KCS Heating is one of Streetside contractors. They were not referred but mentioned that KCS was the one contractors in one of the South Surrey developments. I reached out and very prompt in their response. Noel McDonald is polite and responsive likewise Dana Cleeve from the admin. It heating cooling was installed as scheduled, they cleaned and vacuumed the mess and left spotless. I highly recommend this company for all your heating needs. I am very disappointed in this company. My building manager and I were involved in a dispute and I was being harassed and singled out repeatedly by him. He was also not providing me sufficient notice to enter my suite. He got Craig at K C's Plumbing & Heating to write a letter with completely false information in it saying that I assaulted the building manager! I did not assault anyone. I very calmly told the building manager that I did not give him permission to enter my suite and as I went to close the door the building manager began pushing on my door! The arbitrator at the Residential Tenancy Branch even said at our hearing 'why would you try to enter someone's home if they have said they do not want you to enter and that you don't have their permission?' Such unprofessional behaviour and you are such a liar Craig! I will never go to this company or recommend this company to anyone in the future! read more

My parent's hot water tank needed to be replaced, so I headed onto Yelp to look for a place and decided on KC Plumbing because of their fantastic review scores. Servicing things like your hot water tank and furnace aren't exactly regularly occurring things, so user experience reviews play a huge role in who I decide to go with. I called earlier last week and was able to get an appointment for Thursday morning. I was unavailable to be there while the service was taking place, but my dad was home and he said the two technicians that came were nothing short of fantastic. He said they paid attention to all the little details such as making sure the entire area was cleaned up afterwards. The carpark was a little wet and dirty from where they placed the old water tank, and my dad said they went to get the hose to wash down the area to make sure it was left in the same condition before they arrived. My dad was extremely impressed and said he was glad I chose them because they made the entire experience relatively easy. read more

The best experience I could have had. I had a leak in my ceiling on boxing day this year and called KC's. The technician walked me through how to make sure the leak had stopped and stop any further leaking over the phone, preventing a very costly home visit. When they came out a couple days later they were fast, efficient, friendly, and complete. Gave me all sorts of tips on things I could do myself, and not only fixed the bathtub leak, but future-proofed the toilet. He pointed out a few potential issues, and gave us tips on neat renovations we could do with our existing plumbing. And well priced! No gouging here. Upfront about costs, and stayed within the quote. I can't recommend them highly enough. They should 100% be your first call for plumbing issues/problems/emergencies. read more

I contacted KC's Plumbing on the basis of the great Yelp reviews and was very, very disappointed (it was early in 2015, sorry to take some time to get to this review). I had an apartment with leaks from, around or behind the taps in 2 bathtub/showers. They sent a younger plumber who was clearly way out of his depth in terms of diagnosing and repairing the problem. The issue was that the taps were installed incorrectly in the past to get around the fact that an additional layer of tile had been installed on top of the original on the walls and thus the copper piping sticking out of the wall was too short, so I think someone in the past installed part of the tap assembly backwards, which eventually caused the leak. Anyway, the sent a more experienced plumber who added a piece of pipe to one of the showers and then realized that the tap should simply be replaced in the second shower rather than go through another very messy, difficult and time consuming (hours it seemed) copper pipe addition. I had to follow up to get them to come back to install the new tap assembly because they did not call as promised, and when the plumber did come back he did not actually complete the installation, leaving the tap assembly not even screwed into the brackets at all - which I discovered after he had left (I generally assume people completely do the work that they have been hired and promised to do). I had to install the screws myself, and in addition, after asking him to clean up, I had to clean grease stains off the shower walls, bathtub and bathroom floor. Not very professional. Though they only charged me for the more experienced plumber, it could have been a much simpler and less costly job, done more professionally. I would not recommend them. read more

Plumber Jeff was friendly and patient with my mom, who doesn't speak English very well. Also conscientious about avoiding any unnecessary costs by pointing out costs and alternative procedures. HOWEVER -- 1.5 hour minimum charge, so it's better to call them only for more serious issues. If it turns out to be a short job, you're still gonna be billed for 90 mins. ALSO -- There is a standard $15 "enviro fee" charge which "covers everything from gas, drop cloths, gloves, booties, and teflon tape". read more

I chose these guys based on Roanna S.'s review. Also this was the highest reviewed plumbing entry on Yelp so it was a no brainer. It was Sunday and my old faucet was having issues with me right in the middle of my baking project. Kudos to the guy I am dating whom tried to help over the phone and good old Google but the problem was clearly larger than what it seemed (so it was in my mind). I called the emergency line and got a call back within 30 minutes from the technician. Being Sunday I had to pay over time which I was fine with. I was given the quote of $191 over the phone. The technician came within an hour which I was extremely grateful for as I am sure that he has a family that he would rather be with on a Sunday. The issue turned out to be bigger than anticipated which means that there was an estimated $500 - $600 in repairs that needed to be done. Because the technician couldn't do anything on site he didn't charge me the visiting free which was awesome. Communication from beginning to end since the first initial call was remarkable and one of the best customer service experiences that I've encountered in the trades thus far. The scheduler was even kind to think of me when an earlier appointment become available. The thought and consideration in this still went miles for me. The technician was extremely friendly, patient and worked very professionally. He didn't mind that I gave him space as I just continued on with my work which allowed me to feel less stressed about the situation. I have used KC's twice now and are absolutely impressed. I have had dealings with two different KC plumbers and both have been fantastic. The first time they came and snaked my bathroom lines and the job was very thorough and so much better than another plumber I had who came and snaked the lines just the year prior. Today I had a basement toliet blockage and the job was unpleasant to say the least. The technican who came out was extremely professional and was very helpful. They recognised that this job was urgent and slotted me in their already tight schedule. And when the job took a lot longer than expected they stayed here until it was fixed rather than telling me to reschedule which has happened with other trades before. KC's handled my furnace issue incompetently, with potentially serious carbon monoxide implications. All they want is their money for multiple service calls that didn't fix my furnace where they didn't check carbon monoxide levels. KC's technician came to respond to an issue with my furnace a number of times in 2016. He did a significant amount of work, but the issue remained unresolved. The last time he came to try again to resolve the issue, he urgently advised me that the the issue that whole time was that the heat exchanger was cracked, that the carbon monoxide level in the air was extremely high and he tagged the furnace to be shut down. Of course, this explained why we were feeling sick with headaches. My son is still experiencing health issues. Any technician should have discovered the carbon monoxide issue immediately, and not after four service calls. Instead, he tinkered around, made a number of expensive repairs and talked way too much (it appeared he was talking to add time to his invoice). I actually had difficulty getting him to stop talking so I could get on with my day. I advised KC's that I would not be paying the last invoice they sent me. However, they never addressed the issue, but rather continue to demand payment, and recently sent me a letter with various threats about damaging my credit rating and suing me. read more

I called around before going with KC. I wanted to see who might be the best. And although Yaletown Plumbing looked great, I emailed for a free estimate and they were twice the cost of K C's Plumbing. Now this might not be in every circumstance, but it definitely was in mine when it came to a clogged toilet. So I called KC's Plumbing and one of the best Plumber's I've ever met, Cory, arrived. I knocked a hard plastic bottle into my toilet while it was flushing and it got stuck really high up. I used every tool and trick I could find on YouTube for a week without any success. Cory definitely did sweat over this one, literally. But he wasn't going to leave any man behind.lol. He was determined and stubborn to get it out. He did prepare me mentally in case it couldn't come out. And I knew, thanks to my research, that it was in the most common spot where normally people say, "just replace the whole toilet." But in the last few minutes, success! Even if he didn't get it out, I would have given this company a 5/5 review. His friendliness and easy-going ways is so important for customer service. He didn't mind me or the landlord watching over him the entire time either and kept us entertained with his great sense of humor and stories. This company is top notch! My landlord is very picky and she has just decided to throw out the card of her last Plumber and go with KC, but only if Cory comes by.lol. Honestly, if you need something done on a budget but have it done as if money weren't an object, this is the place to go. They are honest, fast and are there to fix your problem, not have you take out a second mortgage to pay for the service. read more

We had K.C. Plumbing and Heating out to deal with our hot water heater that started leaking one morning last week. As fate would have it, it was on a Saturday, right in the middle of the Victoria Day weekend. The gentleman who was on emergency duty was very professional. He explained that there would be an overtime or holiday weekend charge that we fully expected. We chose to wait until the Tuesday to save some money. When we mentioned that the tank was only 5 years old, he asked for the model and serial number so as to see if it was under warranty. Much to our delight, on Tuesday the office staff informed us that it was and that they could come that morning to replace the tank. They sent two young men (one was named Josh). Great guys! Very clean-cut, friendly and professional. In about 2.5 hours I was equipped with a brand new tank, hot water and everything put neatly back in place. So this happened...Someone- not saying who!- accidentally flushed their iPhone down the toilet - I can't even begin to comprehend how one does that! But I digress... Needless to say it was an all-in unfortunate series of events. However due to the honest hard work and dedication from the technician of K.C. Pluming,an otherwise FML horrendously annoying situation was swiftly resolved. Cody our technician was truly amazing not only at retrieving the iPhone that was clogging our toilet - with all the hard work that that entailed-but he was also very professional and efficient. He quite frankly made our "OMG did that just happen" situation disappear and the interim entirely bearable. Hopefully we won't require their services anytime soon but if we do, we will most definitely contact them again. As they have proven to us that an honest, professional and reliable work ethic is what we can expect. The plummer, Craig, and his helper, Chris, were very nice and respectful. They showed up in very good time and finished just as quickly. Wow what a great start to the Victoria long weekend. Having our toilet clog up and overflow our washroom. So of course I was in a panic state and looked around for people to call to get this sorted out. I stumbled onto KC and gave them a call, unfortunately they were my second choice after Yaletown Plumbing Service, which on a long weekend are closed and unreachable. So I gave KC a call and within an hour had Craig come over and fix this clog as well as answer any questions I had about plumbing. Wow what a great guy. Even in my panic state he calmed me down and walked me through this entire process and any ways I could prevent this from happening in the future. He even tried to reclog the toilet and fix any problems it still had, he even went as far as replacing the fill valve which I never knew was leaking water. Thank you KC plumbing I am impressed with the customer service. I only wished that it didn't cost $273 for an hours work (time and a half, holiday), but I guess that's reasonable for such great service. All in all I would use KC again if I had any problems in the future. Its quick and hassle free and who knows you might even learn a thing or two in the process. read more

Long overdue review due to Yelp account issues... I had a runny toilet which the prior plumber "fixed" but the fix didn't last a long time. KC Plumbing showed up early and within 15 min replaced the whole flushing mechanism explaining why the first fix failed. Wish I used Yelp the first time! They were professional, fast (much faster than the first time this was attempted), and an itemized invoice with detailed description was provided. Definitely recommend using them and they are on my contact list for future plumbing jobs. read more

We had a backed up garbage disposal that I attempted to fix myself, which did not go well. In the end I ended up cracking a pipe under the sink. We found K C's Plumbing on Yelp and called fully expecting that it would led be a couple of days before they could come out. Fortunately they had a same day opening. The plumber arrived on time, was friendly, efficient and tidy. In no time at all he had cleared the clog, removed the garbage disposal, cleaned up after himself and was on his way. I also found their pricing extremely reasonable. Fingers crossed that we won't need a plumber again anytime soon but I will definitely call K C's again the next time the need arises. read more

"Bob," from K.C.'s, was extremely respectful, professional and efficient. He came with a day's notice, worked quickly and we paid exactly what they quoted us. He even advised us on a possible gas leak from a fireplace in another part of the house. We already knew about it but it was nice of him to make sure we knew. We had called two other companies before K'C's. The first didn't even show up (!) and when we called they said they couldn't reschedule until the following week. The second came and they would have charged us more than double the price of KC's and even though they did NOT have the part needed to fix the boiler, they wanted to charge us the hourly fee for 10 minutes of examining the boiler! (Hillcrest) They said they charged per hour or PORTION of...They said they had to order the part and then come back again, charging the hourly rate again! I was really impressed with the prompt, honest and professional service from K'C's - could not be happier! read more

I was happy with the service, but unhappy with the billing. The plumber was on site for 1.5 hours and we documented that. However, they charged us for 2 hours. They state because of paperwork and setting up/cleaning up. I had specifically asked before the service was dispatched about the charges for time. They said they charge for the time worked. I'm disappointed that such a good experience would turn sour because of trying to charge me extra for "parking and paperwork" which I think is unfair. I will commend the work done, but please review what you tell customers on the phone so that we do not have expectations that are different. Katrina was good in explaining the costs afterwards, but refused to consider a compromise. Will not use again unfortunately as this is not a transparent company that does not focus on customer satisfaction. read more

Left, went to the shop, came back an hour later. Still kept charging me. 3) Next, one technician entered my downstairs and took a huge dump in my toilet, without flushing. 4) Then, they charged me $100+ for a 5 min "additional labour" to repair my upstairs tank part. I went with K C's due largely to the reviews here on yelp. We had quite a bit of plumbing work done and I would not use this company again. All of the faucets that were installed had leaks requiring them to come back. A toilet was installed improperly, requiring multiple visits until they discovered that they hadn't installed a wax seal!!! My appointments were often bumped for emergency calls, which was particularly frustrating when I took time off work to be there. Would definitely look elsewhere for a plumber, particularly for a large project. I don't even want to know how much extra we paid for our work because of their scheduling problems and incompetent service. read more

The first time we used Kc it was for a minor plumbing issue a "jammed Garborator " . The on call plumber came with in the hr & fixed in in minutes . The more recent problem was our sewer backing up in our basement sink . It was Easter Friday ( double) time the guy came & could do nothing but charged us anyway . We were told not to use our toilet ,sink anything . The next day ( sat ) two guys from there company came & tried unsuccessfully to snake out the line . Charged us time & 1/2 even though some one wrote they charge the regular rate on sat ? They claimed the line had Collapsed at the front of property due to tree roots. We still couldn't use our plumbing .the bill was now at close to a $1000 . We decided to move on to a different company . It was becoming apparent to me that this problem was way out of there expertise . In the end the city of Vancouver came with the correct equipment ( a camera that could go under water ) Kc didn't have this. The city blew out the line by hooking up a powerful water flushing machine . Our line hadn't Collapsed . I wouldn't recommend them for sewer wk . I am so disappointed in KC Plumbing! While the plumber did a fine job they charged more than they quoted and were very late in invoicing. I called twice in advance of moving forward with KC Plumbing to review the work that I needed done and I was told that I would be charged a rate of $85/hour. I was told that one plumber would do the work. They ended up sending a plumber and his apprentice. Then they charged me for the apprentice's work. Classic scam artist play. My husband was at the house the whole time and said that only one plumber did work. The other fellow just watched and asked questions. They took almost two weeks to send an invoice. I had to call them repeatedly. I will not hire them again given their poor business practices. This is such a shame as they did good work. read more

Although we rent this place, our landlord was out of town, so finding plumbing help was our responsibility. We wanted to get a reliable service, so we ended up on Yelp and found these guys. They showed up when promised (good!). I figured it would be economical to have them look at a second plumbing issue (leaky hose) while on site but in the end it worked against us - the tool they brought to unplug our drain was not long enough so they had to phone a colleague to get a longer one. I am not sure what would happen normally (I would expect not to pay for waiting for them to bring a tool that should have came in the first place) but since I'd asked them to fix a second issue (a leaky kitchen sprayer hose), they moved onto fixing that. After struggling for 1.5h on the hose, the other tool showed. They then unplugged the drain in a reasonable amount of time and then spent another 45'-1h on the hose issue before wrapping up. A final point of annoyance was that they showed up with 2 guys when I was told (and quoted) one guy - a difference of $45/h for a guy who did a lot of standing around. In summary, if you ignore the forgotten tool, they took care of our plugged drain effectively. However, I was not pleased with the addition of the extra help, without my consent; overlooking a necessary tool for a job (a rooter snake for a basement drain?!); 2.5h and two guys to fix a leaky sprayer hose on a kitchen sink?! Those are my concerns, you be the judge if you want to make them yours! :) read more
