Anyway, now that I was at Caboolture (and regretting not actually going all the way to Nambour - oh well, maybe next time) I decided to go and grab a beer, and fortunately this place was just across the road from the railway station. All in all it was a nice place, with a bit of a country atmosphere about it, but more of a local suburban pub than anything outstanding. However I didn't really mind the place all that much, but won't be travelling all the way to Caboolture to visit it again.

It's a family owned and run business that brings sunshine and happiness to all locals. And by sunshine and happiness I mean an awesome range of starters, tapas, and desserts. There's literally anything to satisfy any palate from crispy chicken, fish, salads, haloumi, pork, beef, and the most fantastic chips with aioli sauce that I just can't resist whenever I go there. Vegetarians and gluten intolerants don't despair, Litse has menu options for you too, with an impressive amount of options being gluten free and healthy. You can also choose a cheese platter from 10am onwards which makes someone like me squeal in delight. Litse also has a range of wines for those enthusiasts, but also a kids menu for the little ones. There is something for everyone and it all has a touch of easy sophistication. You'll pay more for mains here - in excess of $20 and sometimes up to $30 - but for an indulgent meal, it's well worth it. Litse also has an all day breakfast menu with traditional bacon and eggs, omelette, and free range eggs on sourdough, just to name a few options. Sample a dessert and let them recommend a wine to complement it. At Litse, I'm almost certain you'll have the best possible experience. I love it here and I always have.

I was expecting that the place he mentioned, the Liste Lounge was going to be some type of tip rat burger place. Man, never in my mind have I ever been willing to be more wrongly surprised. The place had a Mediterranean lean to it, with its earthy painted tones. The staff who welcomed us appeared to be happy to be there. I was more than ready to eat. I mean if these people were convinced they were working on a Saturday, I was ready to be served. I ordered a flat white, an orange juice and traditional bacon and eggs with a side of mushrooms. Price wise, it was a little expensive but what they brought out was worth it. The bacon was crisp and not oily, eggs cooked to my request perfectly and the mushrooms hinted with garlic and seasoning a winner. The Coffee was made exactly how I wanted it and was a great drink to accompany my meal. I left Liste with a little less money than what I'd hoped to spend but the service and experience proved to be my reward.

On the way back one day I convinced my wife we should go in and give it a try before we hit home. When we arrived to the car park the seats were all taken and there was a line up to the counter. We peeped the prices and they were a little more expensive than we expected but I thought the solid patronage was a good indicator to how the meal would be. We ordered our fish and chip meal with a burger to trial. It cost us close to thirty dollars for what we bought. The surprising thing was that the burger was a third of the over all price. It took about twenty minutes for our order to come out, which wasn't too bad considering the line up and when we got home and opened our feast we were pretty happy with the amount of goods we received. There was nothing too special about the fish and chips, pretty stock standard. Still everything was fresh. The burger was the standout, even after the ten minute drive back it kept its consistency and wasn't all wet as I expected. Fish On Line is worth a chow visit in my books.

The actual space is lovely and has a very mellow, relaxed atmosphere. Only catch is, you can only get in if you're a traveller or student (ID/Passport required) and if you're a girl. Although we have snuck the odd guy in with a bunch of girls with much success. It helps if you know the bouncer. They play music with the likes of Love Shack, Horny, Addicted to Bass and a lot of songs popular all over the world with the kids in the 90s era. They do go back to Dancing Queen and Mr Wendal as well and boy can you boogy to the tunes of this place. Be prepared to have some form of alcohol spilt on your fancy clothes every time you go there. Be prepared for people dancing on tables (even though they've banned it). Be prepared to body squish your way from the dance floor to the toilets and then back to the dancefloor with very willing body squichers - usually from Braz-eeeel (Brazil) and write a note on the wall to your ex-lover in the toilets and pretty much throughout the whole bar, on the walls, on the furniture... everywhere. Now it's home to some trance nights and I hear strong reports that the Step Inn is still a good place to get loose. The space is a little awkward in that the different sections of the pub are organised strangely. The beers are relatively cheap, and if you see a good gig, you won't have that much to complain about. I was amazed at the size of the portions I was served and the care taken to the dish. The chef there must really love what he does. It's not hard to see why. After finishing my dinner and downing a few drinks, I'd noticed that the sun had disappeared and there was a new crowd, a mix of students and backpackers mingling amongst each other and having a great time. I felt the youthful and playful atmosphere The Tin was promoting and was sucked right in. On stage a band struck up, playing mostly covers that got the crowd onto the dance floor and jubilantly dancing. After the band finished a few more drinks and some new friends made a noticed that a DJ had set up on stage. With a mixture of new and classic dance music he whipped the crowd into frenzy, or at least until around midnight, when everyone started to disappear and the doors began to close. It only it could have lasted for a little bit longer. I'm so going back there again.
