Efficient, quick and easy. Pretty comprehensive walkthrough and overall a good experience.

Amazing facility, with really helpful coaches and insights. Will be back to keep track of my progress.

Kalos has been a genuine game-changer. I was active, doing all the right things, but I'd hit a wall -- stalled progress, boring workouts, no real direction. Their data-driven approach and body scans cut right through the noise and got me moving forward fast. I'm leaner, clearer on my goals, and actually achieving them. But the real difference has been Morgan. As a coach, Morgan is exceptional -- deeply encouraging, sharp, and the kind of presence that makes you want to show up and push harder. Top notch in every sense. The coach makes all the difference, and Morgan is the real deal. Encouraging without being generic, sharp without being clinical -- Morgan has a gift for knowing exactly what you need and when you need it. That relationship is what turned my experience at Kalos from good to exceptional. The program itself is excellent too -- the data-driven approach and body scans helped me break through a plateau I'd been stuck at, and I'm far leaner and more focused on my goals than I've been in years. But Morgan is the reason I kept coming back. read more

Regret paying for a Dexa scan through this company. I was interested and signed up for this Kalos Dexa scan at an event because they told me the regular price was $150 and I could get it for a discount at $75. I should have checked their website first because the $75 really isn't a "deal" like they made it out to be. (Plus I've done more research now and there are way more companies who charge less than $75 in the Bay Area) Anyways, I had already spent the money so I came in for my appointment. I walked in about 15 minutes before my scheduled time because the email confirmation said to come early. I walked in to their SF location and there was no front desk but there was an employee sitting on the couch when I walked in (he was wearing a Kalos brand shirt and typing on a laptop.) He looked up at me and didn't say a word. I thought that was a little weird but just assumed maybe he was super busy or maybe I wasn't his next scheduled client, but still kind of odd to not greet a customer, literally the bare minimum is a "Hello, someone will be with you". We sat in silence for the next 10-15 minutes. Finally a woman comes out and introduces herself and says she'll be doing my scan today and that the man on the couch will be sitting in on the scan. Feels weird but whatever. She leads me to the back of the room which is just divided by a little room divider wall thing and starts asking me questions. First question was "what's your ethnicity?" I tell her my ethnicity and she stares at me blankly, I figured she's never heard of my ethnicity which is fine so I give her a more general answer and again get a blank stare to which she responds "So Asian?" First of all you specifically said the word "Ethnicity", you should have said "what is your race?" If you wanted me to say Asian. Anyways we move on and she starts asking me questions during the scan, some questions make sense and relate to overall health/exercise and others felt pretty random, like randomly asking me if I can do push ups with no other context, that's not really relevant to the overall conversation and why I came here to do a scan. Once the scan was done I was led to another area where I sat across from her and the man. She starts going over my results and focuses only on a handful of numbers. The actual time spent on results was minimal compared to the next 15-20 minutes where she's basically forcing a sales pitch on me to buy one of their memberships ranging from $300-$400/month with a 6month to 2 year commitment. It was clear the appointment is set up to get you to buy a membership as opposed to really explaining the Dexa scan, the results, etc. It's fine to do a sales pitch but being that pushy and aggressive for at least 15 minutes doesn't make a customer want to join. And it wasn't just me, my friend who came a month prior to do his scan said the exact same thing happened to him. I find it a bit suspicious that there are only 2 negative reviews saying the same thing. For anyone considering Kalos, I would recommend looking up other companies at a lower price. I was looking through the website later that day and found out the man who did NOT greet me was actually the manager. There needs to be more customer service training and they should also be more upfront that the "consultation" following the scan is really just an aggressive sales pitch to buy a membership. read more

Here is a more balanced 3-star version that still clearly explains what bothered you: The DEXA scan itself was quick and straightforward, and the facility was clean and professional. However, my overall experience was mixed. The person who performed my scan was not particularly friendly or welcoming, which made the appointment feel a little uncomfortable. What concerned me most was being told that I needed to write a review in order to receive my results the same day. I did not feel comfortable with that arrangement. In my opinion, receiving timely medical or body-composition results should not be tied to leaving a review, and it made the interaction feel inappropriate and somewhat questionable. The scan itself was fine, but I think the customer experience and the way reviews are requested could definitely be improved. read more

Very Easy and Very quick! Had no trouble locating the area. Came in with a few people. They were all very friendly!

Had a great experience getting my DEXA scan! The process was quick and easy, and the facility was very clean and well-maintained.

Great experience! Happy to get a scan at a reasonable rate and know more about my body composition

My husband and I went together to do a scan. We were both generally curious. First of all, the table you have to lay on was filthy. I don't think it ever gets cleaned because I could see the dirty body print from former customers. I didn't even want to lay on it. The person who did the scan also read the results. She was very focused on interpreting everything into a negative in order to sell us an exercise package (starting at $400/month). For example my bone density was well into the green so that even if I did nothing I wouldn't get into the yellow until I was 85. She made it sound like I had to worry and take immediate action now to prevent that bone loss. I said many times that I have a full team in place (dietitian, doctor, physical therapist, etc), but she just kept pushing and saying their package was designed to compliment that. Once it was clear she wasn't going to make a sale, the conversation was abruptly ended and we were handed our data sheets so we could leave. It wasn't about interpreting our results from a neutral perspective, but finding ways to spin the data for the negative so that she could sell their training package. read more

Quick and easy service, Employee was very helpful asked about why I'm doing the scan and what my goals are.

I was questioning whether my home scan is appropriate so I did this for a comparison. Well.... This is mostly my bad. I am used to metric system and gave my height wrong using feet/inches. So obviously, my measurement is way off. It is still good to see fat/muscle distribution. I am surprised that they don't include height measurement as part of the process to begin with. Same as the other review, the guy pushed really hard for workout system, despite of me repeatedly telling him that I have a home gym and do my own regimen given kids commitment and busy work time. He still pushed for me to get gym membership and do their program. I told him factually that I tried gym before and it didn't work for my schedule. It turns out that my home scan is pretty accurate overall. I won't try here again. read more

Thomas was great! very informative DEXA scan. learned a lot about my body fat and composition

Kalos was tabling at an event at the Ferry Building, and I signed up for a deal to get a DEXA Scan. Scheduling was easy, and I was able to reschedule when I wanted to change it closer to a bodybuilding competition I was participating in. Arriving at the location, I was a little surprised to find that it felt like a tiny office space. But I guess all you need is the machine and the table. Alex did the scan and made me feel comfortable. The scanning process took around 6 minutes, and then we sat down to look over results. I had done a DEXA scan two years before and brought in the results to compare. Alex was nice enough to look at both results and provide feedback. It was a very informative, non-pressured experience. I was able to see improvements in my bone density, visceral fat percentage, and overall fat percentage compared to my cohort based on age and ethnicity. If I do another DEXA scan, I would definitely come back. read more

A very quick and seamless process, was in and out within 10 minutes. Jackie was very friendly and helpful

Very seamless booking, and easy, quick and informative session. Loved the beverage options upon arrival, as I arrived a little early. The DEXA scan was helpful to get tangible information about my body composition, so I can properly work to target areas of significance. Jackie was super helpful and friendly! Definitely will come back again. read more

I just did my first DEXA scan here and Thomas really helped me out. It was a quick scan and a great experience!

The experience was very smooth and fast. All the steps were explained very nicely. Would recommend for others.

I'm very skeptical about my experience at Kalos. Transparency in advertising and conducting business is the building block for a trustworthy relationship. The scan didn't take very long but was a bit discombobulating since both the table and scanner move during the procedure. This can cause nausea for anyone with cochlear illness. When the printout was coming out of the machine my sales person said I had scoliosis. I wasn't totally straight on the table because I wasn't asked to. Nobody else has ever diagnosed me with this condition. So much for not diagnosing disease. She then took me to the cubicle of secrecy to tell me about a 24/7 availability of her to help me achieve my health goal of muscle gain. The only hands on portion is the monthly dexa scan. The services includes monthly scans and some set exercises you do on your own. Nobody who actually trains with you. Just a list of trainings for you to do solo. I'll pass. But I hope they will give me a high quality image of my dexa so I can submit to my doctor's office as a baseline. read more

Professional team, interesting and useful info, offered follow ups and guidance after the scan

Thomas was great and very helpful with my DEXA scan. The appointment was fast and straightforward. Would absolutely recommend

I'm doing the two-year Kalos program, and it has completely changed my life. Harsh helped me spot the gaps in what I was doing and showed me exactly how to set myself up for real, lasting success. Alex brings so much positivity, encouragement, and attention to detail that my training has leveled up in ways I didn't expect. I get DEXA scans every two months, and it's been amazing to watch my muscle go up, my bone density increase from heavy lifting and box jumps, and my lean mass imbalances improve each phase. Once I learned my true maintenance calories, everything clicked--I built muscle during maintenance months and now I'm cutting effectively with real, consistent progress. With Kalos programming and the added support of an amazing in-person trainer for good and safe form, I've gotten stronger, reshaped my entire physique, and gained more confidence than ever. I absolutely love this program and can't wait to hit my body fat goal so I can start the athletics phase. Kalos has been one of the best investments I've ever made in myself. read more

Initial scan is fairly priced, their goal is to sell ~$500/mo training services at the post-scan consult.

I've been working with Kalos for the past year and have seen great results!! Setting up the scans was super easy, and Alex has been incredibly responsive and will tailor the plan to your personal needs and goals read more

Had a great experience with Alex at this facility. This was my first scan, and going in I was expecting a sales pitch but that wasn't the case. I am an endurance runner who has slacked off lately with my fitness and needed a baseline. The results made sense, some of it was surprising and most of it wasn't. Alex was extremely knowledgeable when it came down to explaining each line item on the scan. He gave me some pointers on my diet and let me know what I need to do to improve. When it came down to offering workout plans, it was very low pressure. I said no and my wife expressed genuine interest; after that Alex just explained the plans and promised to send an email. The results I received from my scan were a nice slap in the face to motivate me to get back on track! I plan on returning to this location now that I have a goal in mind. I'm very happy I did this. read more
