The lighting could be a bit brighter. The food- can't really classify them into any particular style. They serve pretty much every style of Asian dishes including Japanese, Koran, Chinese, Thai. Has pretty much the most popular dish from each region. I went with the rule of don't try random stuff and go for the dish that's recommended. The beef noodle soup was for sure a good choice. The broth was hearty, hint of spiciness, good amount of noodles and thinly sliced beef. Very well cooked and essentially melts in your mouth. The chicken laksa was not as good as what you can get from a Malaysian restaurant north of Bombay. The drinks- bubble tea.. The service- friendly, no complaint.

Although this is more an Asian restaurant as opposed to being specifically Chinese, we were pleasantly surprised by the taste of the food since the selection was so broad and not as specialized/specific. We ordered a variety of dishes to share amongst our party of 6 and everything was pretty good. The servers were nice and pleasant, the food was pretty good, and the prices are reasonable. I would recommend checking this place out. (My mom and aunts wanted to come back again the next night which was a no-go considering we were in Rotorua by then and were not going to drive back).

My husband has been here on a number of occasions, but I finally just got around to coming here…read moremyself about a week ago. We came during the "lunch rush," time. My husband and I usually joke that a good Chinese restaurant has menus in Chinese, only chopsticks and lots of Chinese people eating at it. This place didn't fall short. I will start by saying that you need to get past the exterior of this restaurant and go inside and give it a try. If you were just driving or walking by, it looks like a bit of a dump from the outside. So, I was pleasantly surprised that the inside was much nicer and cute. The menu had tons of options to choose from. I was feeling under the weather, so I opted for a bowl of handmade noodle soup with chicken. It was really tasty. My only qualm is that the chicken was served with the skin on and attached to the bone. I realize this probably really helps the flavor of the soup, but it's a pain when you're trying to eat a bowl of soup and have to fish out pieces to eat with your hands. Also, the bones were jagged in some places and I got a bit fearful of accidentally swallowing chicken bone shrapnel by the end of my bowl. That said, it was really good overall. My husband was very pleased with his beef and vegetable dish and they spiced it almost to his liking (he likes things REALLY spicy). I would definitely return (probably wouldn't get the chicken soup again, but would maybe have the same dish with pork or beef instead). The noodles were great and I look forward to trying some of the other items. What is also great is that the prices are really quite fair and certainly there is a great value for your money here (large portions, low prices).

But a table of 4 at 6:30pm took about a 30 minute wait to be seated. So not too bad in my book. The E-1 Spicy Fish, Mapo Tofu, and Dan Dan hand shaven noodles were excellent! And the marinated cucumbers in garlic helped cool down my mouth as well.

We grabbed lunch here after our visit to Hamilton Gardens…read more The menu mounted on the wall included dumplings, ramen, rice and noodle dishes but also a hot pot soup/stew section that was not part of the online menu. Off to the side were refrigerators filled with fresh soy milk and other items that could be taken as to go including bags of their frozen dumplings. We grabbed our own seats inside. It took us awhile to figure out what to order and then we went to the counter to place our order. Service was good and friendly. That day we tried the following: Pan fried 20 piece assorted dumplings - Nicely crisped wrappers. The pork & prawn with chives was our favorite. Steamed pork and shrimp dumplings - Large and coated in their spicy garlic sauce. Spicy fish fillet in hot & spicy stock - Good size with lots of veggies and heat. Very reasonably priced dishes.

Not much of a selection for their yum cha service, but had the staples such as steamed pork buns, dim sum, spring rolls & prawn dumplings and free green tea. The guy who served us was friendly & overly chilled out. We had to ask for cups for the tea, even though he came over with the teapot. He wasnt rude --he was quite pleasant, but probably didnt have being a "waiter" as his dream career. Overall, not a bad experience, but not overly great either.

My order came out wrong (which is fine bc I'll eat anything) and the server never came back to see if we needed anything else. I know that's a lot of Chinese places but I wouldn't come back if they're just rude (good enough food) and there are many other options to eat nearby.
