For lunch, the food and service were great. Outdoor dining venue at the back and cross street from Maritime Museum was fantastic

I've been warned everywhere that this club is quite the maze. I've heard that you see unwanted…read more.. erm... body parts. I've heard there's glass on the floor everywhere you step; almost like those movies. So my fellow yelpies, I boldly walked into the legend of the Dome... with a group of friends. The Dome is a maze. FACT: when I first entered, I won't lie, I was saying: PFFFFFT, confusing? ya right! But you know... the more you walk around.... hey! let's grab a drink.... more walking.... cheers? let's get a beer.... let's see what's over there.... SHOTS!...... you've GOT to see this....WHERE THE HECK ARE WE?! It's great that if you purchase your cover charge you get access to all three places, but maybe they should make it less confusing. Certain Human Parts Are Exposed MYTH: I didn't see any! Glass everywhere. FACT: I thought out of EVERYTHING, this was gonna be the biggest lie ever. No sir Bob. It's not uncommon to have people drop bottles and not have any of the staff clean the up. Wear protective shoes yelpies!! But I soon realized... that the DJ literally has 10 songs on his playlist. That's it. And they are on constant repeat. So you hear the same song at least 10 times during your stay here. My friends and I found a secluded bar section where no one was buying drinks. The woman said that our total for 3 drinks was 10.50 which is a great deal! So we forked over a 20 and she gave us back 15 in change. Great for us... not so great for the owners!

Staff member, Elisa Dalpe insulted my little brother who passed by saying "I'm glad your brother…read moredied, you deserve it" because I didn't want a relationship with her. Absolutely outlandish and unacceptable. I will not be re-visiting the dome as long as she is under staff.

Charlie's is a pretty chill place to go hang out and have a few beers…read more The crowd can be a little rough around the edges but I guess the university throngs have pretty much pushed the average drinking man out of every other bar in Halifax. Pool tables are a nice addition... I wasn't really sure what the $2 cover was going towards besides upkeep? A grungy/funky spot in the North End that's for sure!

This is not a tourist bar, unless you are a linoleum architecture tourist, or a $2.75 tequila shot…read moretourist, or a tourist of watching tight knit groups of locals sit around in circular formation. Charlie's is where you go when you want to go to Cheers. (Not the Cheers on Grafton St., the Cheers on TV according to your 6 y/o mind, which is really just the the theme song, fuzzy visuals, and conflating real life people with Cliff and/or Rhea Pearlman.) In short, it's where you go when you come home nostalgic and want to see all your old friends, enthusiastically buy each other drinks like it's a genuine gift, dance to one of those weird new electric blue jukeboxes, shout and pontificate around a pool table, and generally have a back slappin, squeezey hugging, chortling little time. The decor is like any affordable house, only the door has a key code and a woman sits at a table with a guest book when you come in. This does not make you feel cool, but it does make you feel like life is funny. The bartender is so used to over-friendly drunk patrons that nothing can melt him. I imagine that deep in his core is something more kind than anything I have ever known, but it is too precious to be shared. The last time I came here, someone apologized for asking me to dance when I turned him down. Apologized. For my rejecting him. A dark little mineshaft to the salt of the earth this place is, lemme tell ya.

She was skeptical because she never knew of anyone who actually ate there before. We've both been to shows, but had nothing more than beer! First glace at the menu and I was shocked. It does have your average pub style food... but the prices were so, so cheap!! and they were listed to INCLUDE tax! A hamburger and fries for like $5.50?! Fish and chips for $6.25?! Insane!! Insanely good! I got the fish and chips (I'm turning into my father, ordering it wherever I go, uhooo!). The pieces were large and the batter was perfect; you could tell the fish was fresh. The chips were home made and delicious. We were the only people in there besides the few gamblers in the games room and the staff. So, obviously our server was super attentive and speedy; he filled our water glasses for us about 4 times! It was awesome. I feel like Gus' pub is like the hidden gem of greasy pub style food. I will definitely return!

An awesome place to go and hear some lesser known bands hailing from a pretty diverse set of genres. Cheap drinks as well especially on Monday as I recall. Clams were extra special yummy!
