The cake was not as sweet as we understand, the first layer was exactly dark chocolate mousse, 2nd layer was strawberries mousse that a bit sour, and inside has a real piece of dark chocolate. That's really full of layers. The decorations were also holiday themed. We added a chocolate signature to say Happy birthday to father. The service is consistently warm, and the pastry case is hard to resist. We've tried many of their cakes, and the blackcurrant queen cake is hands down our favorite--tart, elegant, and just sweet enough. Their salted caramel croissant is beautifully laminated and filled with just the right amount of caramel. In fact, their croissants across the board are solid--flaky, tender, and buttery without being greasy. The sourdough bread is excellent, and the espresso drinks are reliably strong and well-crafted. It may look like Paris inside, but don't let that inspire your inner Francophile--the staff are lovely, but no one's following your French. Still, this is the kind of place that keeps regulars coming back. We're definitely among them.

The latte was super smooth but it's the chocolate puff ball that made me want to leave a review. I'm not usually into pastries, especially ones with stuff in the middle but this had a nice thin crispy shell with a cool tasty chocolate puff in the middle that wasn't too rich or overwhelming.. I love that they're a local business too. Easy reco and can't wait to go back

I think the chai tea drink was a bit weak in flavour and they missed adding milk to my berry and pea flower green tea. They did help separate what needed to be refrigerated vs room temp which was great for transport but *I think* the chocolate tarte did ooze some caramel onto to the box on our 40 min drive. The front staff highlighted their croissant and pain au chocolat when I ask for their recommendations but I have to say their cream puff, chocolate tart and berry cake we tried were our favs. I wish I have gotten more of that cream puff. I saw 1 left of that sticky toffee pudding and should've gotten one to try given I see such rave reviews for it. Next time!
