They have basque cheesecake which is more rich and the flavour I'm sure the person I'm gifting would confidently enjoy but I wasn't sure if they would prefer the lightness of the their popular options over the classic. She explained the glazed popular cheesecakes they have aren't regular New York style cheese cake (despite their Uber Eats describing it as such for their Yakult flavour cheese cake). It's more like cheesecake mousse. I didn't want to get the basque cheesecake because it didn't look as nice. So she said the black sesame is in between the classic basque / New York cheese cake and the popular glazed mousse cheesecake. It's also made of marscapone and layered with matcha and not too sweet. It's also her fav so I went with her recommendation. I notice the sesame cake isn't shown as available on Uber Eats delivery. I decided to pick up in person to make sure the delivery goes smoothly. The price difference is just $1. However, Uber Eats does charge tax and other fees whereas there's no tax at all on pick up. However, the staff does hand you the payment and there's tip option of 10% as the lowest suggested option, which I found kinda excessive for just putting a cake in the box. They don't even make cakes at this location it's all made in the Sauga location and she didn't even write the happy birthday on the cake. I know it's optional but it's just the consumer experience, I tipped but I feel like the tipping culture is a bit excessive to pass onto the consumer for an expensive cake. Just price the cake fairly to compensate the employee or waive for pick ups and have it for only dine ins. Unlike the previous review, it seems like they do provide a little free happy birthday topper and also a complimentary skinny candle and you're also welcome to buy extra candles if you want. They also sell some $10~ helium balloons add on that is like a balloon in a balloon which looks festive as well. This is their second location. The main one being in Sauga, which has been in operation for over 25 years apparently. This one I was told was opened in the last 2 years.

The Christmas special was Dark Chocolate mousse with full of Christmas decorations. The cake we ordered online and it was ready on time. The cake was not as sweet as we understand, the first layer was exactly dark chocolate mousse, 2nd layer was strawberries mousse that a bit sour, and inside has a real piece of dark chocolate. That's really full of layers. The decorations were also holiday themed. We added a chocolate signature to say Happy birthday to father. We love this type of cake, not too sweet, but full of surprises.

It was also very light which was great as we had activities planned. We ordered it the day before and the cake tasted great the next day so easy to store leftovers. Would be interested in going to the store and trying more things in the future.

Their salted caramel croissant is beautifully laminated and filled with just the right amount of caramel. In fact, their croissants across the board are solid--flaky, tender, and buttery without being greasy. The sourdough bread is excellent, and the espresso drinks are reliably strong and well-crafted. It may look like Paris inside, but don't let that inspire your inner Francophile--the staff are lovely, but no one's following your French. I think the chai tea drink was a bit weak in flavour and they missed adding milk to my berry and pea flower green tea. They did help separate what needed to be refrigerated vs room temp which was great for transport but *I think* the chocolate tarte did ooze some caramel onto to the box on our 40 min drive. The front staff highlighted their croissant and pain au chocolat when I ask for their recommendations but I have to say their cream puff, chocolate tart and berry cake we tried were our favs. I wish I have gotten more of that cream puff. I saw 1 left of that sticky toffee pudding and should've gotten one to try given I see such rave reviews for it. Next time!

It was actually really hard to choose but ended up getting the regular, mocha, and chocolate salt bread. The salt bread had the perfect level of saltiness and was quite buttery. The other thing is that it is a bit denser compared to the ones in Korea. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 flavours with the classic being my fave. This is by far the closest one to the one I had in Korea so far and it makes me so happy to know I can easily get good salt bread now at Lazy Bakery.
