Being a regional bank does have some drawbacks because we could have deposited while in another state when we had more time. But we made it, and made our deposits a day earlier than if we waited until the next day after we got home...and sometimes that is important. The teller was friendly and efficient and I walked back out to the car where my wife was waiting. The total time was under five minutes. They do have the usual drive thru's and ATM. I chose to go inside because I needed help with identification of one of our accounts and because I don't completely trust the transfer mechanism with cash!

The personal banker Lora was helpful at first but the more questions I had the more I felt unwelcome. I felt that this bank did not want my business. She was difficult to get ahold of my the phone but she may have been overworked due to the 4th of July holiday. At my third visit when I was ready to open the account. The personal banker seem very irritated that I spoke about the possibility of talking to the financial advisor. Stating and I paraphrase that it may be a waste of her time to speak with me. I choose to get up and leave vs being disrespected. Very disappointing...

There are many reasons I left, but here are the top ones: 1) Fifth Third is pulling out of small towns in SW Michigan, leaving only an ATM behind, if that. 2) At the branches I use, there's constant turnover of the tellers. To me, that means they're not paid or treated very well. 3) Corporate spends LOTS of $$ on political lobbying in Washington and Lansing. Also contributes mostly to candidates from one political party. Regular voters should have the most influence in our capitals, not corporate interests. Credit unions are typically not involved in politics. CUs serve their members, not stockholders.
