karen, take a call for a reservation for three. First she informed the caller that she "gets a lot of crank calls" so she required a credit card to hold the reservation. Ok I get it. But for a table of three? At a diner? She rolled her eyes then hung up. Caller called back with a few moments with debit card - which she manually took down all of the information for, including telling the caller where to find the ccv number. She hung up pleasant enough and then announced to her staff "that's a fake number. I know it. I'm not saving a f'ing table for them". My heart sunk as I imagined this could have been my 83 year old mother - who would have called from her ancient flip phone with it's weird caller ID number - making sure there was room for her and a couple of slower moving friends. The blueberry pancakes were delicious - soft, thin, and generously filled with fresh and gently tart fruit. Our waitress was friendly and politely chatty.
