It's been a big week around here by anybody's standards. Today, K Designers finished installing the windows on the house, and I can't say enough good things about them. One of the things that had me wary about replacing the awfully inefficient, single pane windows on the first floor of my 96 year old house was the fact that I loved that they were wood, and matched the frames as well as the rest of the house. Well, K Designers was able to dye the vinyl to nearly match the existing wood, retaining the charm of the originals. They're energy efficient, double hung, easy to clean, have built in safety features, and should reduce some of the road noise I get from very busy street I live on. On top of that, I could see my utility bills drop by as much as 30%, which in an old house is HUGE! They wrapped the exterior frame of the windows in black vinyl to match the shudders upstairs. I really think it makes the place pop without being gaudy or overstated. I'll save that for my wardrobe. The guy they had do the work was on time, efficient, very pleasant to talk to, and left the place cleaner than when he got there. Of all the contractors or home improvement companies I've worked with, this has by far been my best experience. And they do more than just windows! They do all sorts of home improvement projects. Took my check for bathroom remodel 2 months ago. Have not called me since. I had to contact them after 6 weeks. (Work was supposed to start in 5 to 6 weeks)Called once and was told not all the custom material for my remodel was in. That was a couple of weeks ago. Feel like I'm being given the run around. My contract wasn't completed. I was supposed to receive shutters and they defaulted on those. There were issues after the siding install that two people from k-designers took pictures of but no one ever fixed. When I called I was told I had to take pictures and fill out this long form before they could look into it. Then they sent someone who spoke zero. English with no appointment who just showed up at my door around 5 pm and I tried to explain that I had to go pick up my dog who had had surgery that day before the vet closed. He couldn't understand so he left and never came back. These are not good guys. They just want to sell siding and they do not care at all what happens after that sale. read more

Our daughter had received a quote for new siding and replacing windows in her home. She was told that anyone that she referred that end up getting work done, she would receive a $300 referral bonus. We decided to get new siding and a bathroom remodel. Our work was completed 11-2023, she hasn't gotten her referral bonus. She contacted the company......crickets. Lifetime warranty? Our sales rep told us you could hit the siding with a baseball bat and it wouldn't be damaged. Less than 6 months later, our siding has cracks. We contacted the company about having warranty work done........crickets. This is a terrible company, no way I would recommend them to anybody considering work being done to their home. read more

I had K-Designers do the siding work on my house. Love that they had warranty and the price was right. When it was time for them to come and do the work... they did not show up for a couple week. I contact my saleman..he said oh I thought it was completed...(first flag).. then we had this storm come through in the late spring in Co Bluffs,.. It put one hole on the North side of my house. I called K-Designers and sent pictures and made a claim. They gave me a claim number..(the call was made on July 10th). The claim department stated that someone in Omaha will contact me. I waited a month. Contacted the claim department, they sent another email. I follow up every 2 weeks. then Production manager called me in October and said I will be over. So we had to pull our camper out of the driveway so he can replace the work. I warned him it is a split level home to bring a tall ladder. He shows up with a ladder that can be folded up in a SUV. I asked him.. how are you going to replace this...then said oh.. I didnt bring tall enough ladder (2nd flag). I waited for him over a week.. then he shows up... he said I can t do it.. my knees wont let me climb the ladder. He would get back to me. I waited 2 weeks. then he text me and stated oh.. maybe you get someone to do the work.. the siding is at your house. (3rd flag). I said NO'! it is warranty work. a month go by and he calls me and said we will be over in a bit. I said I am out of town and the camper is in the drive way... He said oh. that s ok we can get on top of your camper and change it out. I said NOOO you are not going to do that. He said I will have my guy come by and see if there is enough clearing between the house and camper and get back. I get pictures of the siding completed and he did walked on top of my camper. I had high hopes after talking with the salesman. After he reassured that they take pride in the work and have high standards. Also told me the job is not done and I don't pay the last amount until I am satisfied. After getting a phone call that my windows were ready early and they would replace them sooner than expected, I was excited. Unfortunately it went down more every step of the way from there. They pushed the date 3 times after telling me when they planned to start each time.(I took off the first 2 times and wife took off the third time) after I got home from work my wife isn't pleased that they made her pay them before they left and I could get home. They broke one of the window when taking it out which I understand happens but they left several pieces of glass out side and we found several small shards inside that was a issue since we have 4 kids (3 under the age of 5) it took 2 times of them coming out to get it cleaned up(we cleaned the inside). They also put a whole in my wall and instead of saying anything to us they moved our recliner in front of the whole. When they came back to fix it they only mudded the big hole instead of fixing it correctly. When I had the supervisor came he asked if we were ok with leaving it that way and I had to insist before they would paint the area they mudded. I also had to have them replace the top trim due to damage that they were going to leave. I am still fighting with them over the screens on the double hung window and blinds. First the screens. I was never given the option so I assumed with double hung I would have full screens so I could use both sides of the windows. Nope they installed a half screen instead (I would have been happy to pay for the full if they would have said something) I will probably end up doing this on my own. Now the blinds. I fully expect they were going to reinstall my old blinds since I was replacing my windows. Instead they changed the width of them and none of my old blinds now work. They measured the windows at least 2 different times that I know off. If they know they were going to change the sizes they should have said something and I would have once again been happy to pay for new ones and had them install them. I will now have to probably do this on my own as well. This company is terrible and I will not use them again. As well as anytime someone I know is looking into windows I will steer them away from this company. read more

Do yourself a favor and check up on this company. Don't sign anything, don't let them in your home. They're basically a predatory loan company. We were getting quotes for projects around our house. Typically a man in a truck shows up, he's the one who actually does the work, and because he's busy he checks everything out quickly, gives you a quote, and then leaves. However, this guy didn't show up the first meeting, and rescheduled. Then when he arrived, he was driving a small car, wore dress pants and street shoes, carried a laptop bag, and looked like he never did manual labor in his life. He wouldn't talk to my wife unless we were both there, which was weird, and he asked a bunch of useless questions about other projects in our house. He also said he was a "marketing director" and wanted to "invest in our house." Investing implies you're giving me money, not the other way around. He then gave a rambling speech about their company, where they get their materials, etc. Honestly it sounded like he was trying to prepare us for an unreasonably high quote. Apparently, based on other reviews for this company, there's a 3 hour version of this speech, but maybe because it was the middle of the day he decided to spare us the attempt. Finally, he said he would measure our house and give us an estimate. He looked like he was just going through the motions to be honest. When he was done he started by asking us MORE questions like: "What would you think the difference is between a $55k car and a $15k car?" "What's the difference between a $60 pair of shoes and a $20 pair of shoes?" No one cares buddy, just give me a quote and leave. Finally, he gave us a quote, which was obscenely high. He then asked if we would be paying all at once, or if we wanted to finance. We said we didn't know, we'd have to talk about it. Like most people we don't just spent thousands of dollars on a whim. Then he asked if we wanted to do some paperwork to see how much financing would be. No, I'm not letting you do a credit check to get more information on me. Finally he left, and if you weren't already sure this company is shady, he didn't even leave the quote behind for us. From what I understand, this company preys on your patience. They know that most people won't just tell them to leave, so they try to grind you down like you're in a timeshare meeting. Many reviews say the siding they use will warp in a few years, and that they won't do anything about it. They just want to get you to finance a bunch of money for a shoddy product, and they hope you can't pay so they can collect on it. read more

I called on Sept 21, 2018 and spoke to the assistant/receptionist in great detail about what I need to done to my home. The assistant referred me to Rodney (the sales manager). After telling Rodney everything I need done to my home, he told me that someone would contact me early the following week to set up the appt I was requesting for 3-4 PM timeframe. After NO return call Friday, Sept 28th, I called at 12:30 PM leaving a message saying I wasn't sure what the hold up was and why no one had been in contact with me yet. Again, after NO return call mid-afternoon Monday, I called for a third and FINAL time. I spoke to a gentleman about talking to the sales "manager" over a week ago and no one has reached out to me yet. The gentleman stated "Rodney" has been in "meetings" and is in another "meeting". After taking down my full contact information, the gentlemen stated he eukkwill pass the information along to Rodney again...still NOTHING. I'm now moving on to a new contractor that is more than willing to MAKE the effort to put a homeowner at ease coming into winter with an older home. Farewell K-Designers...WHAT A JOKE!!! read more

very slow corp. responce to installers request for replacement glass for shipped windows that were recieved busted. Lived with boards in glass holes over a month. Sceens were very difficult to slide open and looked as if as if there is a lack of quiality control in the manufactureing process. For the highest priced quote could have saved a lot of time,greef, and money. Would NEVER!!!! recomend this Window product to a friend.They even charged $100.00 for a credit check when I told them I was paying cash? They have never yet after 6 months addressed screen problems and visual quality defects. read more

I worked with Marty S and he made it very simple for me great windows and design at a fair price. The siding installation was completed in two days but would've been longer except they called in extra installers from another completed job to help, which was much appreciated. They had much to work around as my house is from the early 1900s and did a nice job, the house looks so different! There are a few concerns which I'm going to call them about - they didn't cap off the corners around the house and some of the bottom siding pieces are not secured tightly to the house and rattle if tapped. Otherwise I'm very pleased with the installation crew, they were all very pleasant and worked until the job was completed on the second day. I'm certain the concerns I have will be adequately addressed as they had no qualms about insuring my satisfaction. read more
