Teriyaki salmon & shrimps with veggies & white rice
    Monica H.

12-22-2025 since I no longer can get into my elite yelp account. I've been to this establishment several times. Usually picking up dinners here on Tuesdays & Fridays. We usually end up with 2 teriyaki salmon & grilled shrimps with veggies & white rice. Everything here is served hot & delicious. Service is quick and the owner is very personable. A few tables inside and I believe they have a terayaki chicken bowl with a drink as a lunch special.

I've been coming to K-Grill since they were new. Both the food and service have remained great! The food is consistently fresh and delicious with generous portions. My go to's are the Avocado Plate (Vegetaruan) or the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. Sides of Jalapenos, green onions, fresh ginger, teriyaki and hot sauce are available. Check out this local owned spot, you will not be disappointed!

Chicken & Fried Shrimp Plate, with Brown Rice, add Avocado. 10/10, would definitely recommend

K Grill is my favorite teriyaki spot. I have tried almost everything and never disappointed. My personal favorite is the Chicken & Fried Shrimp plate. I like that you can substitute brown rice.

Chicken plate, sub extra white meat. Sub salad for veggies.

The food is fresh and delicious, and the portions are huge, especially for the price. No wonder the place was a madhouse at lunchtime. This will definitely become a go-to spot for me.

    Side of kimchi, surprisingly spicy

Got a spicy pork bowl with veggies and a side of kimchi to go. Their "bowl" was the size of a plate anywhere else. Huge portion. Came with a side of extra teriyaki sauce, sriracha sauce, and jalapenos. Meat was very tender and flavorful. Veggies was 95% cabbage which was ok with me but some people would probably prefer more variety. Rice was steamed perfectly. I ordered a bowl thinking "I'll have a lite lunch" so I was surprised by the huge portion. I was stuffed after finishing. Kimchi had a nice kick and went great with the spicy pork. Friendly service, good food, and close to home. Will definitely be back!

K-Grill is a cute place in HB. Newly remodeled with space to sit and dine. The staff is extremely nice and very helpful. They do DoorDash delivery. Parking is limited in front but I'm sure you can find a space. I tried the mix chicken and beef with veggies. Very tasty. They have chicken, beef, shrimp and salmon as your option and it comes with veggies and or rice. The place is very clean.

This is your typical teriyaki mom and pop run shop. You can call in and order to pick up as well. Ordered the beef bowl ($10) and Chicken and veggies bowl ($10). They also have vegetarian and pescatarian options like avocado bowl, veggie bowl, and salmon bowl. The veggies included cabbage, carrots, and broccoli. Honestly nothing fancy but the bowls were really tasty! Meat was grilled perfectly and flavorful. Make sure to ask for green onions, teriyaki sauce, and hot sauce too!

My hope is that management can use this as constructive feedback to fix some obvious quality control and service issues. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing sushi experiences I've had in the past couple of years. For $22 total ($10 for the standard Tuna Roll and $12 for the standard Eel Roll, not a dragon roll which was I think close to $20 or over), the baseline quality and service just weren't there: * Portions & Value: Both rolls were cut into 5 pieces instead of the standard 8. Paying $22 for a grand total of 10 skimpy pieces is a tough sell on value alone, but the assembly made it worse. The rolls were haphazardly made, falling apart on the plate, and stuffed with minimal fish filling. * Freshness: The fish did not taste fresh and had a strange, off flavor to it--possibly an inventory turnover issue. Freshness is everything at a sushi bar, and having to worry about food safety after a meal is never a good sign. * Kitchen Execution: The $12 Eel roll arrived completely dry without any sauce. The server brought over teriyaki sauce when I had 2 pieces left as if they forgot to put it on. So I drenched the sushi in the sauce to hopefully cover the flavor only to realize he gave me teriyaki sauce for a rice bowl instead of standard unagi/eel sauce. * Management Response: When I brought up to the manager that the eel roll really was not good, she walked back to the kitchen, came back, and simply said, I spoke with the chef and he said it was normal. Bottom Line: Errors happen in restaurants, but brushing off customer feedback, using odd sauce substitutions, and serving loose, dry rolls with questionable fish quality shows a serious need for retraining. Hopefully, management takes a closer look at what's coming out of that kitchen. Look elsewhere in OC for sushi

Location looks sketchy, but the food is good and price is very reasonable. Black Ramen (pork broth, black garlic oil, chashu, egg, green onion, beansprout, wood-ear mushroom) was really good. Great tasting broth without being too salty. Yellowtail Jalapeño Roll was excellent. Had this type of roll at other places, but the one here just tasted more vibrant. Very refreshing with a good amount of spiciness. Akuma Roll was good but was different than I expected. Based on the name I thought it would have a more menacing presentation with a super spicy kick to it, but it was rather tame and too bright in presentation. It has 4 types of fish, avocado, spicy mayo, soy mustard, truffle ponzu sauce, and soy paper. Service seemed efficient as we got our food pretty quickly, despite being busy. However, it took a while for us to get our check at the end.

If you dine alone, understand this before putting your name down: in my experience, a party of one…read moreis not treated as a party of equal priority here. I say that as someone who is not an occasional customer. I come here roughly every other day. I spend hundreds of dollars here in a typical week. I know the menu, order immediately, make virtually no special requests, finish my meal within 30-40 minutes, and routinely tip 20-25%. I am about as low-maintenance and commercially reliable a customer as a restaurant could ask for. Apparently, none of that matters once the number beside your name on the waitlist is "1." The restaurant has counter seating directly in front of the grills--the area where solo diners and couples are commonly seated. When I arrived, there were individual seats available between other parties. I checked in for one and waited approximately 30 minutes. During that wait, I watched those available seats effectively disappear as seating was rearranged to accommodate larger parties. At first, I gave the staff the benefit of the doubt. The manager who normally handles seating was not there, and I assumed they were simply working down the Yelp waitlist in chronological order. Then a party of five that had checked in well after me was seated at a table before I was. At that point, the logic became fairly obvious: rather than seat one person in an available counter seat, they were waiting for a diner in the corner to finish so that I could be placed there instead. When I raised this with Kenny, who identified himself as the person in charge of the shift, his explanation was essentially that he understood I was upset, but that I needed to understand his position: he did not think it was appropriate to seat me between two other parties because there supposedly was not enough space. That explanation did not resolve the issue. It confirmed it. If an available seat is considered usable when it helps accommodate a larger party, but somehow unsuitable when it would allow a solo customer to be seated in a reasonable order, then the operative distinction is not space. It is party size. Restaurants understandably have to maximize seating efficiency. I do not expect a four-top to be sacrificed for one person, nor do I expect special treatment because I am a regular. What I do expect is something much more basic: that a customer not be quietly moved behind people who arrived later simply because the restaurant has decided their party is economically more convenient. There is also something particularly tone-deaf about telling a customer who has rightfully identified an observable disparity in treatment that they need to "understand" management's position. I understood the position perfectly. That was the problem. A loyal customer should not need to arrive with three additional bodies in order for his place in line to retain its meaning. So, for anyone who frequently eats alone: take this experience into account before coming here. You may see open counter seats. You may have checked in before larger parties. You may be a regular. You may be courteous, fast, uncomplicated, and generous with your tips. And you may still discover that, here, one person is treated as less urgent than five. That is a remarkably effective way to make a frequent customer reconsider being one.

I want to be clear that we've always enjoyed the food here, although even our most recent meal fell short. The real issue, however, has been the wait times, which have become unreasonable. Today my order was estimated to be ready at 7:15 PM. It is now 8PM and I am still waiting. For context, I placed the order at 6:00 PM. Meanwhile, guests continue to arrive and are being seated. Spending nearly two hours waiting in the lobby for a to-go order--both today and on our last visit--is simply unacceptable. The waitress did offer a free dessert and a gift card, which I declined because, unfortunately, we do not plan on returning. She then offered $20 off the bill. While the gesture was noted, it does little to address the broader issue when the bill is $130 and the wait has been this excessive. If the owners are reading this, please take a serious look at how orders are being managed. If the kitchen cannot handle the volume, online orders should be paused until the system is fixed. This used to be a place we genuinely loved, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. At this point, however, the wait and frustration simply aren't worth it anymore.
