The main dishes were similarly flavourful and complex. The only fly in the ointment was the service. It took ages to get our order taken despite the fact that there were three members of staff stood chatting by the bar. Later when we wanted our empty plates collecting and order some sweet nobody was around at all. When eventually one member of staff did arrive there were many tables that all wanted servicing creating unacceptable delays. Overall it should have been a 4/5 star review, but the poor service has dragged it down, but the food was so good I'm going to be generous and still give it 4*. Recommended, just don't be in a hurry.

I'm really surprised to see so few reviews for this excellent Indian restaurant. I guess one factor…read moreis it's location is rather out of the way, and unless you have been recommended it you are unlikely to find it by accident. That said a taxi to The Bombay Bay shouldn't be hugely expensive (and it's worth getting there) or you can take a short walk along the seafront, or from the nearest bus stop. The Bombay Bay has it's own website and as you can see from the menu online the prices are excellent value for the quality of the food. The pictures are representative of just how nicely the meals are presented. I was surprised by the generously sized portions and very pleased as all the dishes I have tried have been delicious. The restaurant is very clean with a nice atmosphere and well placed tables and for those who smoke, and those who want to enjoy the view and a spot of fresh air there is also a balcony which is a nice bonus.

It looked like it was going to rain, but it did not after all, so we could have stayed outside, as the sun came out! We got a lovely table by the window. Nothing on the menu was above £6.50. There were choice of burgers, dogs or pulled pork in a bun. I ordered the "prince charles is overrated" burger. The patty beef burger were done the way I liked it, quite charred on the outside and medium inside, in a toasted hot bun. It was succulent and tasty served on top of shredded iceberg, pickles and dirty spread (that is what it says on the menu!) and topped with crispy bacon. It also comes with cheese but I asked for no cheese. The basket of fries was a very large side dish, enough for two people to share. We ordered the chilli cheese fries which was seasoned and topped with minced beef covered in cheese and green chilli. They had an interesting "mar-grrr-eat-her" slush cocktail, but unfortunately, they had ran out of the lemon and lime slush, so I tried the local ale instead. There was a constant queue at the door and the waitresses continued to be very cheerful. Lovely and very helpful service. The bill was settled at the counter.

I've been in here loads and loads of times, never had a bad sub here yet…read more It's normally really busy (except for after about 5pm) and while they serve you quickly you normally have to queue up. It's often hard to find a place to sit, it's a relatively small place and they don't clear the tables off enough and keep on top of keeping them clean. Subway's sub of the day deal is great for £1.99 you get a nice big 6 sub. They do a number of promotions too, I've won plenty of drinks, cookies and subs that way! Their coffee and choice of soft drinks is pretty average. I like their choice of breads and the herby cheesy ones my favourite.
