Kani Events made our wedding absolutely MAGICAL! We cannot say enough amazing things about Crichton and the entire Kani Events team! We booked their complete party package, which included our officiant, MC, and DJ, plus a really cool DJ booth with our photo and name, uplighting, ceremony and cocktail hour music, and more! Honestly, choosing them was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From the very beginning, the entire planning process was so organized, professional, and seamless. Everything was communicated clearly, and Crichton made us feel confident that all the little details were being taken care of. As the wedding day got closer, we could see everything we had planned finally coming together, and watching it all unfold was truly magical. But what made Crichton so special was how much he celebrated with us. He wasn't just our officiant, MC, and DJ, he genuinely felt like someone we had known for years. He brought such a fun, warm, and personal energy to our wedding, and you could tell he truly wanted us to have the best night possible. His energy and vibe was warm and welcoming like he blended in with our family and friends! He also did an AMAZING job bringing our entire party together. From keeping the reception flowing to getting everyone on the dance floor, he knew exactly how to read the room and keep the energy going. Our family and friends could not stop talking about him afterward. We heard nothing but amazing things about Crichton and how much fun he was! One of the biggest compliments we can give is that he made us feel like guests at our own wedding. We didn't have to worry about what was happening next or whether everything was being handled, we were able to actually relax, enjoy ourselves, dance, celebrate, and soak in every moment with our family and friends. That is priceless on your wedding day. Crichton is the perfect combination of professional, organized, fun, personable, and genuinely caring. His team was also absolutely incredible and did such an awesome job working together to make everything run smoothly. If you are planning a wedding or ANY large event, we would HIGHLY recommend Kani Events! They truly know how to put on an unforgettable event, and we are so grateful they were such a huge part of ours. Thank you, Crichton and the entire Kani Events team, for helping make our wedding everything we dreamed it would be and more! Crichton and his team were absolutely incredible. From start to finish, Crichton kept our guests engaged, energized, and on the dance floor all night long. His emceeing was seamless, fun, and perfectly timed, and the overall vibe he created was exactly what we hoped for. One of our favorite parts was seeing him and his team genuinely getting into the ambiance too--at one point they were even dancing alongside us toward the end of the night, which somehow made everyone even more hyped. You can truly tell they love what they do, and it shows. We couldn't recommend Kani Events enough! read more

Where to start! My honey and I got married two weeks ago and could not have pulled off our rager without Crichton and his team!! We had a wedding of about 200 guests from all over the map and spanning three generations, so it was important for us to find an emcee and a dj who could make everyone laugh/dance/cry all the things. Upon interviewing Crichton about a year out, we were immediately impressed by his kindness and charisma. He was great at listening to our wants and vision and made us feel like he could deliver whatever we wanted. Which he did!! We received so many compliments at our wedding for the awesome sound, seamless emcee job (no cringey uncles here), and incredible ability to make everyone feel like they were integral to the party atmosphere. Thank you so so much for making our day special!!! Absolutely do not hesitate to hire Kani Events for any occasion!! read more

Oh boy, what to say about my experience with Kani Events. First off I have worked with Crichton for years as a fellow vendor and let me tell you, he is the best of the best!!! Every wedding we worked together I saw how happy the B&G were to have him in their corner. So when it came to planning my wedding, of course he was the first vendor I booked!  Kani Events were able to handle all logistics thrown their way - setting up sound at 2 separate locations for the ceremony and reception; provided sound for 2 different solo musicians and a main live band... THE GREEN! Keep in mind this was in the backyard of my family's home, so it was full hands on deck to make sure we had sufficient power & didn't blow out any circuits during the event.. but Crichton & his team were able to handle everything with ease. They went above & beyond to make sure our day went exactly how we envisioned.  Not only is Crichton very knowledgeable in his craft, he is so down to earth and personable. He really makes you feel like family! If you booked him for DJ and sound, you must book him for your MC. I love the balance he has of professionalism, helping guide the timeline throughout the night, while keeping it fun for guests in the most genuine way. I have only the best things to say about Crichton and his team. We plan to use them for other events in the future and will always recommend them to others. The only thing I wish we did was take a photo with the team and had more time to dance the night away. Nevertheless, it was the perfect day for us! Thank you so much Crichton!! We love you guys & can't wait to work with you again in the future!! read more

My husband Jon and I got married in September 2025 and we had Crichton Uale with Kani Events act as our officiant, DJ, AND emcee! We were planning a destination wedding and the moment we met Crichton on zoom, we knew he was a perfect fit for us because it felt like we knew him for years! He has such genuine, authentic, amazing energy that is perfect for weddings. Also, the continuity of having him play all 3 roles was really great from beginning to end. We've had so many guests come up to us after the fact and tell us that they absolutely loved Crichton. Highly recommend! You won't regret having Crichton and his team be part of your special day! read more

Crichton was an incredible Emcee for my husband and I's wedding. He also helped with sound and music during my ceremony. He was considerate, cautious, caring, respectful, kind. I could go on and on. He helped make sure everything was planned down the T and even ensured that things were taken care of that I hadn't thought of. His crew was efficient, and prompt. I couldn't have asked for a better Emcee. read more

Kani Events - Ceremony sound set up. - DJs Near Me - Ewa Beach, Hawaii

When we said we wanted a rager with 300 of our closest family and friends, Kani Events understood the assignment! Crichton and his team were amazing to work with and accommodated our every request. We had a lot of different parts to our wedding and they made sure everything went without a hitch. Crichton's set up was perfect for our large outdoor venue and even though we had a lot of folks standing in the back for the ceremony, they were able to hear us loud and clear. I didn't realize how much sound equipment could make or break a wedding ceremony until we went to a few where we could barely hear what was going on. We were very thankful to have Crichton and his team! We also had a family friend do live music for our reception and Crichton was very organized and brought in equipment that they were able to hook up to. The sound transitions (and I'm guessing equipment transitions to different areas around the venue) from our ceremony to our cocktail hour to our reception, between our playlists and the live music were so seamless, I didn't even notice what they did... :D Just that no matter where we were in the day, the music and mics were on point for what was happening at that time. :) Crichton made sure our entire program ran sooo smoothly with his expert MC skills. We had a bit of a lengthy one, with games, speeches, a bonzai, and a shot toast from the bride and groom. Throughout the night, he added little quips here and there, playing off of the speeches and games. He was so personable, yet professional, that all of our guests, young adults and elderly, loved him. As many times as you may review the timeline, other things always pop up! We love how Crichton was also super flexible in making spur of the moment announcements as needed without interrupting the flow of the program. The music throughout the rest of the night was perfect. Kani Events kept the energy of the crowd going and let their music choices speak for themselves. They even worked with my husband when he said he wanted to do a spontaneous karaoke moment to sing Angel by Shaggy to me in front of the entire group. The dance floor was PACKED. We really had our dream wedding rager that we always wanted and we are still getting stellar reviews about how much of a great time everyone had thanks to Kani Events. All that being said, Crichton has been a longtime family friend of my husbands. He DJ'd and did the sound for my husband's grad party in 2009 as well as my sister in law's wedding many years ago. They both speak so highly of him and how not only is he a talented DJ and emcee, but a great human being. It was our honor and pleasure to work with him. For big one-in-a-lifetime events like this, there is nobody else we would have trusted more. read more

If we could give Crichton more than 5 stars, we absolutely would! He was our officiant, MC, and DJ -- truly a one man show who completely made our wedding unforgettable. From start to finish, Crichton went above and beyond in every way possible. He came highly recommended by our wedding planner, who told us, "If I were getting married, he's the only person I'd want." We were curious how one person could do it all... but wow, did he ever exceed our expectations. Crichton met with us multiple times to go over every detail, responded to every email, call, and even those late-night bridezilla texts! We wanted to incorporate a lot of Hawaiian culture into our ceremony, and he absolutely nailed it -- it was heartfelt, meaningful, and so authentic. Our guests are still talking about how amazing he was. The dance floor was LIT all night long, thanks to him! When we look back on our wedding, we're still blown away by how special he made it. Crichton didn't just meet our expectations -- he redefined them. We're forever grateful for him and how he turned the best day of our lives into something truly magical. As we were planning our wedding and looking for DJs, Crichton came highly recommended to us by a local friend. During our first conversation, we hit it off instantly and we KNEW he had to be our DJ!! Leading up to the wedding, Crichton and his team were greatly responsive when we had questions, and made the planning process super smooth. Crichton himself met with us and really took the time to get to know us, and plan every little detail to our wedding day. As for the wedding day itself... WOW!! Crichton was an excellent DJ, MC, and his vibe and energy really helped make it such a perfect night for us and our guests. His DJ set list was perfect. By the end of the night, Crichton really felt like one of "the family."' I truly can't recommend Crichton enough as a DJ. My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal celebration on Oahu. Coming from Chicago, I relied on Disney Aulani's planning team to review a list of pre-vetted vendors. When I did my separate research on their shortlisted vendors, Kani Events was my number one choice. And we chose right! Crichton was such a great MC and he knew just how to integrate my specially-curated Chicago House Music Playlist. I danced and sweated out my dress and hair dancing the entire reception - literally partying like it was 1999 - the height of my clubbing years. And that's exactly the vibe I wanted. I wish they could easily travel to the mainland so I could have them DJ future events. Look no further... if you're in Oahu, this is the team you want at your event. read more

There are truly no words big enough to express how grateful we are for Crichton and the Kani Events team. Having Crichton as our wedding DJ and emcee wasn't just a great choice--it was one of the very best decisions we made for our entire day. From the very first conversation, he made choosing our songs and program for the entire day feel effortless. The planning process for our program was so easy and relaxed because he was always very organized, thoughtful, and professional. We knew we picked the best DJ and emcee from the start. But nothing could have prepared us for just how magical he made our wedding day. An emcee truly sets the tone for how the whole event is going to go and Crichton set the tone perfectly. Our wedding day ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all included a mix of both DJ and live music. Crichton managed it all flawlessly. The set-ups of different performance spaces were professionally put together and operated perfectly. From the song choices to the enchantment of the up lights that lit up our venue in the best way, Crichton just knew exactly what to do and say to bring together the whole vibe. Crichton didn't just play music throughout the evening; he listened, adapted, and truly read the crowd in a way that made the whole night feel alive. Every transition was so smooth, every moment felt intentional, and when the dancing started... no one wanted to stop! We genuinely danced the night away in bliss, surrounded by joy, energy, and songs that felt so perfectly us. Our guests are still talking about how fun the night was, and so much of that is because of him. Crichton brought heart, warmth, and an energy that made the entire celebration unforgettable. We are endlessly thankful for the care he poured into our special day. We'll cherish all the special moments he made on our wedding day forever. My husband and I got married back on May 2025 and we had the honor of having Crichton and his team at Kani Events for our DJ of both our ceremony and reception. We were referred to him by one of our vendors because she had worked with him multiple times and I'm so glad we connected with him! From our first call and to this day, he's been so easy to talk to! He even sent his mixes and we knew we had to have him for our special day. I'm so glad he did this because all the things we were looking for, he made it happened. Working with Crichton and the Kani Events team was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They took the time to understand our music style, listened to every preference (even granted our wish by hiring a live musician to play on our wedding day too) and executed the timeline of our day flawlessly. Crichton made it a priority to understand the relationships we had with those giving speeches (which was such a nice/personal touch that we didn't even think of, but we appreciated it so much). Kani Events - Told him to let the fro free and he did. It was vibes ! - DJs Near Me - Ewa Beach, Hawaii

We found Perfect Wedding DJs on Instagram while searching for vendors for our Oahu destination wedding. Off the bat, we loved the fact that the company encompassed all the services we needed- DJ, MC and an officiant. While my (now) husband was not able to join the initial consultation call with Crichton, I immediately felt confident that they were the vendor to go with-Crichton was super nice, personable, and professional. He asked me questions that made me not feel like just another "number" but a respected client. While he did mention that he personally wasn't available to officiate & MC for our wedding date, he assured us that we would have an amazing officiant, MC, and of course, DJ. The team at PWDs s was very organized and helped us keep on top of deciding songs for the ceremony and reception. I like that they created a google sheet that outlined everything we needed to think about, months out! Chris, our DJ, was also amazing to work with, and totally understood our vibe and vision for what kind of celebration we wanted to have. While there were changes to our officiant and MC close to the wedding date (1.5 month out,) we trusted the process and the team delivered! We couldn't have imagined a better person than Kelehua to officiate. We loved that she incorporated Hawaiian and Filipino traditions into our ceremony, which meant so much to us. It was so heartfelt and meaningful, just a great start to the wedding festivities. Our MC, Justin really hyped up our wedding party and ALL the guests. He knows how to MC a party! Honestly, his MC-ing really helped make our wedding a night to remember, and for that we are so thankful. Lastly, we added uplighting through PWD and it was the cherry on top to our wedding at Kualoa Ranch, Moli'i Gardens. We highly recommend adding uplighting, you won't regret it. We are so happy to have worked with PWD. Thank you so much for helping us bring our wedding vision to a life. read more

Kani Events - Crichton as our officiant on our special day. - DJs Near Me - Ewa Beach, Hawaii

We hired Crichton for our destination LouLu Palms wedding as our DJ and Officiant and he was beyond expectations. From our first video meeting he had the exact vibes we were looking for and was extremely personable, fun, professional, and clearly experienced. As a DJ, he created the BEST dance party of our dreams. He played all the songs we requested but also mixed in other songs that kept the party going. Crichton and his crew were dancing and singing along and having so much fun with us - it really set the tone for a dance party like no other. As an Officiant, Crichton had the perfect mix of sweet and funny and managed to incorporate really fun statements from both of us that were unexpected. It can be nerve wrecking hiring an officiant that doesn't know you prior but you have NOTHING to worry about when hiring Crichton and his team. True professionals without being stuffy. They embody the aloha vibes you want at your wedding! All my guests absolutely loved Crichton. You're missing out if you don't book him for the hawaii wedding! read more

We had the Perfect Wedding DJs as our DJ and sound for our Loulu Palm wedding and they were amazing! Besides some hiccups due to our complicated setup (see below), everything went off without a hitch - Crichton was very attentive to our song and music requests, even playing a song we mentioned off-hand in a speech as the perfect closer to our dance party! Highly recommend. Our setup was a bit complicated as we played electric guitars for a "first jam" instead of a first dance. We confirmed with Crichton in our initial call that he could provide two mics for us, and that we'd be able to plug in both guitars' aux cables. Closer to the event, another staff member suggested this would cost extra, but Crichton clarified that based on our previous verbal agreement it was included. The day of, we realized Crichton didn't have a distortion filter on his soundboard (needed for the Green Day punk song we played) - luckily we had brought a mini headphone amp that had distortion and Crichton was able to route the output through his soundboard. All that to say, Crichton and everyone are very flexible and accommodating to the best of their abilities, but if you have something nonstandard, clarify exactly what you need in writing - ideally in the contract. read more

Crichton and his crew were incredible for our wedding in Hawaii. Hiring a DJ without ever meeting them in person is always a challenge but from our initial meeting up to the wedding, Crichton made it so easy and treated us like family. We didn't want to be super specific on song choices but more for a certain vibe and Crichton definitely delivered as many of our wedding guests said they had never been to a wedding that played "Rachet Bay Area", We also had guests that told us they never dance at weddings but loved the music so much that they were dancing at our wedding. 5/5 would hire or recommend Crichton to anyone looking for a DJ. read more
