Scrambled eggs with soy sauce. Egg foo young lol

Very bummed out with everything! I was really craving Chop Suey and Egg Foo Young for New Year's because it reminded me of my dad. We used to eat Chinese food together, and I thought it would be a nice way to honor those memories. Unfortunately, this experience was a huge letdown. The Egg Foo Young was more like scrambled eggs and a watery soy sauce and the Chop Suey barely had any vegetables--and the ones that were there were old, soggy, and brown. The brown sauce tasted like nothing more than soy sauce and salt, which wasn't appetizing at all. To make matters worse, I found hard pieces in the food that almost broke my tooth. The spring rolls arrived soggy but were okay after baking them to crisp them up. Overall, the quality didn't match the $80 I spent. It left me wondering if this restaurant is going out of business because the care and quality just weren't there. Next time, I'll stick with China Moon or Asian Kitchen in Laguna Niguel, they've never disappointed me.

    Mongolian beef and tangerine chicken.

Food is consistently tasty and not greasy or sugary. This is primarily a take out place.

Some of my favorites have been every dumpling, egg rolls, the scallops, the filet mignon chow fun, and the pork fried rice. Meat is always tender. The Eggplant tasted like they had emptied an entire salt shaker into it and was inedible. Our server, for lack of a better word, Isabel, was extremely rude and inattentive the entire time. Isabel thought it would be a good idea to focus on the other tables while basically ignoring ours. The worst part was at the end of the meal after I had requested she take the charge off the bill for the horrible food. Isabel begrudgingly agreed to take it off with not as much as any type of apology. It then took her probably 10 minutes to return after gleefully chatting with other tables and walking by us maybe 4-5 times without making eye contact. Once Isabel produced her handheld POS terminal and asked me how I would be paying, I called her out on the lack of courtesy and basic manners. I asked her if she'd be apologizing for the lousy food and she literally said "No, it's not my fault." All the time she had this maniacal grin on her face that was not only out of place but a little on the psychotic side. Isabel kept glaring at me every time she walked by as if to say I don't owe you a thing and there's nothing you can do about it. After speaking with the manager (Shu) I understand how Isabel has this attitude. He was oblivious to the lack of decency and common sense displayed. He just kept repeating the fact that they had removed it from the bill without the least bit of remorse. All this time I was speaking with Shu, Isabel kept walking around with this crazed grin on her face to hear what we were discussing. I've honestly never experienced any server like her in my entire life. The best Shu could do was to tell me the next time I came in they'd seat me with another server. The next time? This speaks to the oblivious nature of the employees at China Moon. He actually thought that after that, I would be returning. Isabel was the weirdest server I've literally ever had in my life and it was clear at the end that Shu didn't have a clue about customer service or the dining experience. I would avoid this place at all costs unless you enjoy being treated like garbage by people that don't have any clue what service is.

We ordered the GF Orange chicken, GF Shrimp Curry and it came with white steamed rice. **We did call ahead to ask what they used to make their fried items gluten-free and they confirmed that it was cornstarch based. The shrimp are well cooked in the onion and other veg in the curry were a great burst of color and flavor! The service was interesting, it had some comical moments (1) it seemed like the original individual who was attending to us maybe he was New as we had to repeat ourselves many times to him and then (2) the waitress who then served us definitely worked with "urgency" - it came off a bit pushy throughout the meal. They were very social to the table behind me, but was short and quick to us. Not sure what that was about. The food was alright too. It tasted like a step up from Panda, but not authentic Chinese food at all. The service was mediocre too. I tried to flag someone down for chopsticks ,and finally after waiting, I went up and got my own. The food did not seem that fresh either. Overall , this is about on -par with the chinese place in Marina Hills, Laguna Niguel, not the best, and most likely will wait years to come back if I do at all.

Interior: With a handful of tables/chairs and bar seating, it's considered small and casual. Based on the food and atmosphere, this place seems geared towards having people order to-go and delivery as you can eat their dishes family style. Food: My total take-out order came out to approximately $58 (without tip). I ordered enough for 3-4 people. It came with an extra side of rice. I would recommend getting a fried rice dish over a noodle (specifically the chow mein) dish due to taste or repetitive oily fats and heavy meat. Order variety of dishes for a better experience based on texture and savory. Ordered: Pork Chow Mein, Vegetable Fried Rice (could be better with smaller chunks of zucchini), Wonton Soup (small, tasted water down, wonton chips come separately but there's no big change in taste, the vegetable chunks doesn't blend together), and Orange Chicken (similar to other chicken with sweet and sour sauce). Overall, an average restaurant that gives you a good fix of Chinese food in the local area. The service is fast and the workers themselves are cordial and respectful. I wouldn't feel compelled to eat inside or take friends on a daily basis. Service: I was overall impressed with the fast service (my order took less than 15min to prepare for 4 dishes)
