the entire k&d nail salon need an deep cleaning!very unsanitary and the nail ladies do not sterilize their tools after each customer!k&d pedicure seats and foot bowls are filthy!k&d nail salon floor are sticky and filthy!the nail polish bottles on the wall are sticky and dried out have to put solutions in bottles to use polish!tina and mia constantly speak vietnamese are chinese non stop ignoring their customers when every single person in the salon spoke english!!if they want to speak their native language when they have american paying customers maybe they should do nails in china!!the reason k&d salon is so unsanitary and filthy the ladies wear high heels and club outfits they don't want to get dirty!tina and mia stations need an deep cleaning and all the workers need customer service training!!if they start ignoring you and speaking vietnamese are chinese get up and walk out!!let them sit in that filthy salon all dress up with no funds!!k&d owner clean up your nail shop are you might get a visit from the health department!!!I WOULD HATE RATED A BIG FAT TRIPLE ZERO read more

Wish there was a way to give it no stars. I should have known better since this place was in the hood... but it's close to work so I figured I would give it a try. So here goes: I am in the middle or the worst and shortest pedicure I have EVER had. Put feet in water just long enough to take polish off each side, ran the buffer along the sides of my feet for 15 second and the slapped cheap cold lotion on my legs and squished her gloves around for 30 seconds. Felt like she was rubbing limp hot dogs on me. Wow I have never ever had worse!!!! Currently drying near a space heater... This place is dirty, ghetto, and terrible! Was hoping to find somewhere on lunch I could rely on to relax... This place is not it! Here is the kicker... the price board said $18 for a pedicure... and she says ok $19. I asked why and she said oh no $18. I hand over my card and she says oh it's $1 to use your card so $19. Yeah NEVER EVER going back. This has to be the worst nail shop in Sacramento. read more

This wX the worst mabu/pedi I've had!!! I just had them done. And the paint is already chipping off. The paint job was very inferior streaks and all. I don't think she used any kind of antibacterial soap. I saw they only water rinsed the foot tubs. They reused towels and rags and tools were reused. She also pretended to clip my cuticles barely touching the skin. I rushed home washed with antibacterial soap and cleaned my cuticles up. I made it look great. Never again. read more

I came here about a week ago and this is how my nails were done. They were done poorly and rushed. This has happened twice now. The lady missed painting parts of my nails and the fiberglass did not fill my entire nail. I told the lady and all she did was file the sides down which made it worse. Not worth the price I paid and definitely will not be returning. read more

Only got a couple of things to say this is the hood and no frills straight to the point you're not going to get a whole bunch of the latest and greatest la designs but it'll get the job done and the only girl you need to go in there and see cuz she really does take her time and do it right her name is Kim and she does your eyebrows good fa you , you're fingernail good.... Just don't ask him for no designs because it's like way back in the early 90s when we were wearing snake skins and pinky rings piercings on our nails.. remember that y'all we thought we were so fly with all our different little designs and little zoom zooms and wham whams.. so yeah that's old school and played out but everything else is all right no shade LOLlol let me stop but really she's really good at her job it's not going to be the bells and whistles it's just going to get you through in a clutch if you like have that date or interview or something.. and you know your toes are up and you on a date and you cannot go out like that she'll hook you up and make you look presentable and put together in classy not ashy.. you need to do to look put together she got your back check it out in the hood so you know it's going to be good! read more

Do not come here!! I was getting a pedicure and the person next was too, but the lady that was doing his nails made them bleed so much!!! blood everywhere!! And the lady didn't even clean the bowl nor clippers she used!!! I'm so worried for my nails! I was over charged! This place is disgusting and needs to be cleaned! read more

This was probably the worst and shortest pedicure I have ever had. My friend made an appt for both of us to get pedicures at 1:30. I walk in at 1:31 & she is having her gel polish filed off. We are told to go sit in the pedicure chairs. My friend is being helped by her technician right away. I'm sitting there until 1:53 before my technician comes to start my pedicure so we are already starting off bad. Apparently someone walked in right in front of me without an appt and got a fill. I realize I was a minute late but my friend reminded them that we had an appt and that I was about to walk in. They told her yes they know and that someone would still be available for me. Finally at 1:53 she came to fill my bowl with water. I like my water very hot and told her.... the water was barely warm even after she got water from the sink to add to it. She did a good job at cleaning the skin/cuticle area but that's it. After she cleaned my toes she immediately drained the water and proceeded to apply the gel polish. She did not scrub my feet or massage my legs at all while they were soaking. Once my toes were done curing she uses the same nail file used for nails to buffer my heel and big toe. Literally took her about 15 seconds to do this. I have never had my feet dry scrubbed before this and hopefully never again. She then gets the oil and rubs my legs if you can call it that. More like she just slaps it on and that was that. I had to use napkins I had in my car to rub the oil off because it was not rubbed into my skin. Worst experience ever. read more

I read the reviews but wanted to give it a try. Definitely do not recommend, my first and last. I was charged extra for removing the nail polish I had before. Even with that she left polish on and just added the new color. What really did it for me to not come back is... she had me dip my nails in acetone to remove the polish. Once she had finished working on me and was cleaning her area she poured the acetone I used back in her bottle. My hands are clean but WTH that's just not sanitary. Big NoNo for me! My mom wanted her nails done and coming from my personal nail lady , the lady doing my moms nails didn't do what she was suppose to . Instead of soaking the nails that my mom had perviously got from someone different, she cut them off and caused my mom a lot of pain . she also made my mom bleed on her thumb . I wouldn't recommend to come here . they also overcharged her as well. read more

I got a French tip that I wish I never had gotten. My nails came out bubbly, too thick & the lady was sooo ROUGH! :( For two days my thumb nail was sore & tender... She also was in a rush and didn't do a good job. My advice:--Don't go here! read more

There aren't very many reviews, and the ones on here aren't very good, so I thought I would chime in. I live in Elk Grove, next to a bunch of really nice, shall I say hoity-toity nail salons, but I have been coming to KD nails since around the time I found out I was pregnant with my daughter(she is 11 years old). Yes the neighborhood isn't the most desirable(ghetto, as one yelper put it) and the shop isn't fancy, but the ladies are nice, they work hard and they don't treat anyone differently. Everyone is treated the same who comes in there, and that is why they continue to get my business. They know people by name and if you are nice to them, they in return are nice to you. They are some tough little ladies, whom I've seen follow people out of their salon and demand their money if they tried to skip out on them. They can not control their surroundings, but they do run a nice respectable business. I would rather go to an establishment that may not look the best, but treats you with respect, than one which looks like they cater to queens and treat you like a pauper. 30 dollars for a face wax? Girlfriend you must grow a full beard. Ghetto? How would you know unless you lived somewhere in or around it...girl bye. By the way, they have updated all of their equipment, put down nice new flooring and have gotten a 65 inch television, sometimes businesses need time to grow. I have never gotten bad service from KD nails and I really like the place. I think people should go and see for themselves, they stay busy and packed, they don't talk you to death, their work lasts, my daughter loves her pedicures, I always love my fills and designs and I'll probably be going there until they close down. Mai is the best at pedicures and Kim is the best at nails. Please do give them a try...go early if you can, there is less traffic. read more

I just had a not so great experience at another nail shop the day prior. I was impressed by the amount of care put into what I wanted done. I believe Kim helped me she was very nice, understanding, and Profesional. There was a slight language barrier but that didn't stop her from doing exactly what I requested. I will be coming back. Thought I would give this place a try since I live in the neighborhood and I wanted to support my community. I came for a wax and was bombarded with inquiries to get a manicure. The lady seemed annoyed when I politely declined four times. I was charged $30 for a face wax and did not give her a tip. I wouldn't have a problem if the lady did a good job, but my edges are uneven and my eyebrows have a bigger arch now. I asked the lady to "clean it up" and she gave me a whole new expression. I love to keep it local and support my community, but I would rather go down the street to Florin road for better treatment and service. read more
