The restaurant is situated near the 15 freeway, it's hard to overlook and is an ideal spot to visit while passing through Corona to enjoy genuine Mexican cuisine at Kalaveras. The location is pleasant, tidy, and has welcoming employees. Everyone, including the waitress, was extremely kind. The food tastes great, is well presented, has good flavor, and comes in a good portion. My only recommendation is to lower the music volume in the restaurant area. It can be difficult to talk over loud music, so turn it up in the bar area instead. Keep it quieter on the restaurant side. The drinks also took 45 minutes to arrive at our table, even though it wasn't crowded on a Monday at 6pm. I didn't understand why they took so long, and it made me unhappy. All other aspects were satisfactory, once more excellent service, pleasant employees, and an exceptionally tidy establishment where everyone ensures customer satisfaction. My hubby and I went to the location in Redondo Beach and tried their food, and we wanted more of their quesbirria tacos (thanks to my bro who recommended this place for these), so, when I found out there's one in Corona, I was stoked! This place has got such a cool vibe! I like the dim lit atmosphere and decor with fun music playing. Our servers were attentive, friendly, and quick to serve. Management came by to check on us too. I can tell this place has their operations well-planned, organized, and streamlined. We got our drinks and food in no time, even though the place was packed! The food and drinks were delicious. We came here mainly for their cheesy and meat-packed birria tacos. Their carnitas taco was so delicious too--we love the distinct smoky flavor it has. The drinks were yummy as well. Not watered down at all. They make sure you get your money's worth. We will definitely be back! Good for friends nights out. There's dinner and dancing with live music on Saturdays. However request for a table away from the band. They sat us directly next to the band and I still can't hear properly in my left ear. It's been about a week. Time to pay the bill and see how they do their tip math: They did have it correct by applying the tip percentage to the subtotal, however, according to my iphone calculator $34 x 18% = $6.12; 20% = $6.80; 25% = $8.50, but Kalaveras has somehow added an extra 5 or 7 cents extra. The resturant in long beach is night and day from the one in Corona. I prefer the long beach location, it's a lot quieter to carry a conversation, the service is way much better and the music isn't on full blast. The Corona location the music is so loud there is no way to carry a conversation . The service for food is slow, and took for ever to pay my bill. This location draws a lot of the younger crowd and it's more of a party bar atmosphere. read more

We came here on 1/31/26. The food was great. However, they had a "gratitude fee" or something along those lines for a party of 6 or more. Since the servers knew they were gonna automatically get a "tip" added in our bill, it resulted in a terrible customer service. They brought our food but with nothing to eat it with. My brother had to go up to them and remind them on how to do their job by brining in all of the napkins, knives, spoons, and forks. we won't be coming here again. Upside - Walked in and hostess seated us right away dispute being packed inside I immediately was seated Downside- I was seated right in the front near the hostess it was just a strange spot next to the walkway. Menu looked large but not that many dishes to choose from. I ordered the carnitas plate $26. It was pretty tasty it was a layer of black beans, rice and carnitas. Also ordered the 3 enchiladas. They were ok. When I pulled up the parking lot was full .. this is usual at all of their locations that I've been to.. They do have 2 handicap parking spots up front if you need them . When I walked in the hostess that greeted me was great so sweet . I chose to sit at the bar and the bartender was busy the entire time and really did his best to keep up. Of course I ordered their Barbacoa but I also took a photo of my neighbor's dish which looked great . I don't think the photos do the food justice because of the sun lighting on the bar side. Ordered a to go order for my mother .. shrimp enchiladas w verde sauce as a sub which is a mild sauce since she can't handle any heat in her food. Overall great Sunday afternoon linner. I don't exactly know what happen within the last 6 months of being here, but I decided to try their brunch on 2/23/25 and my niece and I were very disappointed with the food the meat was cold their enchiladas were dry and hard. Menudo was just bones and hominy. I don't know if we got sick from the shrimp (aquachiles) or just a mixture of everything. I did mention the Chile Verde was cold and gummy they were nice about it and said the flames were to low. I don't think I will try the brunch again due to us being sick of our stomachs.
