The restaurant has a really cool, nostalgic atmosphere with vintage signs, records, automotive décor, neon lights, and even a giant hot dog hanging from the ceiling. There's so much to look at, and the whole place has a lively, casual vibe. Of course, you can't go to Portillo's without talking about the food! Everything we had was fresh, filling, and really good. Their classic Chicago-style comfort food definitely hits the spot, and the portions were generous. It was the perfect kind of food for a casual event where everyone could eat, mingle, and enjoy themselves. I also liked that they have self-service kiosks if you want to skip the line and order quickly. The staff was friendly and accommodating throughout our visit. Overall, I had a great experience. Between the food, fun atmosphere, and the Southwest Airlines and National University event, it was definitely a memorable visit to Portillo's in The Colony!

This was some gourmet hotdog and about a quarter pound that actually was seasoned really well. If you know what I mean about how a hotdog can have a good season. It was served on a toasted bun that turned out to be the King's Hawaiian rolls, but that was done perfectly The chili was quite tasty. It was nice and finally ground meat with no fillers no beans no oats no nothing. It was just chill And then, finally, the cheese was actually a queso sauce. It was very good. So, well, I don't like paying $13.50 for a chili cheese dog, this one is the best I've ever had and certainly worth it. This place is worth a try, bring your wallet and don't be shy

If they worked the cheese into the meat and/or upgraded their roll, it's got a chance for a higher score. My order: Philly with provolone and onions. Bread: Generic roll. Too much roll vs cheese/steak. Steak: Ribeye. Thicker cut - unique take. Cheese: Provolone. Good portion and taste. Not worked into steak. Onions: Thicker cut. Well cooked. Other: Size of cheesesteak is about half of that of a traditional Philly cheesesteak. And combination of too much roll vs. cheese/steak as well as the steak not being worked into the meat often leaves you with the individual taste of either roll, cheese, or steak throughout the sandwich.
