a duckhorn vineyard
Marian A.

My son sent me a bottle Duckhorn Vineyards cabernet sauvigon for my birthday. It was a great surprise when it was delivered. Plus, the chocolate bars were a nice added touch. This wine paired really well with the crispy chicken confit that I had for dinner.

Anyone who writes this off as a bar is missing out. My favorites have to be the adobo tacos, chop salad, and crispy Brussel sprouts. But we've tried almost everything on the menu and you can't go wrong. AND they love to mix it up with new specials all the time! It keeps us coming back. The staff are always friendly, it's always clean and the service is great. Sit inside in the AC or out on the patio in good weather, and even bring your pupper like I do! My dog always drags me here to try and beg treats from the staff and they always spoil him. Central to tons of shopping, easy parking, kids park and dog park right across the street, easy walking from Ala Moana beach park too. I honestly can't say enough. Looking forward to my next stop, maybe Halloween bar crawl??

Had sliced avocado and seeds, but mostly greens. The Grilled Cheese was mostly pork adobo and very little cheese. The adobo was on the salty side and didn't have the tangy adobo flavor, sadly. The bread was nicely buttered and crispy, though. Giant steak fries came with it and they were tasty. We both wanted to like this place but it seemed like only one guy was working the floor and the check-in/payment (don't like having to pay a tip in advance if service hasn't been provided yet) and serving the food. It looked like only one person was in the kitchen, too. It wasn't busy so we didn't have to wait long to be served. A plus.

It felt a little cramped, and you could hear the neighboring parties conversations quite clearly. After a while though, getting into our own conversation, it didn't bother me. Our hostess, I wish o remembered her name, was fantastic! Petite young lady with blonde hair and she wore glasses. She checked in with us as soon as the last member of our party arrived, and gave us the appropriate amount of time to look through the menu. She even came by to let us know she was going on a break and pointed out who was going to temporarily take care of us. I ordered their version of a high-ball and it was delicious! My friend had an oat milk latte that he drank in no time! My other friend had another coffee drink that she also enjoyed. Their coffee drinks are really delicious. For pupus we ordered their fries topped with poke and their original açaí bowl. The poke was fresh, and the fires cooked perfectly! It was sooo good! Island Vintage is also known for their açaí bowls, and they did not disappoint. So refreshing, and not too sweet. Ours came in a huge cappuccino cup and we split it amongst 3 people. We all had a tiny cup. Overall, a great experience!!! Friendly staff, and delicious foods and drink. Love this place! Oh, and right next door they have their coffee bar! Just as fantastic!

All of our coffees and the lilikoi acai bowl were 10/10! For food we had a variety of things - wagyu burger, turkey pesto sandwich, salmon lox plate, and the eggs benedict. Eggs benedict was mine, and normally I love eggs benny, but this version came on a brioche bread instead of english muffin and it wasn't my favorite. Service was great though and it was much easier to be seated there than wait in line for the quick-service location right next door.

Was just walking around and happened to walk inside of Duke's Lane. And there I see it... A sign that says Prime Rib. Well.. That sounds bomb! Looks like I have my restaurant and what I'm going to eat. So once dinner time hit, I head over to Basalt! The Prime Rib was delicious. Perfectly cooked and tender. It comes with mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, and creamy horseradish and au jus sauce. Ah everything was delicious! I finished it all! Washed it down with a Basalt Mai Tai! For dessert - I got the Mochi Brownie. Mmm.. Mmm.. So good! Also got hooked up with a scoop of vanilla gelato! (Make this a thing! Lol). I was stuffed and had to get some steps in before heading back to the hotel. Lol. Service - Really good and friendly. I sat at the bar and Mykah (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was awesome and gave some good recommendations. Price $45 for the prime rib. Can't beat that! Will I be back? Oh heck yes! Our evening experiences have consistently been wonderful, thanks to the welcoming and attentive staff. Anson, in particular, stood out for his exceptional hospitality and genuinely made our experience memorable. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about our breakfast experiences. During both visits, an employee named Shade was consistently cold, dismissive, and unwelcoming toward my family and me. This was not an isolated interaction but rather a repeated pattern of behavior across multiple mornings and two separate hotel stays. On one particular morning, there were no available tables for our family, so I politely asked Shade if a few tables could be cleared to accommodate us. Her response and demeanor made it seem as though my request was an unreasonable inconvenience rather than a simple request for assistance. On another morning, we observed her warmly greeting and saying goodbye to other guests while completely ignoring our family. As we were leaving breakfast, Shade was standing directly beside me when she said goodbye. Naturally, I assumed she was addressing us and responded. However, it became apparent that she was speaking to another family near the exit. Despite standing immediately next to us, she did not acknowledge my response or extend the same courtesy to my family. What makes these experiences particularly disappointing is the noticeable difference in how she interacted with other guests. We repeatedly observed her being friendly, welcoming, and attentive to other families while treating ours with apparent indifference. While a single interaction could easily be attributed to a misunderstanding or someone simply having a difficult day, experiencing the same behavior across multiple encounters and two separate visits makes it difficult to dismiss as coincidental. I brought these concerns to hotel management, but given that this behavior has persisted across visits months apart, I have little confidence that it will be meaningfully addressed. Hospitality should be about making every guest feel equally welcome, respected, and valued. Employees like Anson demonstrate exactly what that should look like and deserve recognition for their exceptional service. Unfortunately, our repeated experiences with Shade stand in stark contrast to that standard. It is disappointing that an otherwise wonderful experience at the Longboard Club could be overshadowed by one employee's consistently unwelcoming behavior. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that every guest receives the same level of courtesy and respect, regardless of who they are.

For our first time we decided to just walk-in and they had a 20-minute wait, which was not too bad compared to other dinner spots. However, I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time through Open Table. For dinner we decided to go with the mushroom cheese risotto, truffle alfredo fettuccine and arugula salad. For my little one we went with their margherita pizza. Everything was outstanding! Probably the best risotto I've ever had! It was packed with flavor and so good and comforting. The truffle alfredo was perfection, and the taste of the truffle was on point. My little picky eater almost finished the whole pizza, which I guess was a good sign. We loved it so much we decided to come back the following week. For the second time I didn't notice I had made reservations during their happy hour. Please note they have a happy hour food menu with heavily discounted food items which I thought was amazing. During this time we also tried the curry meatball and the prosciutto pizza.
