Last Friday night I went to K Illusion with a group of 6. Feel like you've been there before but you don't recognize the name? It's because it was once K Box and Melody separately but now combined to be one karaoke business. We booked a room and only paid $9 each between the 6 of us. Apparently to my friends, that's pretty cheap but it was my first karaoke experience in Adelaide anyways. They only gave us two microphones, so that was a little disappointing. Moreover, since the microphones were built to only register sounds close to the microphone, sharing simultaneously was a no-go. We had some technological difficulties like changing the volume of the music rather than changing the volume of the microphone. We had to get some assistance from one of the employees to help us switch from non-English music to English music in the beginning too. Aside from that, we had a blast! Justin Bieber songs and Taylor Swift songs are always amusing. We tried Mariah Carey but "We Belong Together" was too emo for us. read more

Absolutely horrible!! Nothing would work we had to keep coming out asking for them to fix the mics or the music, we asked for a refund because we got sick of asking and they would not refund and just keep trying to ignore us (there was another person complaining also) and they treated us and our friends very disrespectfully we asked for a manger and we got ignored and the main person we dealt with was incredibly rude and didn't help the situation at all - Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Me and a few friends went to K Illusion last week. We were just walking along Hindley Street and spotted their business sign, so we decided to give the place a go. Inside, the receiving area was neat and spacious. I was eyeing the bar and got really excited seeing many different varieties of alcohol on display (the last karaoke place we went to only had Soju and other Korean drinks to serve). We looked at their drinks list and were delighted to see cocktails, shots, etc... We ordered three different kinds of drinks (two, in a jug) and payed what I first thought was a reasonable price. We were then showed to our room. It was alright, although it was a little small. The couches were comfortable but really close to the big screen mounted on the wall. I particularly liked the touch screen operator, although it was a bit hard to figure out at first. The drinks were served, and I have to say that I was a bit disappointed. The cocktail that I ordered was bland. It was like, half-filled with water. And all the drinks that were served to us looked nothing like the pictures in their menu. Also, we ordered food, and it was fantastic! I guess the drinks were the big let down. Would I go back to K Illusion? Yeah, I might give it another go. Maybe try a different drink next time. Awful in so many ways. Got this deal on a Groupon thank goodness as I'd never pay full price for it We had minimal help with how to work the music system out. Minimal English songs. Not all microphones worked I'm guessing if you are Japanese you would be happy as it's mainly in Asian language and songs The platter for 10 people was a joke. It was supposed to be a mixed platter with spring rolls chips etc but all's it was was chips, wedges and potato gems on a very small plate I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone Minimal room to move around as the couch and table took up most of the room. Good music selection, friendly staff, clean facilities. The only complaint is that everything is overpriced.
