Pictures circle social media of donuts bursting with filling, loads of icing, and creations that you see in your dreams. This year I made it my mission to visit and see these masterpieces for myself. They have basic ones and super ones. They don't make all the flavours listed every day during the holiday but they offer at least a dozen of different varieties. They are also constantly coming out with fresh trays. I checked out and then they brought a tray of double chocolate before I left the building so I had to get more. The counter is run by 1 person on cash and a few working in the kitchen. Yes, the prices are on the more expensive side; however, these are not your everyday donut. Staff are welcoming. There was a constant stream of people. Pretty laid back, help-yourself atmosphere. The donuts themselves? Not too sweet and very filling. Wouldn't have minded them a bit sweeter. The only downside to this place was that not every kind of donut advertised was available. Otherwise, definitely worth a visit

Honestly, this is a gem for beautiful cakes and cookies. If you like rugelach, see my pic of an enormous, rugelach style cookie you can easily share with 3 or 4 people with a cup of coffee. The prices are fairly reasonable, just watch out for the small store next door, as the gentleman doesnt put a sticker on some of the items, and I ended up paying $8.00 for a schmear of tuna mixed with mayo and sriracha (at least that's what I thought). Anyways, for a true 'Nash' check this place out. Dont come for the service, come for the treats!

The Afghani ice cream had such an interestingly pleasant texture and rich milk & cardamom flavor. They have two sizes, small (closer like a medium tbh) for $8 or large for $16. The portion is quite large, its stretchy texture allows it to sit on top of itself like a soft serve would. It came topped with crushed pistachios and what I believe was condensed milk? If you've ever had rasmalai before, this ice cream tastes exactly like it. SO GOOD. Mocha honey cake was decent, the texture was on point but I wasn't the biggest fan of the frosting (like a buttercream??) and caramel they used, which is why I docked a star. It was also $9 per slice. I think mocha is a cool spin on traditional medovik, but my expectations were a bit different since I'm used to the traditional Eastern European version where the frosting base should be made with sour cream. Their staff is very hospitable & the atmosphere is cute and very clean. Aside from cakes, pastries, and ice cream, they also sell gelato, large quantities of high quality saffron, organic dried nuts, mulberries, and raisins! Overall, cool spot with a unique dessert I'd highly recommend people from other backgrounds should give a try. The Afghan ice cream is really good and honestly the only thing I'd stick to if I came back.

Vegetables were top notch. This particular vendor's farm is located in Grimsby. Lots of maple syrups and preserves too. Saw beauty products from Africa (PURE shea butter) and creams. I find some items have prices marked and others don't. They open early six days a week but close early on Fridays and Sundays and are closed on Saturdays. We were going to be visiting the area and this has been on my bucket list for a while. There are…read moredifferent experiences that you can partake in that range between a few hours. There is a full beekeeping experience where you will don a keepers suit and work directly with the hives. We opted for a less intense experience where we would learn how to bottle our own honey and visit the Kunekune pigs they own. We booked online the previous night before we headed up. We got there and it's a little nondescript. When you first drive in, you'll see a family home. A bit farther down the hill on the left is the store and the commercial area of the property. We were greeted by the employee. We let her know that we had booked an experience. We were booked back to back with another experience so she let us know that we could browse the store while we waited. We booked a little bit later at night so it turns out Peter, who would be leading the tour, wasn't aware that we were going to be there yet. It didn't matter though, he didn't miss a beat once they turned up. He and a guest had just completed the bee keeping experience and they were both sweating like no tomorrow. Dress appropriately for the beekeeper's experience, it gets hot in those suits! The first stop in the lesson was seeing what happens to the frames once they arrive back at the honey farm. We were taken to the hot honey room. This is where all the frames are stored before processing. It was indeed hot in there but it smelled amazing! There were also some stray bees in there but we were assured they weren't in the mood to sting. We got to look at two different ways of harvesting the honey. There was the commercial harvested which was an industrial looking machine. The second was device that was more manual and used centrifugal forces to spin the honey off of the frames. We got to try our hand at this one! After this we had to leave the honey to filter out any remaining wax or bits in there. We got to sample select batches of the flavoured honey beer that they were brewing. It wasn't for sale yet but it was really good. We also went to visit the pigs and chickens on the farm. The pigs are really friendly! We were lucky enough to be there when one of the Kunekune mamas had piglets! The 3 piglets were super friendly and mom didn't mind us petting them at all. These piglets had really pretty colouring on them. They really enjoyed petting and scratching against our feet. They were also teething so much like a puppy would, so they would nibble on our shoes and shoelaces. Super cute and no damage. After that we went back to bottle our fresh honey. We did get to taste the honey throughout the process. If you're a fan of honey and bees this is the best way to do it! Peter and his wife Sarah were great through the whole process. They answered all of our questions and were genuinely excited to share their knowledge with us. Definitely recommend a little trip out of Toronto for this experience!

We did the yelp experience and got to handle the honey combs which we literally combed for extraction via centrifuge. Meanwhile the family-operated owners shared about the bees and the honey business. They are bee stewards and truly support the honey bee populations around the city. They mentioned having hives in Toronto! I picked up the dessert mead and mead salted caramels. Oh lala these handmade caramels are delicious. The dessert mead is quite sweet like an ice wine or plum wine. It will make a nice aperitif. The fresh honey is very nice. Lightly fragrant and perfect for drizzling. It's a beautiful place and the products are made with love and care.
