So I'm pretty new to hot yoga and it has dang near changed my life. I am in better shape now than…read moreI have ever been and I attribute it to yoga in general but I'll give a shout out to hot yoga. I've been to class at Hot Spot Yoga Studio 13 times now and have had each of the instructors at least once. They are all awesome, and different enough to keep it interesting. The studio is clean and simple, the instructors all lead class in a way that is welcoming to newcomers and challenging to experienced yogis. And, the HEAT! It's funny, I hate it but I love it. If I haven't been to class in a few days, I start jonesing for it. You WILL sweat your balls off. But the shower afterwards will be amazing and you'll feel euphoric for the rest of the day.

Both my wife and I took hot yoga classes at Hot Spot for about 6 months, and always had a good…read moreexperience. We have since moved out of the area, but have not been able to find a studio with the same quality and feel of Hot Spot. Our favorite thing about the studio is definitely the infrared heat. It gets you nice and warm during the class without getting stuffy or stinky in the room. Simply laying and soaking up the heat from the lamps feels amazing! If you start to feel too hot, stopping to catch your breath cools you off a lot faster than it would in a humid studio. The studio has a number of instructors that teach at all different times of the week. As with any yoga studio, it's always best to try a few classes to see whose style fits you best. We really loved the power Vinyasa classes with Jenny, Rosemary, and Beth. They were all easygoing and very responsive to feedback. Every instructor at Hot Spot emphasizes going at your own pace and treating your body well to make sure you can keep coming back. Don't let that fool you into thinking that the classes are easy - most of they time they kicked our butts! The prices are very fair for a Yoga studio - first class free and then $20 for unlimited for the introductory two weeks. After that, it's less than $70/month for the unlimited yoga. There are also frequently Groupons available for the studio, and other deals going on that you can ask about at the desk. I wanted to post a review for this studio because doing yoga at hot spot had such a positive effect on our lives and our health. Whether you are an experienced yogi or someone looking to try it out, Hot Spot is a fantastic choice.

I absolutely LOVE this place!…read more As of right now there are five instructors, and management always seems to be adding more classes. There are spin classes during the week, and yoga and a YAS (yoga and spin) class on Saturday and Sunday. I love that there is variety between all the different instructors as well as so many options to choose classes throughout the day (I recently noticed that there is now a 9am class on Wednesday! I'll be heading straight there after dropping off the grandkids at school). The teachers are all very knowledgeable when it comes to the why and how of spin and riding, they know how to put together some GREAT playlists, and the atmosphere they create with their upbeat energy is always contagious. You'd have to really try to NOT have a good time here. The lights and dark room make you feel like you're in a club rather than a gym/studio. With summer right around the corner I was a little worried about burning up in this place, but with all the new upgrades the owner has put into the studio I think we'll be juuuuuuuust fine!--they have 4 high powered fans that they turn on via remote and bring down the temp in the room significantly. The cleanliness of the studio is top notch and a top priority here. In between every class the teachers wipe off every single bike that was used and put down a clean towel for the next person coming in. Everything here runs like clockwork. I clearly love this place and can't get enough of it. I love all that they've done with the studio and look forward to see what else they have in store for the future! -Life Cycle Member For Life

It's been a while since exercise was a part of my daily routine, so I had some trepidation as a newbie. Most of all, I didn't want another injury. The attention I get from the coaches is not only a confidence booster, but gives me peace of mind that I'm doing it correctly to minimize chance of hurting myself. My wife and I are still kind of new to Carson City, and this has been a great way to meet new friends and become part of the community. It's a really diverse set of people, all ages and backgrounds. There's a running group, biking group, and open gym on Saturdays at 9am is a great combination of morning workout and "donut social," (everyone needs a cheat day!) It's not your typical, "gym-in-a-box." Unlike a lot of others, Axle is not a couple of racks in a shell of an uninsulated building. Everything is new, and the turf center floor is awesome. Floor-to-ceiling windows with beautiful views of the mountains make sunrise yoga sublime. In addition to CrossFit, they also have the aforementioned yoga; women's only Victory classes; "Oly" (Olympic Style Lifting) with Amber (who is a riot!), and the ultimate in functional strength, "Strongman," which is for anyone who wants to move heavy things quickly and safely. It's a lot more than just a gym, you should try it out.
