They decided it was too close to the sidewall to patch (that was my initial thought too so I wasn't surprised they changed their mind). Got both back tires replaced (my choice, they were going to just do one) and was done all within 45min, including me wavering away for baklava next door. Staff was all super friendly, efficient and no pressure at all to upsell anything.

Since I was already there, I went ahead with the tires they had available. About 20 minutes after leaving, I told my husband what happened and he said I should have waited to get the same set of Bridgestone tires. I had no idea, since I'm not knowledgeable about tires. I immediately called Johnny back and asked if I could speak to a manager to see if they could make an exception since I had just left the shop. He told me that once the tires leave the shop, they are considered used--even though they sell used tires--and that the only option would be to purchase a new set. That would have cost me about $700 more, on top of the $300 I had already spent, totaling around $1,000. I was disappointed they couldn't make any adjustment, especially since no guidance or recommendations were provided upfront--Johnny only mentioned that Bridgestone wasn't in stock. These options weren't discussed when I called the day before either. As a customer, I relied on their expertise, and I feel important information that could have helped me make a better decision was missing. Because of that, the overall experience was disappointing, especially after my husband had left a good review.

Informed a rep of my situation, we walked to my vehicle, showed him my tire issue, he jacked up my car, removed the tire, showed me the nail, and he said "no problem, I'll remove the nail, patch it, and you should be good." I didn't see any of his old crew also making the move as I used to be a regular at his old shop. He told me most went to other shops or have retired. It was nice to see Simon at least. It took an hour to do the oil change. He called me mid job that my engine and cabin air filters needed replacing. $90 (2 filters $55 and labor $35.) I said yes as I was too lazy to do it myself. It would have have taken too much effort to buy the filters myself and install it. ($22 for the engine and $10 for the cabin filter Amazon prices.) There was a slight mishap as they charged me for a synthetic oil change whereas I only got a regular oil change. The billing mechanic (not Simon) messed up. I caught it on the receipt and they had to refund me $26. Otherwise good job everyone at Sunset 76 Auto Repair. Be sure to check your receipt.

And highly detailed and professional work! $10 for the cleaning, so $50 out the door! Mechanic asks if I'm patching or replacing, and I say replace. Go in and do the paper work and head to the back (with my lunch, you never know how long on a saturday mid-day). Pretty soon the office manager comes in and says they can probably patch if I want, no promises. Sure great, I say, give it a try. Sure enough, they saved me 80% of what I expected to pay. They had plenty of chance to do the higher cost service and chose to to do what was best for me instead. Respect Tl; dr: fast, good price, polite. Will go there again
