Pua shared the story behind Miffy with us, and later shared some Hawaiian cultural history with us. She was very proud of her Hawaiian culture and rightfully so. The store was bright and inviting. I initially left without Miffy, but had to come back and pick up an adorable Miffy keyring to remind me of the kind interaction we had with Ms. Pe'a. Icy Bubble had a lot of people going in and so we spontaneously went next door and put our pizza on one of their small tables. It was game over. My mini was throwing a tantrum and wanted to eat asap, so we quickly ate our food there. Then we walked around a bit and I kept seeing all the treats everyone was going in for and walking out with. By far, U'i Gallery is my favorite gift store/gallery on the island! I never leave the store without purchasing some beautiful clothing and artwork. So much food I have bought over the past 5 months has been disappointing and an expensive waste: Milk - I always buy the lowfat gallon containers and they always go off at least 4 days before the sell by date. Either the date is incorrect or the milk is not being transported at the correct heat. We tried freezing half the gallon to try to avoid this but both halves go off quickly Asparagus - every time I buy it and open it same day it is slimy and limp and inedible Peppers - 6 pack of multi coloured peppers are usually soft and mouldy when you cut into them, again transporting them without the right heat could be a cause Apples - soft and powdery inside Living on the other side of the island, over an hours drive away, means it is hard to return spoiled food/milk quickly. It is an expensive problem for us and annoying as food is already so expensive on island. Please Costco buyers and managers in Kahului, ensure your standards are being met and that customers are not buying spoiled food!

There is fun game arcade, a food court with decent options , a stage in the middle of the mall at the entrance. Was not really keen to visit the mall as I was more interested in local Hawaiin stuff, but there was something specific I still hadn't found, I thought I might find it there. But, am glad I came. The open feel of the mall is its uniqueness. Birds freely come in and go- its pretty. The garage is worth parking simply for the view. It was very quiet , the people in the store were very friendly inspite of not many people being around. And then there is the art. KA WAHINE O KEKOA It is only when one has lived with another that one knows the meaning of love. Maui's famous artist , Fathima Mohiuddin painted the "Ka Wahine o Kekoa" mural at Queen Ka'ahumanu Center in 2022. It was worth the visit for the very different feel than any big mall I have ever visited.
