On the left side of the windows you'll see the Spanish names for the meats offered, the right side has the English names. Get the pastor (pork) and chicken, such good flavor! The "head" option is when they roast the whole head of the cow, not sure what that means exactly but I did try it one time, a little too far out of my comfort zone. The picnic tables out front offer cucumbers and radishes to cool down your mouth from the intense hot sauces (green and red), I avoid both cause they're a bit too much for me. The table also has onions and peppers which I load up on my tacos and pico de gallo. Don't forget to eat the sweet caramelized onion offered on each taco purchase! Since this is located on Pleasantburg it can be a heck of a deal to turn left out of here. Make sure you cut through the back road Sweetbriar and across the parking lot of Bi-LO to get onto E. North St instead to turn left easy.

What you're…read moregonna do is walk to the back... then hang a left like you're entering a side quest in a video game. Hidden back there is one of the most authentic Mexican spots I've found in the Greenville area. Nobody spoke English, but honestly, that just made me trust the food more. Google Translate clocked in for its shift and we navigated ordering from the menu just fine. Order Plate #2 (The Costilla de Puerco en salsa verde) was ridiculously good; super flavorful with just the right amount of heat. The asada tacos were also solid, and 4 for $13 in this economy feels like finding buried treasure. Don't sleep on the Horchata; finally a place that sells horchata that's not watered down! 10/10 would absolutely get lost in the grocery store again.

Of course, the brand selection is not as big as a grocery store in Japan, but the range of different products is quite good. We eat it with brown rice and a katsuo ume - a type of pickled plum they carry with a cup of green tea. It may sound trite but it all goes together very well. I have successfully made several Japanese dishes with ingredients from this store (thanks to justonecookbook.com). I can now make home-made miso soup!! They have several different flavors of mochi ice cream. The candy/snack isle is well-stocked. There is a large selection of frozen foods. My husband is diabetic and was trying to get away from soda. He found the Ito En teas that are unsweetened. He likes the green tea but prefers the Oolong (it is lighter in flavor). He drinks these all the time now. They have a nice selection of Miso pastes including some that are organic. The seasonings and sauces isle has a lot of choices. We also buy our brown rice here. It seems a little expensive, but the quality is a noticeable difference from stuff you can get at any American grocery store. The owner is so nice and friendly. She is eager to help with any questions you may have like which rice would go best with curry and which is better to eat by itself. She told us which natto brand was preferred by most - Okame (and I agree it does have the best flavor). It may be a small store, but it is a hidden treasure here in the Upstate! Also try the restaurant next door - Sushi Masa. Very authentic food and atmosphere. I see the cooks sneaking in and out of Tanpopo. Sushi Masa uses the stuff Tanpopo sells, so you know it's of good quality (and also really convenient!).

The best description is to think of the more abundant in number Asian oriented markets in our area and their wide vareity of interesting and unusual foods over a very wide array of varieties and then to imagine if that were a European (Eastern and Western) version of the same. That is what Eurostor is like. Accompanied by a deli case for some prepared options to go. There is no seating area for dining on the premises. This is more of a grocery store. I did not purchase anything due to time and being overwhelmed, but hopefully some photos will help be to research some options to target on a return visit. I would imagine also, if you are from EU and expat here in Greenville, this would be a very exciting store to visit and a reminder of home.

I spent $97 at Tomato Vine on Saturday, with nearly half of that ($45) going toward two soursop…read morefruits. Within a day, both soursops molded--one I refrigerated, and the other I left out because it looked ripe. I called ahead before returning them and calmly explained the situation. The man who answered the phone (owner or manager, I assume) immediately got rude, called me ignorant for not knowing how to store soursop, and hung up on me while I was still trying to speak. When I arrived at the store with the spoiled fruit (one cut open and one whole), the experience only got worse. He berated an elderly employee right in front of me, saying he would dock his pay for giving me no guidance about ripeness. It was heartbreaking to witness that kind of treatment. I wasn't asking for a full refund--just a respectful exchange--but instead, I was humiliated and talked down to. He refunded me $21 for the whole fruit and nothing for the cut one, then told me to "stay away from his soursop" because I "don't know how to handle it." Everyone starts somewhere when trying new fruits, and a real professional would educate their customers, not insult them. There are plenty of other places to buy high-quality soursop with better service--like the Charlotte farmers market vendors who are there every Saturday on 3930 Brookshire Blvd. who treat you like a human being. I won't be returning here and I highly advise others to take their business elsewhere.
