I had the scariest experience of my life this morning. The cab driver named Kuldip (license plate VT-1659) picked me up at 6 am and parked far away from the entrance of the pick up location. It was snowing and I had 3 bags and a suitcase with me. I tried to call him over, wave and even called the dispatch multiple times. Instead of helping me he sat in the cab, let me take multiple trips to the cab to put my bags in and ran the meter up to $12. When I asked him if he could reset the meter due to the circumstances, he told me I had no other choice but to take his cab, which was true, there is only 1 cab company in Kamloops that I'm aware of and there are were no Ubers and I had a ticket to get back home for 6: 30 am. At this point it was already 6:10 am, I no longer had access to where I was staying and it was snowing. As much as I didn't want to get on his cab after dealing with him being unreasonable and slightly aggressive, I had to just give it up to bad customer service and attempt to not miss my way back home. When I was in his cab he began getting upset with me trying to dispute his charge and started driving me in circles and began to get aggressive. He started threatening to throw me out on the side of the road in the snow, yet he was also not stopping to do so. This was extremely scary when I realized I had also never given him the address of where I was going and he was driving around aimlessly, screaming at me and running up the meter more. I begged him to stop. You can see what happened in the video, but he got overly aggressive, turned around towards me (I'm not sure if this was an attempt to assault me or if that's just his typical behaviour when he's yelling) and I begged him to let me out of the cab at this point when I realized how scary the situation actually was. He started to pull into a parking lot after begging him, but still would not stop driving. I had to open the door while the car was moving and attempt to get out, that's when Kuldip finally stopped the cab and let me out, while also breaking my Labubu I just got for Christmas. I asked the other cab driver in the parking lot to help me and he just laughed at the situation and asked the other cab driver "haha Kuldip what did you do this time?" The fact that this seemed like normal behaviour for him, the dispatch did nothing to help, the other cab driver found it comical and the Kamloops police made me feel like I did something wrong when I called to try to make a report makes me very fearful of what could happen to someone whom is elderly, disabled or a minor if they were to find themselves in a similar situation. If no one can see the perspective of how this is a scary scenario - a young woman in a cab with an aggressive angry man at 6 am who has no fear of the repercussions of his actions, no one knew where I was going or who I was with, then I have given up on humanity. This should not happen to anyone and I feel like the system severely failed me. Please be careful out there. I really hope this hasn't happened to anyone else and will it happen to anyone else. read more

Well, I don't know what to write.....I called and them came, I called later, and it was a 45 min. wait. I just don't understand that. I made a reservation 30min before I needed a cab, giving myself 20extra minutes before I absolutely needed to leave. The app said that a car was 2min away, right on time - then, the car went elsewhere. this happened 4 times before I called dispatch. Hold estimates we're 1.5min, I was on there for 10. When I spoke to dispatch, she was rude and interrupted me, simply saying "nothing is guaranteed" and HUNG UP ON ME. I missed an important work event because they couldn't be bothered to update the app, commit to a reservation, or provide even the bare minimum of customer service. UNACCEPTALBE SERVICE for 96-year-old in wheelchair results in over $400 in costs. I pre-ordered 2 trips (3 days in advance) for a van taxi to transport my 96-year-old father and his power wheelchair. After the first trip was messed up (they sent a regular car and not a wheelchair van), I double-checked the 2ndtrip (to the airport) a day in advance. Both times, the dispatcher assured me it would be "no problem, no problem". When no ride arrived as scheduled, I called the dispatcher who said they can send a cab in 20 minutes but they had no van available for a wheelchair. We had no choice but to take the regular cab to the airport and leave the wheelchair in the hotel. This resulted in costs of over $400 to ship the wheelchair to Toronto. I contacted the General Manager, S. Singh, who took no accountability for our troubles. It took him several weeks to reply to my email, and he would not even give me the courtesy of a return phone call. He was unsympathetic and provided two different, conflicting excuses so I know it was total BS. He did not even provide a decent apology let alone reimburse our costs for the rides or the wheelchair transportation. Simar Singh is no General Manager in my books! read more

WE MISSED OUR FLIGHT!! Worst cab experience ever! Booked a ride to the airport for family of four, 3 days in advance, Confirmed by text (from them) and a phone call (from me) the night before as it was an early morning departure. When car didn't arrive, dispatcher eventually answered the phone after 30 minutes of calling, said they made a mistake in our booking, car was en route. Never showed up - couldn't get through to the dispatcher and never heard from Kami Kabs again. Very Disorganized and dishonest. We had to find another ride to Kamloops and to wait until the next day ($$$!) to be able to fly home. An expensive lesson not to use this cab company again. read more

Terrible service!! they RIPPED me off saying I would be splitting the cab with another person who I was not notified of at all when i made the reservation, then upon my destination he made me pay the whole trip myself which would have been the same if I had taken my own cab but I was DELAYED waiting for this other person at 12am from a very late flight. They did not care when I questioned this and was very rude over the phone as well when I called to complain of my terrible service. I will not be using this taxi service again! They were on time but the car was dirty and the front set was push so far back while sitting in the back you needed to spread your legs. Then the driver got hot ( he was wearing a heavy jacket) so he opened his window in below zero temperatures without consideration for the passengers wearing light jackets. read more

I left my iPhone in a cab, and called the dispatch in a panic. Not only was the dispatcher helpful, but the cab driver returned my iPhone. Exemplary service and integrity. This will always be my go to taxi company. read more

I called for a cab and was told it would take 15 mins to get to my house, 40 mins later the driver called to ask if I was still waiting. He said he would be there in "2 mins". 4 mins later he finally showed up, the cab was filthy both inside and out while the interior reeked of BO and cat spray and the back seat belt was partially broken. When we finally got to my destination the driver refused to offer any kind of a discount and still had the gaul to expect a tip! I will NEVER use kami cabs again and I highly sudgest you dont use them either. read more

Not only the worst cab experience but worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life. Initially I phoned Kami Cabs to make a future booking for a cab as I was heading to the bus station and wanted to eliminate any worry. Alas they do not take reservations on weekends. Fine enough. I then phoned with an 1.5 hours to spare and booked my cab. The operator said it would be 20 minutes so I was looking forward to being nice and early to the bus depot. 20 minutes passes. 40 minutes passes. I phone to confirm they have the correct address and the operator assures me that I am 1st in line and the cab will be 5 minutes. Another 20 minutes pass at which point I phone again and state that it is very important for my cab to arrive as soon as possible. The operator barks that it is on its was hangs up on me. It has now been 2.5 hours and I have not received any calls or messages on the status of my cab. I have missed my bus forcing me to rebook a new ticket for tomorrow and I have missed the first day of my vacation. I am deeply upset by this experience mainly because in Kamloops we have no options except two extremely poorly run cab companies. I should note that while this was happening I had a second cab booked with yellow cab and the exact same experience. Essentially cab service in Kamloops is atrocious. Completely unreliable. If you have anywhere to go but the bar do not use a cab. They clearly have no sense of time or urgency and I hope that alternative services will be added for British Columbians as soon as possible. read more

Service sucks. I tried calling Kami Cabs twice but no answer. Sometimes their service varies, some days they'll only take 5 minutes. Other days they will take up to 45 minutes. I would not recommend unless you want to waste your time. read more

Was told my cab was five minutes away, for two hours. I sat on the side of the road like an idiot. I watched my flight take off without me and had time to think about my choice of Kam Cabs. I had to purchase a new flight and wait at the airport for four hours. I called the cab two hours before my flight thinking that would be enough time for a 20 min cab. Called and complained, they told me to hold for manager then forwarded me to voice mail. Awesome customer service. These guys are TERRIBLE! It's like the try hard to be bad. read more

I required three taxis over the week and each time was rewarded with prompt times and helpful drivers. All three drivers helped with my luggage and every taxi was clean. I will use the company again when I'm in Kamloops. read more

People need to know about this so called company!!! I have to say I have worked in the hospitality industry for 25 years. Kami Cab's Male dispatcher has absolutely no personal skills to say the least. He actually argues with you and all I did is call him back after 45 minutes waiting when he quoted me 20-25 minutes he actually hung up on me ....... if I were you I would not give this company 1 cent I would recommend taking the bus instead of giving them anything they don't deserve to be in business. This company is discussing the night before I ordered a cab and it didn't even show up ..... not even a call back... this company needs to understand how to run a hospitality business very soon as I don't think they understand who pays their pay cheque. I told the guy where to go and he took me to the other side of town even after confirming our destination five times! After we arrived at the wrong destination it was agreed that the $3 initial charge will be (at the very least) dropped, it wasn't. Even after loudly discussing poor customer service no apology was given. If you have ANY other way of transport, take it! read more
