I just finished a ham and cheese croissant from KDs donuts. Let's just call it a ham and croissant. There was basically no cheese. This is the reason I started going to a different donut shop but I thought I'd give them another go after some time off. I was wrong, it was a very dry ham croissant, no cheese. I needed "props" to fill my dessert table and, naturally, wanted to look for something edible, inexpensive, yet great on camera. I found my way into K D's Donuts located on Pigeon Pass Road and Ironwood Avenue, just north of the 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley. I already knew what I wanted since all I thought about was something to complement the theme so I picked out a dozen donuts: some maple glaze, regular glaze, sugar, powdered sugar, coconut, cinnamon, lemon-filled, etc. The owners in the shop were very nice and friendly. They carefully packaged my donuts into a cute pink box and I was merrily on my way. Just a note: This donut shop is Cash Only. Overall, I was really pleased at the look of the donuts. And the guests enjoyed eating them. Got a lot of compliments with the dessert table. At the end of the party, I tasted one of the cinnamon donuts and it was still nice and fluffy. I stopped in after working out in the area and I needed to pick up a couple of dozen for a client in Perris. The shop was on the small side and noticed is not the cleanest donut shop I've ever visited. What was really disturbed my was that the Asian lady was on a cell phone the entire time she helped me while she picked my 2 dozen mixed. I really thought she was rude. To top it off when I looked at the donuts which were all in one box and the variety was nothing to write home about. I was so pissed I didn't even bother tasting one. It's so charming i love it. Crumb donuts are my all time favorite but for whatever reason, many places have them all dry. Maybe they sit out because they aren't sold often? I don't know! Only cash payments in 2017 and they do not have a ATM or have a suggestion as to where an ATM is located. Seems dozen donuts are more expensive here than other places as well at $9.50.
