However, upon wandering inside I discovered that they actually had a nice tap beer available. That, to be honest, was pretty cool. In fact, it made this place feel much better. Mind you, I do remember coming through here ages ago, so it certainly did seem to be one of those places that I enjoyed visiting again.

We were seated and had a look at the menu and were told that when we were ready we should order at the bar. So we headed to the bar to order our meals and grab a couple of drinks and when we got back to our table another couple had been seated there...not happy. We found another table and awaited our meals but the mix-up put a dampener on my mood. We ordered the Roast Duck and Eye Fillett to share. The roast duck was described as orange and madeira oven roast duck with braised cabbage and creamy potato. It was a very pretty dish but let down terribly by overcooked duck and an undercooked potato stack despite the menu promising creamy potato.. Very disappointing. The medium rare Eye Fillet with mushroom sauce was very well cooked and accompanied by a side of delicious chips. The salad a bit bland and boring but who orders a steak for the salad anyway...

We chose to sit outside facing the water which was nice. I ordered the chili scrambled eggs and added grilled tomato and bacon. I was skeptical at first because I like heat but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the feta & I'm happy I added the bacon & grilled tomato but it would have been fine without as well. My partner ordered the big breakfast and we both had more than enough to eat - he said it was delicious as well. We were surprised it wasn't busy when we showed up, however by the time we left it was picking up quite a bit. We stayed to enjoy our coffees, and we liked it so much we decided to book dinner reservations for this weekend as well.

Very very cold- eating rugged ip in coats and under blankets they provided- like refugee camp. Had to ferry our tables drinks from the bar (why at these prices are there not enough servers?). Most of the Food was good but the menu is VERY limited (ie fish and chip is only battered). Had to order a side of veggies if you hoped for some and the small quarter of a potato was rock hard undercooked, a sliver of pumpkin and few green beans- like austerity rations.

A few minutes later, the band got on stage and the place started filling up! The music was pretty good and everyone was dancing. Great place for groups to grab some drinks and dance without feeling that you need to dress up or anything. I didn't make it to the outdoor area so I would definitely be open to going back to check that out. A good place to stop on a pub crawl or start the night off. It's casual and everyone is welcome!

However there is much more to this pub than initially meets the eye. If you walk through the British style pub it leads you to the biggest beer garden in the Valley which is quite a nice surprise. The beer garden is perfect for nights out and accommodate allot of people which makes it prefect for those group nights out. The great thing about the Elephant and Wheelbarrow is that it has something happening every night of the week. The most noticeable of these are the great food deals. This includes 2 dollar steak nights on Sundays and 1 dollar taco nights on Tuesdays. These are just some of the examples of meals for under 10 dollars every day of the week. Don't be fooled by the cheap price however because the food is definitely up to standard. On Fridays there is also a great deal for groups of 5 people or more, this gives a group a meal platter worth 80 dollars when you book in. The Drink prices are fairly pricey however so this is where people wanting a cheap night out need to watch out as the cheap meal deal can quickly get pricey. There is also a wide range of live music nights such as Monday karaoke, live music on Sunday and a great range of other live local acts through the rest of the week. Personally I enjoy the Elephant Unplugged on Wednesday nights. The Web site is updated regularly and is a great way to find out more about events that are hosted by the Elephant and Wheelbarrow.

We had lunch, I ordered the fish and chip lunch special. It was delicious. The chips were crunchy and the fish and salad were very nice. Staff were lovely and service was quick. I ordered the tiramasu and was very disappointed. It came out and was a deconstructed version, very strange looking. The biscuits were hard and not soaked in coffee, but dipped half in the strongest and most bitter flavour of coffee I have tasted. I don't think it was premade, it looked like a rushed job. The sorbet or ice cream was very icy and the cream component was tasteless. After not being able to eat it, I asked for a takeaway box so I could take my $14 dessert home , hoping family might be able to eat it. The staff member, maybe a manager really couldn't care less when I mentioned it was not very nice. This did spoil lunch a bit, and I would have happily given a higher score, if not for this.

There are heavy curtains hanging and behind one lot of curtains was the pool table. Tables and chairs a plenty so your sure to get a seat. I ordered a Peroni beer and fell over backwards as it arrived in a 500ml glass. They also had a special going that is you order a pizza and two 300 ml Peroni beers you pay $25. This cafe wine beer bar had friendly staff and is an Italian bar. Definitely worth a visit if you want to meet up with friends over a quiet drink.

A joke of a punishment for the crime. On video you can see this sick man speed up in a Audi, intentionally, to hit a child on a bike on the side of the road out of traffic. He proceeds to scream at the child, while the child pleaded for his life. I hope karma does her magic. Even more concerning is how Mr. Wright seemed to justify his actions by blaming the child's bike as "illegal," rather than genuinely acknowledging the danger and illegality his own driving posed. I expect higher ethical standards and community responsibility from anyone at the helm of a hospitality business. While the restaurant itself may serve somewhat average food or drinks, I personally cannot support an establishment whose leadership shows such disregard for safety and empathy--especially when a young child's wellbeing is at stake. Until clear accountability and genuine remorse are demonstrated, I'll be dining elsewhere. If you care about patronizing businesses that reflect your values, I would encourage you to consider taking your money and support elsewhere, too. The experience at these venues sucked before these events occurred too, every other option nearby provide a way better experience. Terrible for family photos. Terrible lighting
