We were very excited when this new kid on the block opened a year or so ago, adding a bit of colour to the neighbourhood...well, figurative colour, as the place itself is pretty stark and lacklustre.
The menu is not very expansive, but that's ok when the things that they do, they do well. The mixed kebabs and dumplings were both nicely done, and we enjoyed selecting a few desserts from the window we were unfamiliar with, but pleasantly surprised with. The staff seem like lovely people, even if not overly professional (feels like you're in someone's kitchen at times).
We've only been the once and keep aiming to return, but TBH the great options just across the road keep winning us over. Still, it's great to see it starting to fill up most weekend nights (especially now it's BYO), as having some diverse options breaking up the Pizza-Indian-Thai-repeat of the suburban strip malls is more than welcome and wish there was more of it. Thus; will get back soon to further support Kabul House soon. read more
