**ALL YOU CAN EAT** This is quantity over quality. Wish we had known it was an all you can eat before we went there - in the reviews all we saw was hibachi. It was upstairs, hot, Saturday evening, we did not have reservations and we were hungry. After we were seated, the waiter immediately explained that it was an all you can eat with a maximum 2 hours and fee for unfinished food. Food is ordered via your cell phone - scan a QR code to arrive at the ordering system. Everything is in 0.5-1 person portions so if ordering edamame for 4 people order 2-4 portions. The sushi rolls come with a lot of mayo sauce covering it which we scraped off. The hibachi shrimp comes with the shell on - good for taste but horrible to peel and eat. Aside from the limited sushi (no tuna, no yellowtail, no whitefish - pretty much just salmon and shrimp, crab stick, omelet, tofu), a bunch of rolls including some monstrosity called sushi pizza, and limited hibachi items, the deep fried foods were abundant: mushroom tempura, fried onion rings, imperial rolls (aka egg rolls), broccoli tempura, sweet potato tempura, fried calamari, fried scallops, frites, fried dumplings - and yes, I can feel my arteries clogging as we speak. Almost all the desserts were sold out. To give Kalbi credit, it had moments like a cute little robot server (although we had a few dishes go missing) and the wait staff were very attentive. Overall the quality was pretty poor and meant for folks who just want to fill up on anything.* After undereating, I kept staring at the online menu hoping something tasty would appear - when that didn't happen I decided that I would try to eat my weight in pineapple slices but the tanginess of pineapple made my tastebuds literally quit on me about 6 servings in (or about 1/2 a pineapple). And they did keep bringing me dishes of pineapple with no judgement. You won't get sick but you will definitely have indigestion. The only way we would return is if we were entertaining heavyweight eaters that literally didn't care what they were stuffing themselves with. * UPDATE: It is deceptive to say it's Korean BBQ - it's not - it has a few Korean BBQ items, some Japanese rolls and then a huge list of deep fried food. It should be named Asian All You Can Eat Deep Fried Food.

My friends came on a slow looking Thursday afternoon for dinner. We had reservations and were seated as we arrived just on time by the friendly hostess. Items can be added to the online check out by each person but should be submitted by a single person instead. We placed 4 orders of 15+ items per ranging from beef short rib, BBQ pork belly, lamb, to chicken for meats only. Heads up, mussels tasted like they were salted and were not to my likings. But grilling pineapple with the meats is a must and highly recommended! Sides offered included seaweed salad, edamame, kimchi, spicy cucumber and rice. Desserts were Sweet bun, sesame balls w/ red bean, and mango jelly. Favorite items were the beef short rib, pork belly, and lamb. Kimchi was fresh and not too fermented perfect for some rice, meat and a lettuce wrap. Overall, we had a perfect experience. Staff were so nice as well as their automated friend which help efficiency of serving food to the tables. Cuts of meat were incredibly thin making it easy to cook and order more! We had a lot of fun taking sake bombs there and suggest others to do the same. Would love love to come again!!

This is my go to and all time favourite all you can eat in Montreal! Customer service is always good. As for the price it is a little pricey but totally worth the money and experience. Highly recommend everyone to try it out at least once. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The food is great quality and the flavours are amazing. There's a big variety of protein options available --anything from poultry, read meat, and seafood. The variety of sushi available here is crazy! There's so many type of sushi to select. My favourites were the dragon eyes & Philadelphia rolls. There's also a robot that brings the some of the little snacks & drinks.

Really good Korean bbq place. Spacious and they have robot servers. Went for lunch with friends and although the menu is smaller for lunch, we still ate well! You order on your phone and service is quick and efficient. The food is fresh and the meat tasted great. I recommend!

If you do not have reservations do. It come here because the wait is super long We went on a Sunday afternoon We were stupid enough to wait more then an hour on an empty stomach and the food wasn't all that. It would have been different if the food was worth it. But it wasn't. There's so many other Korean BBQ places in MTL that are way better then here. The Korean BBQ wasn't anything special, the meats had alot of fat on them which was disappointing. The sushi was okay, not to the greatest again. The food arrived on a machine everytime we would order. Will I go back, I don't think no. Also if you go just to let you know that you will be smelling food when you leave. So if you have a something planned after it's a nono

Their SIDE DISHES are a bomb! We waited for 2 hrs since our friend is a kbbq fan, it was worth it! We went during the weekend and booking is a must. We just became lucky one table did not show up. Ambience is awesome. You get to enjoy the meal with good music on the background. There were robot servers. Service is quick. You order through your phone via qr they provide and in a few minutes food is going to be served. They accept major credit cards. They are on a buffet on the weekend and one bill only for everyone so you get to split outside. Bathroom is filthy, needs constant maintenance due to the influx of people.

The service was great. Very attentive. The food was good and easy to order on smartphone. The restaurant is nice and not too noisy. It's casual . Great experience

This place didn't look like much from outside but it was awesome and actually a lot of fun. Nice atmosphere with waiters and robots attending to you. We ordered everything on our phones (buffet style) and the robot or waiter would bring it to the table. There is a grill at each table, as well, for the food that you need to cook. We had a great dinner here and definitely one of the highlights of our week in Montreal. Everything was delicious.

An AYCE korean bbq and sushi place located in Chinatown. I came with a group of 10 people to cepebrate my birthday - we've been coming back for a few years now. Sadly, the quality (which wasn't great to begin with) is slipping, and I don't think we'll be back. Service was friendly, but ultimately I go to a restaurant for the food...and even for AYCE, the quality is noticeably low. First off, I'm really not a fan of the grill style. It's "paper grilling" and you line the grill with parchment, which supposedly soaks up the grease and is thus healthier...but seriously, if I'm going for AYCE bbq, I'm really not looking to be healthy. Gimme that fat and char! With the paper, you don't get any of that lovely charring of the meat, and eventually the paper starts burning and crumbling if you don't change it fast enough, which is annoying. The meats are very low quality, much poorer than other similar places like sota bbq. They're cut extremely thin, which decreases the grill time, but they end up very flimsy and without any real texture to them. The marinade is also not very good. There is a ton of fat and gristle on the ribs, and it's basically mostly bone...the ribs at sota are miles better! Same with the porkbelly. The meat is probably stored frozen then defrosted, since some plates we had the meat still stuck together. The mussels and other seafood were okay, and seemed to have some garlic marinade, but be warned that the shrimp come with shells, not deveined and not split, so you'll have to be willing to get your hands dirty for that. I would avoid the sushi altogether. Really disappointing, even for AYCE. The rolls are huge and thick with rice, with a minute amount of filling, and honestly they just did not taste very good. The spicy salmon rolls were particularly disappointing, as they were minced so finely and there were so many tempura crumbs that they barely resembled salmon. If you hadn't told me what filling they were, i would probably have no idea. The kimchi was okay, as was the seaweed salad. The bibimbap was boring honestly, and the beef had an odd texture to it. The buns were terrible. They had one tiny thin slice of meat, and the remainder was just a giant slab of steamed dough, so basically just a mantou. Not worth the stomach space at all. The takoyaki were fine but covered with spicy mayo which seems to be their default topping for anything (it was on the fried scallops and the fried squid as well). The chicken wings were decent though! They were huge, and actually crisp and juicy. The spring rolls were meh, and the shrimp chips equally meh. The katsu was rather dry. At the end of the day, I'd much rather go elsewhere. The food quality is poor, and they don't have ice cream or drinks included. After taxes and tip, the weekend price is nearly forty dollars. For a similar or cheaper price, you could check out many other AYCE bbq options with better food. The one perk with this place is that they offer a birthday special, so I did get to eat for free. You basically need to bring a party of 8 or more, and show them ID. but honestly I don't think I'd do it again, even if it was free...and I wouldn't subject my friend circle to that again either.

Slightly disappointed by my visit to Kalbi. We went on a Tuesday night so the place was somewhat empty. The waiter was extremely helpful and came often to check on us. He was kind enough to ask the chef for a custom sushi roll that my brother wanted. However, the food selection was fairly limited in comparison to other Korean BBQ restaurant, such as Seoul Chako and Hibi. I was also disappointed by the lack of seasoning and the attention paid to our order. Most of the meat cuts were not seasoned and the calamari was bland. The tempura shrimp and vegetables were not crispy at all. I ordered edamame which arrived cold, almost as if they were straight out of the freezer.. although they are not meant to be cooked on the grill but rather eaten as a snack. They use a cooking method which involves putting a parchment paper on the grill which prevent food from sticking but makes everything soggy and lacking those grill marks most of us like. We ordered beer which was great since we were told there was a 3 for 2 special on Sapporo beer cans. Dessert was great, selection between ice cream, sweet buns and fried banana. It's an okay place to eat but not the best in Montreal.

During the Covid, I regularly order from Kalbi and their sushi and sashimis are always fresh and delicious. I mostly order their Dragon or Love combo with a variety of sushi and sashimis. The service is fast and the staff is very friendly (I'm very happy that they can prepare 40+ sushi pieces in less than a year for my takeout order).

Imagine being hungry college students wandering around Montreal with nothing better to do than to find some place to eat. You just put yourself into my and my friends' shoes. Having been trapped in Vermont for a good four months with limited access to non-American cuisine, how appropriate is it that my travel party and I had to escape up into Canada for a little less than a week to enjoy the food offerings of a city again? Very. Korean barbecue is one of my guilty pleasures. Sushi is also one. All-you-can-eat is yet another one. Combine all of these? You get this Korean fusion restaurant in Chinatown that I of course had to try during my tour of Montreal. They use paper here to grill which is a completely different experience for me. I had never seen it before in America and I still have yet to see it again. I'm not sure how it affected our meat but I wasn't complaining. Meat quality seemed decent, what's raw is raw and what's cooked is cooked. That's all I could really tell. The sushi we ordered was good but also a lot; we ended up ordering a little bit too much due to our eyes being bigger than our stomachs. We still managed to eat everything, but this is always a lesson to be learned. They have sushi pizza which I know in America as "crispy rice," usually with tuna. The sushi pizza was a pleasant revisit of those times my math teacher and I would nosh on sushi and crispy rice when we felt like we deserved a food break. We got complimentary ice cream (up to three scoops of any flavors) at the end, a nice light ending to our heavy meal. I'd say this place gave me the bang for my buck. Would revisit!

May be getting carry out instead? We were able to get seated at a two top picnic table before 7pm, only about a 5-10 minute wait. Ordered two sides of kimchi, Kim gui, tteokbokki, regular spicy chickie, Buldak chicken. C$74.23 The kimchi side comes with a side of shredded radish, which is quite sweet. Was hoping it would be the cubed radish kimchi instead. The shredded radish clumps together, it's ok. The kimchi is also so-so. The seaweed is good. The tteokbokki is a small portion, the gochujang sauce tastes smokey, it's pretty good. Comes with mushrooms. The spicy chickie is good, the breading is light and crispy. The chickie is nicely fried, not too dry. I should have read more carefully, the Buldak is smothered in cheese, had to removed it all off the top of the meat. The meat is oddly cut, it's nicely cooked and tender. It's a big portion of meat. There is no complimentary rice with the BBQ Buldak chicken, that's a first. No banchans here as complimentary here either, not very Korean of this place at all. :/

TL;DR/The Short Version: Casual Korean eatery. Great combos…read morewith lots of variety. Everything was tasty. The Long Version: My husband and I went here for lunch. I got the fried chicken combo ($16.99) and my husband got the beef combo ($16.99). We requested no sesame seeds for our food and they accommodated by not sprinkling sesame seeds on the rice, japchae or beef, but they forgot that one of the fried chicken sauces has sesame seeds in it, so I had to give my husband that piece. We were going to share anyway, so it wasn't a big deal for me. The Fried Chicken Combo came with 3 pieces of fried chicken, each one a different flavour: original, sweet and spicy, and soy garlic. The sweet and spicy sauce has sesame seeds in it. Since I can't eat sesame seeds but can tolerate slight contamination, I didn't bring it up and just gave that piece to my husband. Although in retrospect I should have alerted them for them to be more aware for someone else who might have a more severe issue. Both combos came with japchae, rice, 2 dumplings, and coleslaw. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It was great. I liked both the original and the soy garlic. Hubby liked the sweet and spicy. The beef was tender and flavourful. And I liked that it was lean meat and not gristly. The dumplings were deep-fried and had pork and vegetables in it. The rice was nicely steamed and slightly sticky which I liked. The japchae was flavourful and had shiitake mushrooms, carrots, bell peppers and onions in it. It was little too oily for my preference, but I still enjoyed it. The combos also came with a can of soda or a bottle of water. My husband got a Coca Cola and I got a bottle of water, which I took to go to drink during my shopping adventures after lunch, since we were given tap water with our meal. Service was courteous and efficient. Lots of indoor seating with televisions playing K-pop music videos in the dining room. The restaurant is down a flight of stairs, so might be a problem for those with mobility issues. Review #18 (2025)
