Got a general inspection on the car. The mechanic checked the car, patiently answered all my questions and even boosted the tires for me voluntarily. No other auto repair shops ever did that. A few issues were found with the car but he didn't exaggerate any of them or try to offer unnecessary service at all. I am very happy with their caring way to treat customers.

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. SCAMMERS…read more I came in here to get our car checked out, classic case of scheming car repair shop. Got a firm estimate of $500 for the repairs, brought the car in and left it there. Get a call a couple of hours later that, of course, additional repairs are needed and very noncommittal about amount. Go to pick up the car and they tried to charge is over $700 . They also refused to give us the 20% discount on labor they promised us. And refused to swipe my card , insisting instead on writing down the credit card number which if you know anything about PCI standards is not allowed for merchants. Its not allowed for good reasons because thieves will use your card number for nefarious purposes. End result is we paid more than we were quoted or they would not release the car back to us. Now I leave this bad review, I report them to the relevant agencies, including MasterCard which they're supposed to take according to the terms of their merchant agreement, and of course going to dispute the charge my credit card company, so they don't get away with it. Shame on you.

Mobile Auto Repair is sometimes an extremely helpful option for busy people. If I can avoid taking…read moremy car out of the parking lot and wiping out at least a couple hours of time getting stupid little things fixed, I'll do it. This was the first time I'd had an occasion to do so; I had a taillight and a rear wiper that needed fixing, as I had gotten a fix-it ticket from the greedhead cops of San Jose. Who wants to leave work to do stuff like that? I checked out AMA Repair and several others through Yelp and chose AMA as they were the closest to my work. Well, this worked out perfectly. Both repairs were straightforward, and I was really only charged the $88 fee to get out there to get these things done. So a logistical headache is gone for a reasonable price, the company makes a fair profit on the labor, and I get to retire this stupid ticket. Win-win all around. I would do this again. BIG hassle-saving option.

My car is my baby…read more I needed to graduate to a mechanic once my warranty period passed. So, of course I asked my man. His recommendation? Automotive Technicians. Their reputation is stellar. These guys are the guys that take care of a lot of state government vehicles. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me. No, there aren't many reviews. But they're all 5 stars. And w my man coming here professionally & personally for so many years, I didn't think twice. He introduced me to Henry & Larry. They're extremely knowledgable & personable. They've now worked on my baby twice. I dropped her off & picked her up either the same day or on the next day, depending on what was being done. They were professional & thorough. Any questions I had were answered. Any concerns I had were addressed & handled. Auto Tech doesn't advertise. It's all word of mouth. The best. 5 stars.

You often hear that a good, honest mechanic is hard to find. You will find them at Automotive…read moreTechnicians, as the solely five-star ratings here and on Google attest. While there have been only a few reviewers on both sites, I believe this is largely because the shop does not do any marketing of its fine work. Like so many great businesses, the shop seems to rely on repeat patronage and word-of-mouth advertising. I actually learned of the shop through my co-worker who learned of it through his aunt, a long-time customer. I am now telling everybody I know. The shop is small and low-key, but the mechanics are deeply experienced, straight-forward in how they do business and, best of all, honest. After so many years of getting assessments from places like Midas and Quality Tune-up, and wondering if the assessments and recommendations were real or an unnecessary up-sell, I feel like I've hit upon a hidden treasure. Since I've discovered them, Automotive Technicians has done everything from minor repairs such as replacing my radiator cap and brake work to more major scheduled maintenance such as replacing my timing belt and water pump. They do an excellent job, do it quickly (my brakes, timing belt, water pump and alternator belt were replaced in one day) and charge a fair price. Best of all, they provide peace of mind - which is what you get when you know you are getting honest assessments and quotes. Full disclosure, I was a classmate of the master mechanic, Henry Lau, in Kindergarten and in high school. But I sense that he treats everybody genuinely, regardless of whether or not you may have a personal history/ connection with him--which you will undoubtedly develop after your first visit and become their next loyal customer.

He was on time and about the same price as a shop to complete the job, but the convenience of being at home and not waiting in a shop made him more appealing. While he had the wheels off we discussed installing the shocks and struts for my truck. There were full size struts in the front and shocks in the rear. I made an appointment 2 weeks later to install the struts and shocks. David came to my house but did not have a compression spring to install the struts. He said he was going to get some tools and come back. I said ok no problem. He never showed back up at my house. I had to work that afternoon and his assistant said they would come to my job and do them. They had to go pick up the compressor needed and would be at my job. 2 hours later they never showed up. I texted saying that Its safe to assume you are not coming back out tonight. The next day I got a text message apologizing for the mix up and they wanted to do the job. I said Ok Im at work but have money on me its not a problem. My truck is just sitting there. I told them exactly where I was located and they said they were there. I went outside and nobody was there. I texted and call several times but had no response. i finally get a response saying that we were there but you weren't so we left. If the job was too big for David to do I wish he would have been honest up front and said that he could not complete the job. If he didn't want to do the job he could have said that as well. Instead I felt like I was dragged around when I could have found someone else to do the job. So no I won't recommend him for anything other than a simple brake service, and even then I might shop around for a cheaper price.

Hands down and without reservation an OUTSTANDING experience!…read more My 1999 SAAB badly needed brakes and tires. As a "victim of the economic downturn", I had precious little to spend on the repairs. I headed to A&E hoping for the best. Fifteen minutes after dropping off the car, Ali phoned to advise me they found more wrong than I had hoped. I returned to the shop where he showed me why all four wheels actually needed work. While the original estimate was fair, reasonable, and well below what I would have expected to pay, Ali understood my dilemma, and presented me with a safe, helpful, and very generous alternative. I returned to the shop at closing time and got into conversation with Ali that went far longer than I think either of us would have expected. He has shown me a depth of character and personal integrity, I find extremely rare. And, I was a first time customer with no previous contact. One week after the repairs, the car is running great and I suspect they might have done one or two additional "quick-fixes" that I wasn't charged for, or even made aware of. I will most definitely continue bringing my car to A&E and have already started sending friends there. THANK YOU ALI !

I went on youtube and sent Ramses the video describing it was the ignition switch rather than the starter motor. I said to him 'are you 100% sure it's only the starter motor'? His response was'yes'. Then he had my vehicle towed to Hyndai in Colma and they verified it was indeed the ignition switch. I never was billed for the starter motor Ramses installed, nor the towing that he paid for. I never heard back from him regarding his incorrect diagnosis.
