This is a great place to go to when craving ramen and you don't want to cross the bridge. Toll is…read moreexpensive these days and thankfully Staten Island has finally started to open amazing ramen places as such. This is definitely not the best ramen I've ever had but it definitely satisfies the cravings I have. The broth is alright, nothing too special to mention or praise. The char sui was way too lean, no fatty parts to it and dry. Noodles were cooked perfectly, what we were more amazed by was the quality of appetizers. Kani salad, huge portions and great fresh quality. Meat lover skewers; the meat was a bit small wish they gave bigger pieces but the sauce was also pretty good.

Hitto Ramen is a small, unassuming spot not far from where I live, and one weekend we decided to…read moredrop in for a quick bite. From the start, the service stood out--Tiffany was warm, personable, and super helpful, which made the experience even better. We originally came for the ramen, but the appetizers were too tempting to pass up. The shrimp mango salad was fresh and flavorful, a great way to kick things off. The karaage chicken was hands-down amazing--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside--and the gyoza hit the mark, too. Prices were more than fair for the quality, and now I've got even more reason to go back and finally try the ramen. With food and service this good, it's great knowing a place like this is so close by.

Though the staff weren't too attentive and didn't give us water when we were seated, I absolutely enjoyed most of their food. We got takoyaki and tteokbokki for appetizer. The takoyaki was okay- it was a bit cold on the inside. The tteokbokki was perfectly spiced and it comes with an egg. The rice cake is very soft! I got the soft tofu soup which tasted really homey! My boyfriend got the chicken cutlet with curry over rice- which tasted pretty average. The restaurant has a very warm and homey feel too! They do get busy towards the night! I will definitely be coming back to try their other food options!

Every dish is perfectly crafted with precision and delicious every time I visit here. It's my home away from the fatherland home which is South Korea. My mother agrees . You can't beat that. SERVICE: The enduring owners have built a legacy here that will be remembered for generations. They were recently highlighted as a BEST local hidden gem restaurant in the Staten Island Advance, the premier newspaper in Staten Island. Speaks volumes enough that they still do the heavy lifting and serving the dishes to the tables in their golden years. My heart fills with pride to be a Korean born in the USA and my eyes begin to well up as I think about the countless sacrifices they have made to make it here to be as successful and legendary as they are and will always be. That I'll never fully understand in many lifetimes over. AMBIANCE: This immaculately designed restaurant has just the perfect lighting and generous space for intimate dining and conversation. It feels like I'm dining at a five-star rated restaurant, but even better. I don't lie if I said I would give this oasis a seven-star rating. That's how good I feel about this place. P.S. It feels like they were rushing to open the restaurant after stalling construction for all those years and between that time, they still didn't get enough staff and have recent menus. At the front had different pricing and different pricing for children (one is by age, the other is by height). This was a soft opening, we had a 10% discount, the wait staff was half good and others were just confused with tables. So they hired a bunch of staff but the training wasn't well there. Ours was courteous and attentive though. They still had a bunch of clutter at the front, but it's also confusing since they sell bubble tea with the tsaocaa bubble tea franchise. They said we can order bubble tea when we sat down, but the only menu was available at the front, lol. The food was fresh but they still have missing food items like some soup selections, some dinner items menu even though all weekend was considered dinner. The rice rolls in particular were fresh and not crazy hard. Also, I noticed, if you speak Mandarin to the staff, they give you better service which is kinda unfair for everyone else. I like the other hot pot AYCE on the island much much more. I can see the majority of this business busy with bubble tea more than the restaurant itself. Edit: also the booths were not bolted down so there was allot of shifting between tables and that got really annoying.
