The absolute generosity of these portions is something that I wish would be replicated across downtown Toronto. Our order: Appetizer - Paratha roll bites with paneer; it doesn't say it on the menu, but this comes with a huge portion of fries, too! This could be an entree all on its own. Entree - Potohari chicken half - this was so creamy and mild; a good choice for those of you who don't like spicy food. A fantastic dish. Rice - Gosh, even their rice was a huge portion and super delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

The family size naan isn't worth it, it's worse than the regular size. Even with a large group you'll likely find that it's gone cold midway through the meal, I'd recommend just getting 3 or 4 regular sized as they stay warm for longer when stacked. The grilled items were alright, wouldn't recommend either of the seekh kebabs, the chicken was decent. The karahis were alright though of course quite small for their price and I found that one of them, its name I can't recall was lacking in flavor Can't really blame a chain restaurant for their service but of course it wasn't great here, when first ordered the drinks never came and when asked for a second time only 2 of the 3 arrived, the biryani took far longer than the rest of the meal, we were nearly finished when it came. They were fairly busy but I believe some sort of system should be put in place to prioritize the making of certain dishes due to their wait time.

There are 4 flavor options, we have tried Tandoori chicken and chicken Tikka flavors, both were extremely delicious !! Bowls come with rice, chicken, salad and homemade sauce at top. Culturally,  a Chachu is one who ensures the younger ones in the family are fed, happy, and taken care of. The female staff member, Hadia, was very personable and helpful. I ordered a bowl on rice ($12.99). The staff was nice enough to offer me half Chicken Tikka (yellowish in colour) and half Tandoori Chicken (reddish in colour). The Tikka is mild spicy, and the Tandoori is medium spicy. Both were good. There was a little bit of chopped vegetables. I also ordered a drink dessert called Falooda ($6.99). The thick drink is a mix of creamy milk, rose water, vermicelli, basil, and raisin. Three scoops of vanilla ice cream were added on top. The vermicelli is either made of flour or agar. This is nice and surprisingly not too sweet. There are 4 large tables and 18 chairs. There is outdoor seating during warm weather. There are 11 locations. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. There are no washrooms. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-118

I was quite uncomfortable during the whole meal and that's without wearing or holding heavy winter jacket etc. I wonder what was here before maybe a cafe as the space seemed to be geared towards that. Stairs to go down are also a bit of unnerving venture with winter boots. Washrooms hmm need to be lit and cleaned better unless they are part of the theme! Here is a play by play of the food: Squash chaat hmm didn't enjoy this at all. I couldn't identify much in terms of the taste and the spicing/sauces? didn't add anything to it either. Karahi chicken bun a decent take on this street side food with spice not held back. I enjoyed this somewhat the person I dined with it didn't. Samosa chaat: again a decent take on this street side dish. The sauces are elevated a bit from what one expects. Decent kick as well and tamarind taste coming through in the sauce. Roasted paneer: very disappointing dish. I was expecting a lot of taste either from the sauce or the paneer itself. Nope not the case at all. Big chunks devoid of any character. Beef kebab: hmm ok for what you expect. The charred cabbage was better than the main IMO. Sourdough naan decent. I can't really expect Gerarrd street prices here as the neighborhood and overheads wouldn't allow it. The appetizer (chaat) items are decent but the mains are below average. 2.5 stars out of 5 especially due to the uncomfortable setup.

The worker was nice and took his time to explain the menu, as they were working on listing the full menu at the store. I got their Friday Special, which was fried fish as I was a bit hungry and also grateful that they let us use the washroom without us buying anything. Fried Fish The fried fish was light and moist on the inside with a crisp coating and it went really well with the dipping sauce. The worker recommended Chicken Biryani as their most popular item, which I think I will get next time. Lollipop Chicken We got this on the the house, and the chicken was VERY juicy. I loved it. Mango Delight We also got this on the house. I'm not a big fan of a fruit salad, but this was like a mango fruit salad, which was very pleasant. I'm keeping this place in mind for the next time I'm in the area. I loved the worker here and the quality of the dish as it was also such a reasonable price!

Also, it was nice to see an accessible washroom-- a rarity in Toronto! The only thing that I didn't like was that the salty lassi had cumin seeds in it, but that's my fault because I was expecting something more akin to ayran. The star of the show was definitely the chaat papri-- the crispy wafers and the tamarind sauce are my favourite! I'm so glad the waiter recommended this to us. I would love to come back here and eat my way through this menu!

Lahore tikka house is Incredible, my family has gone here for years and of course through multiple owners, ever since the son took over it's been better than ever. It's places like this which make me wish yelp didn't factor old reviews. After the death of the original owner, I believe his wife took over the food began to go downhill in both taste and quality, though I can't blame her as it must've been quite rough to handle. I believe it was when the building burned down when the current owner began to run things. The new building is in my opinion better than the previous, great exterior and the interior is well designed while keeping the general vibe of the restaurant. The food is incredible, large servings for a good price and even if you don't like lamb I'd encourage you to get the lamb chops, lamb biryani, and lamb Karahi anyway. Of course, I love all their curries, their lamb is just incredible.
