Today is Friday and I am finally free from pain after a week of constant, radiating. throbbing…read moreaching pain from a molar gone bad located in my lower jaw... My dentist in Turlock referred me. Thank God. Here's some of what I loved & appreciated today about my experience: +Appointment available +The private parking lot area was clean, free from debris & beautifully manicured & well maintained. +Everyone was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly +The office was immaculately clean & peaceful. I LOVE the quiet. +Fee's for what my mouth required; fair without gouging +The skill of the doctor; is outstanding! He hurt me not once and didn't hold back from ensuring the pain medication injections were sufficient prior to beginning the root canal. +Dr. Brar took into consideration the medications I take with no shaming. +The "test" to identify which tooth was causing me all the nerve pain; was painfully uncomfortable YET super-swift because he knows how painful it is and doesn't want to cause undue suffering. +He & she, the awesomely skilled and empathic hygienist, worked beautifully together; mutual respect was present and they were in sync. This was awesome. She prepared me from the start as to what to expect which included her verbal explanations as to what was going to occur next; step by step even during the procedure. This calmed me greatly. + CARE Credit - They accept it & it is a fantastic legitimate method for me for funding medical needs and so much more. + I felt safe, appreciated, and understood by Dr. Brar and his super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful dental assistant. Decades ago, as an adult, I had just one root canal in Stockton by someone from hell and it was the most painful, humiliating, insensitive, traumatic, and miserable treatment I have had to date. I experienced none of this here at Valley Endodontics. Prior to today, this was the first time in this Modesto dental endodontic office. I received a polite telephone call yesterday from the office with an available morning appointment today; I jumped at it because the unhappy nerves in my mouth were making existence very uncomfortable & unbearable. I do not have employer-sponsored dental insurance so I fund my own dental plan through Delta Dental and have for going on 3 years now & they accept it. The out-of-pocket was about 50% less than the total fees for today which included a complete root canal. I was ecstatic and pleasantly surprised. I received the estimate for the root canal for one molar prior to the procedure today and was able to use my loved and appreciated; Care Credit Mastercard as they accept it plus because the purchase was greater than $200, I qualified for 6 months of interest-free. I have had my Care Credit card going on for 3 years now and I LOVE IT! It also recently began offering "points"; another benefit for me. It works at my veterinarian, in Tracy, CA, and ER Veterinarian Hospital in Turlock, CA, and depending on your provider can even fund some cosmetic dentistry; it's a lifesaver. I am comfortable referring people in need of this provider's dental services with zero qualms. I was super satisfied today & still am over 10 hours after the root canal was completed and now at 24+ hours after the procedure; I'm still pain-free (no more Tylenol needed) and can eat and drink all temperatures with zero pain.

Dr Brar and his office are very unprofessional. My husband drove 50 minutes for an appointment only…read moreto be told Dr Brar was out sick and he needed to reschedule. My husband started his 50 minute drive the following week for the make up appointment and was told AGAIN that Dr Brar will be out sick for the rest of the week. Why on earth can't the front office call in advance!?! In addition to blatantly missing and not rescheduling appointments in advance, looks like Dr Brar may not have sealed my husband's crowns properly after doing two root canals. There is something seriously wrong with this DDS and his office. They need to go back to school for the basics on how to run a business.

I have been a patient at Dr. Rosenbaum and Associates for roughly 20 years, which makes it…read moredisappointing to write this review, but the practice has changed dramatically and not for the better. Over two decades, I have seen more than 10 different dentists come and go. That level of turnover alone suggests there are internal culture issues. About 10 years ago, one dentist told me I had decay visible on an X-ray and recommended a crown. I agreed. After grinding my tooth down to a nub, he said to the assistant, "Huh, there is no decay." That procedure still cost me around $600 out of pocket even with insurance. I filed a formal complaint with the office manager at the time. That manager is no longer there either. In the past couple of years, the entire staff has been replaced. My longtime hygienist left, and I was assigned a new one. She was very young but polite and did a decent job. I would rate her about a 7.5 out of 10. The issue is not the individual staff members. It is the overall experience and direction of the practice. This office used to feel welcoming. Everyone knew my name, and I knew theirs. It felt personal. Now it feels like a corporate assembly line. Even the patient volume seems to reflect this change. Years ago, parking was difficult to find and the waiting room was full. Now there are plenty of open parking spaces and far fewer patients waiting. At every visit, they now require you to complete a full medical history on an iPad, even if you have been a patient for decades and nothing has changed. I found this intrusive and asked if I could opt out and simply notify them of any changes, especially since I was only there for X-rays and a routine cleaning. The staff member handing me the iPad rolled her eyes and walked away. Another staff member later told me they would not see me unless I completed it and claimed this was required by federal HIPAA law. After researching this myself, I learned this is their internal policy, not a legal requirement. In other words, I was misinformed. I would have absolutely disclosed any relevant health changes, particularly anything that could affect anesthesia, even though no anesthesia was being used that day. The interaction felt unnecessary, cold, and dismissive. After that visit, I canceled my next appointment and booked with a new dentist closer to my home. I am genuinely looking forward to a fresh start. It is unfortunate to walk away after 20 years, but this practice no longer feels like the place it once was.

The dental assistant Jessica was amazing but as for the "endodontist" that's a hard no. I thought…read moreif you study a speciality beyond just general dentistry then the expectation is you should know what you're doing but the dentist made me feel very uncomfortable by appearing unsure of if he'd be able to complete a root canal which made me unsure if I want an unsure questionable root canal not provided with more confidence. Also, I'm not a doctor but I am a LMFT who's worked in the psych world for 20 years. Because of the meds I take, that I'm aware of a low to no risk of a negative drug interaction and quite frankly, I'm prescribed by my prior general dentists to minimize my anxiety about going to the dentist...and then a specialist who first said he would prescribe something and I could come back the next day except he than felt uncomfortable prescribing because of what I take. The endodontist I ultimately went with who I've seen in the past who is out of network (so I paid a lot more) was accommodating and confident. He did prescribe the medication and I asked are there any negative interactions between my meds and what he was giving me and he said exactly what I said to the geer endodontist which was there is no worry as the meds fall under different drug classes that are often prescribed together as a combination because they do not counteract each other. So, the uncertainty and someone who's uncomfortable prescribing a medication he initially said he would then wouldn't because he doesn't have licenses and certifications to do so or just doesn't understand the low to no risk for contraindications according to medicinal guidelines should be categorized as not a specialist in my opinion. I'd give 1 star but Jessica deserves an added star.
