Honestly this store has always had the greatest customer service. They make me feel welcome and have always gone above and beyond for me. Even when I wasn't... But especially when I was pregnant and they would carry my heavy stuff out to my car. Aiden remembered what I always get and helped my mom grab my dogs food. And just recently I had a sleeping baby in the car and I didn't want to wake her up so he grabbed the food for me and i was in and out fast. They always let me pet the Kahoots pets. Hi! I'm a huge fan of Kahoots because they only sell brands that are approved by them. So no pedigree, Ol' Roy or Rachel ray at Kahoots. (Sorry not sorry). They aren't selling crap. I can buy anything (food wise) in the store with peace of mind. The toys can be a bit pricey. My pup LOVES the frisbees they have. The Kahoots brand. They are soft and lightweight. No other frisbees she'll go after. Besides plastic which hurts her gums. The employees are always so great as well and treat my pittie the way she deserves to be treated.. like a pretty princess. They know her by name at this point. Hats off to the staff and Kahoots as a whole. read more

Never had an issue before today, always found this location to be friendly and welcoming. Not today, won't be back. The two young kids working greeted me just fine and welcoming, the same can not be said about the older lady. Rude to a point I walked out, all because she didn't like my dog. Aren't you a pet store? This place is the "Trader Joes" of pet stores. They have a wide selection of organic pet products. The staff is very knowledgeable about their products and can answer all of your pet needs. We came here in search of products for our new puppy in particular an organic spray to keep our pup from biting his playpen and they had a good selection of possible organic solutions. Pros- wide variety, well organized, and fully stocked. Cons- pricey. Definitely not the place to come for toys. read more

One employee (Aiden, I think) saw me struggling to get my two young kids in and out of the car just to get a bag of dog food and suggested I call ahead and pay over the phone and then call again when I arrive and someone would bring it out. This place has great prices. I love that the shelves are stocked and cleaned. The prices are very moderate and not to high. The customer service is one of the things here that I like here. They really make you feel as if every discussion you make and or every discussion they make is the right one for you. The store is big clean there is not trash on the floor and or on the shelves. Amazing customer service!!! I went to the grossmont store hoping to find the dog food my dog likes. They were out of the 15 and 30 lbs bags so I bought the other grain free one which we have had to buy the last time they were out. But last time when I did a cold hard change my dog got really sick. I know you aren't supposed to do that but I didn't anticipate them being out. I was hesitant to buy it again but knew I needed to feed her so the other grain free option would be better than an entire new brand. The lady told me it was a Kahoots wide shortage but I decided to call the El Cajon one anyway. They didn't have the size I needed either but they were willing to exchange the big bag for 6 of the smaller bags at the same cost. Johnny was so helpful and kind and helped me bring out the bags to the car and gave my puppy a treat she was eyeing or should I say trying to eat. Needless to say I love this store and their customer service which is why I always choose them over petco! read more

My dog has been really sick for months and refusing to eat and everyone I've interacted with has been really helpful and caring. I saw this place on my way to Petco & decided to give it a try. I always try to support local if possible, and I was excited! Plenty of parking, and the nicest employees anywhere. Once I walked in I was happily greeted & asked if I needed help finding anything. I was looking for a harness for my pup. The woman showed me exactly where they were and then helped me find the right size. Then she opened it up and showed me how to put it on & even fit it to Finn right there. She was so nice to be around! And the music was awesome in there! I actually told her that, it was like South American music you could dance to. I almost made Finn dance with me. Every time I e been back, the people are genuinely happy and seem to really love animals. It's such a pleasure going there, I don't mind that errand one bit! read more

First time today going. Love it! They have very good prices. The guy had a great talk to me on what to buy for my bread dragon, then I was walking looking for dog food. They help me out on free dog samples. They have such a great clean store and happy to know they dont support puppy mills, and they dont sell puppies. I'll be going here for now on since they are not high prices. Great friendly people who actually care what you have to say. There dog food has no corn, wheat, soy or by product. Very cheap prices. Was in need for wet dog food for my spoiled fur kids. I usually go to Petco or Petsmart but this place wasn't too bad for a smaller pet store chain. I discovered Kahoot's wet food which I wasn't sure how it would go over with my 3 little ones. They licked the bowl clean that speaks volumes in my house. The customer service was phenomenal! Price wise it comparable to both Pet store chains out there. I will be back for more dog food for sure. read more

We have been going to Kahoots for years to get their brand of dog food for our husky and Rottweiler mix. Our dogs love the food and the stores offer a military discount which is awesome! Our husky has been having terrible skin allergies the past month or so and we noticed that Kahoots recently changed the bag that their food comes in. We were wondering if they changed the ingredients as well and that maybe it was a food allergy that was causing him to be so itchy. We called up the store and spoke to Liz. She was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and courteous! She answered all of our questions and was so pleasant. The food isn't causing the issue, but she offered other ideas and help based off of the pets that have been coming into the location. Her customer service was exceptional. read more

i wanted to check out this new pet store in rancho san diego in the target shopping center. if you know me...i frequent a lot of pet stores to see what i can buy for my little love. the store is large and has your typical dog supplies. they do however, have a vast array of collars and leashes...perfect if you love to accessorize your little puppy. the store has somewhat of a southern feel and they sell items for dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, birds and horses. they are overpriced even compared to the commercial pet stores. this was a one time visit for me and despite the over priced products...i did resort to a 'pity buy' since i knew i wouldn't be returning again. if you want reasonable prices see my previous review regarding the pet supply in bonita. read more

I first found Kahoots in La Mesa and I love all the stores. I recently started going to the Rancho San Diego location. They have great customer service and staff is always very helpful. They go the extra mile and ask questions about your pet and try to help you find what is best for your pet and they do not push products on you. They helped me find a cheaper food for my dog who has allergies. I read a few of the negative reviews and they are completely untrue. The manager is wonderful to all the customers and takes time to get to know them. If they do not carry a product, you can put in a request for them to carry it. read more

Sale prices are fantastic. Exclusive items are very nice quality. My dogs, who happen to have terrible hot spot issues, are thriving on the grain free salmon & sweet potato Kahoots brand dog food. Their skin & coats are so much better after just 1 bag! The only item I've purchased & don't recommend is the Kahoots brand cat litter.
