I have heard about this place for sometime, but never was able to try it because of the hours and my schedule. However, today was my lucky day - I was available and they were open! This location is located in a small shopping center off of Capital Blvd. There is plenty of parking overall, however, it might not be right in front of the location if its a busy time of day. I really wish I wouldn't have visited Kandy Apples by K today. Not because I didn't like what I purchased but because I LOVED what I purchased. Which is a great thing. I cannot put the candy grapes down and walk away without them calling my name and me going back. Each time telling myself to just eat one more. Feeling a bit like a Pringles commercial over here. Ok, so I am in Charlotte, but I follow foodie pages all over. Kandy Apples by K has been filling my Instagram timeline with colorful treats forever and I kept saying I'll get to Raleigh eventually so I can stop drooling on my phone. Well I finally made the drive (with these gas prices! I know right.) And let me tell you, the space is so clean, so bright, so inviting and the ladies working were very sweet. I had no idea what I wanted because everything looked amazing. I got some expert opinions and got a variety of things. As soon as I hopped back in the car, I had to try a candy grape. The smell alone was intoxicating and the taste was a wonderful mix of sweet and sour candy with a burst of freshness from the fresh fruit. I pretty much frequent K's weekly. It's well worth the drive from Chapel Hill. I love the candied grapes and flavor varieties. The pineapple is hands down my absolute favorite!!! And the pineapple grapes?!!! Oh....emmmm.....geeee. My next favorite was the key lime but I've only seen it once. I look forward to seeing the different flavors and candies fruits. I had one place in mind when deciding what to get my daughter, niece and sister a Valentines gift. The interior is small but modern and bright. There was a good variety of candy apples to choose from. I swear I wanted to get one of everything. Since it was fall, I had been craving something caramel and found myself nearby Kandy Apples by K. Due to their Covid protocols, we had a small wait to get inside. They are only allowing in three customers at a time, which I totally appreciate. They had an incredible selection of candied apples, grapes, delectable chocoloate covered caramel apples in varieties I couldn't even dream up. We scooped up a Heath bar apple and a jolly rancher one, so we could try both the caramel and candied apple varieties. They were easy to slice up and so delicious. The perfect mix of tart and sweet! Stopped by after seeing the "Candy Apples" signage. They are currently only allowing 3 people in at a time (Covid safety protocol) I went in the afternoon so a lot of the items were out. However I was able to try the nerd covered grapes (believe it or not they were delicious) We also got a turtle candy apple (it was just... ok) The lone worker was ok, however being as it was my first time there, I asked for suggestions and she wasn't very talkative or helpful. Maybe she was tired... I don't know. However, it would've been a better experience had the mood been lighter. So delicious! I had been following them on Instagram and decided to finally place an order. During COVID-19 you can order online for a certain pickup day. You just pull up the shop and call their number (clearly labeled on all the signs) to let them know you are outside-- then they bring your apples right out. I went with the traditional candy apple and the turtle candy apple, both super delicious! I'd say if you want to eat it bit by bit the turtle apple did better once cut into vs the traditional. Makes sense, since the sugar starts to melt from the moisture in the cut apple bag on the traditional. I would definitely order from here again when I felt in the mood for a candy apple. Are they inexpensive? Definitely not, but they are delicious! First time going yesterday and only because I ran into one of my old coworkers in the mall and she had the pineapple in her hand eating it.
