I remember looking for a Korean place to eat since we were in the area, and we found K-BOB. The restaurant itself is a cute little mom and pop; however, there isn't a lot of seating inside since the space is small. There's a kiosk to order from their menu, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I really like their onigiri and japchae whenever we're nearby. I highly recommend coming here!
I ordered the bibimbop and also three kimbap (original and 2 vegetarian). Everything is freshly made. Easy to order on the machine and I only waited a few minutes on a Saturday night for my order. Extremely friendly there. There are picnic tables to eat outside or you can grab it to go. Food was tasty and will go back again for my takeout.
I've not been here for a while and one thing impressed me the most was the server, a teenager who speaks both English and Korean. I ordered the bipmimbab, the portion was huge but I didn't like the beef, it was mince instead of slices. The server was very attentive and I saw him patiently answering customers questions about the food and he kept checking on them if they have allergies. Before we walked out of the restaurant, he bowed straight 90 degrees and said Thank you!!!
What a cute little mom and pop gimbap shop. We popped in here for a quick bite to eat after doing some shopping at the Sports Basement in the same plaza since we were craving Korean food. The young man at the front was super helpful in giving us some recommendations on what was vegetarian and what could be adjusted to be vegetarian. He was super informative. We wound up getting a vegetarian bibimbap, vegetarian gimbap, and one original flavor. Food came out super quick and you could tell from the crispness of the veggies that everything was super fresh. We loved the refreshing flavors and the huge portions. If we are in the area again we will be back!
I've been ordering here for lunch a couple times, and decided to try their platter for a party. The woman in the front is always so kind, and the food is always ready on time when I order ahead. Would definitely recommend, their kimbap is beautiful and delicious (especially with the wasabi mayo sauce it comes with) and the ratio of filling to rice is incredibly generous. I've also tried their triangles and they're delicious as well, and convenient for a quick snack or meal.
This small restaurant was the perfect place for a casual lunch. It's located in the same area as the Sports Basement. Parking is very easy in the shared lot. They have some indoor and outdoor seating, but it's probably better as a takeout spot. Ordering is through a panel on the left side once you enter. Food takes a little while to get to you, but it is all made fresh. I got the Bibim Bob ($19). This came beautifully plated, and all of the veggies were cut to exactly the right size. The flavors were pretty well balanced, not too sweet, not too salty, and not too spicy. Portion size was pretty good and I had a little bit to take home. Note: the bottom is not crunchy rice. DH got the Hwae Dup Bob ($22) and really enjoyed it too. This dish is basically like poke on top of a bunch of salad greens and various finally shredded vegetables. It is eaten with a delicious Korean chili sauce. There is an option to order it with salmon only instead of mixed fish. I wished this had slightly more seasoning, like maybe a bit of sesame oil and raw garlic to give it some zing. Miso soup was included in these two orders, and it was excellent. Served hot and nice strong flavors. The people we interacted with were very friendly and nice. We would love to go back someday to try some of their Kim Bob, Korean rice rolls.
The kimbap here is generously portioned. I ordered the spicy beef one and loved that the filling was equally balanced with meat, burdock root, carrots, and egg. Knocked a star off since I was expecting it to have a spicy kick, but the kimbap itself was a bit on the sweet side. I would've loved more dipping sauce options since I was not a fan of the mayo-heavy wasabi one that was given. Overall, a solid spot and I'll be back again!
Absolutely delicious! So fresh and healthy. LIsa, the owner/manager?, was so sweet and lovely. We placed a catering order the day before. The platter was GORGEOUS! My office very much enjoyed for lunch! They were wrapped so delicately. So affordable to order the tray for 4 people to share. Thank you!!!
I still come here for lunch. I still love their food. I still love the lady that works there, and more i love that they grow their own peppers which you can see in the front.
Quick, casual, and inexpensive. You can order online and eat in person if you change your mind about wanting to take it to go. The service here is great, the staff are all very kind. The kimbap rolls are THICK and the wasabi mayo it comes with compliments it very well. I would definitely return in the future for a quick bite.
Always support a mom n pop shop! The food is good and business is small. Perfect place to meet with someone and have a conversation that isn't as bustling with noise like a cafe. Ample parking. Also a couple outdoor tables to use on a nice day. Kiosk for ordering food was very user friendly. Service was friendly and fast.
We have been back multiple times since, never a bad experience. Still the best and so worth the price. Things are made fresh, the kimbap is amazing. Shocked spicy tuna could be this good from a little Korean spot. We saw a big group in there get a feast of different kinds of kimbap and tons of other menu items and it looked like a fun way do it. The service is always fast, kind staff. We have yet to order something we don't like. Small place, a handful of seats inside and tables outside.
I decided to stop by with my friend since we were in the area for the afternoon. I had this bookmarked for a while now since I love kimbaps! The store is cute and small with limited seating inside. There are also tables outside as well! My friend and I tried the LOR and beef kimbap. Both were tasty but my favorite was the LOR. The beef kimbap was more on the dry side :( I've also tried the triangles and it was yummy! Would definitely come back to try the other kimbaps and yubus! Staff is very friendly too
Reviews are largely positive. People praise the fresh, flavorful food, generous portions, and friendly, helpful staff. The clean, cozy atmosphere and easy ordering process also stand out.

Get the LOR. Don't even think about it. Every ingredient was amazing! Spicy Beef was very dry and hard to eat. Ordering online was very convenient or you can order on a kiosk, but staff seems to be eager to help. Very small shop with limited seating. Primarily a to go restaurant. read more

I finally had a chance to try out this cute little restaurant. This is tucked behind the Marketplace shopping area beside Sports Basement We've been to this restaurant when it was a different Korean spot. We enjoyed that place. Was a bit sad that it closed down. They have a kiosk to order (just 1) and a nice older Korean grandma who I think can take your order too. But most everyone just wait for the kiosk to open up. Since it looked like she's the only one working the front side. We tried several things on the menu. Spicy beef kimbap - 2.5/5 The kimbap was large but the beef flavor is lacking. It wasn't spicy at all to me and the ratio between the veggies and rice and beef were not the best. Fried shrimp triangle - 4/5 My kid enjoyed this a lot. He only ate half of the spicy beef triangle but finished this one. Spicy beef triangle - 3/5 Again the spicy beef was not spicy. It's ok but it's not the best. Caterpillar yubu - 4/5 My kid's favorite of the menu. Devoured this one in 3 bites. Wished we had ordered more of this. Spicy crunchy yubu - 4.5/5 This is my favorite. It was flavorful the ratio between the topping and rice is just right. They also have water you can ask if you dine in. You don't have to order a bottled water. Since they are I think run by only a handful of people the order can take awhile. Our order took over 20min. So keep that in mind if you're in a hurry. Order in advance. One more thing I should mention. If you sit on the table the window we noticed spider and flies. Just be aware. Overall I would rate this place 3.5* based on flavor and price. I'm rounding up because the Korean grandma is so nice. read more

I was craving kimbap & was looking for something to feed my cravings. I went here after seeing all the positive reviews photos of gracious filled kimbap I had to try. The service is pretty direct. Order & pay on the kiosk & pick up the food after they call your order. The restaurant is pretty small with having a few tables inside. The restaurant has a pretty casual ambience to it. As for the food I got the Vegetable kimbap & salmon yuba. Both were delicious. The vegetable kimbap was filled with a great amount of ingredients in each roll. The ingredients were fresh & delicious. read more

This place is awesome! This is our 3rd visit. Our 1st and 2nd visits were on the same day, this is how much we liked it. We visited here after a recent trip to Japan and the food reminded us of the food we had In Japan. We ordered BIBIM BOB from their over rice menu, tried few of their YUBU, the Veggie, beef, caterpillar, spicy crunchy. Loved all, especially the beef and caterpillar. We also tried their triangles, spicy beef, mayo tuna, fried shrimp and kimchi. All were great. Hope this restaurant thrives and hope we can keep it in San Ramon read more

Fresh Japanese food prepared well as take-out for a family evening at home. You may also dine in the restaurant but keep in mind that it's small. Definitely beats getting McDonalds for a lazy night in. And since it's all fresh there is no guilt! read more

Food was very delicious and the ingredients were very fresh. Waitperson was very friendly and energetic. The outdoor seating area was a plus. Highly recommend this casual Korean restaurant! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 read more
What a pleasant surprise! We wanted something quick and easy, after a long day outside with the kids. Saw this place a few months ago and was excited that they had already opened. The triangles (onigiris) are the bomb! I had the spicy tuna one and it was loaded with tuna for only $5.5 and as a good onigiri, they kept the seaweed isolated from the rice with the traditional onigiri wrap, which kept the seaweed crunchy and avoided what for me is the worst thing in an onigiri, soggy seaweed! We had the spicy beef and original kimbabs, both were really good. It's a full meal, with rice, protein and vegetables. I particularly enjoy the crunchy texture that the veggies give you. My wife had their bibimbap and it was a massive portion of veggies and meat. My only feedback will be that the rice portion wasn't enough, for such a large portion of veggies and meat, we definitely needed a second bowl of rice. Cashier was friendly and even gave my son a mini Yakult. Will definitely come back! read more
Please turn out to be a great pic for a team lunch. Very much enjoyed the service from the entry. Pleasant and polite greeting, food delivery to your table, inside and outside seating. Modern design from the inside with technology up-to-date ordering machine waiting for you. Followed the owners recommendation with the BIBIM BOB and hit it right on with the amount and taste. Will definitely drop by next time in the area to explore the rest of the menu. read more
K-BOB opens where Brothers Kitchen was. 2 tables for seating inside. Dozens of tables outside. Order on kiosk or at counter. Minimal decor. Offerings: Kimbob, sides, over rice, Triangles (seaweed wrapped filled with choice of protein & rice), Yubu (fried bean curd fill with protein choice), drinks Eats: Spicy Beef Kimbob (12) -freshly made to order seaweed wrapped roll with short grain rice, eggs, daikon, carrot, sesame seed, cucumber and grilled ground beef. Spicy aioli on side. -tasted not very spicy, fresh, slightly different taste from what usually experienced due to absence of msg. *good for a snack, not enough of a meal (for me). Takeouts: -good quality food. Doubtful repeat cuz I seldom eat rice. Dietary reasons not a major reason. read more

Initially I thought the bibimbap was a little pricey compared to other Korean places but it was definitely well worth the few extra bucks. The portion was very generous and flavorful. Each item was fresh, crispy and some items like the daikon and mushrooms were nicely marinated. We ordered online and included a special instruction to cook the egg which is exactly what they did. The kimbap was huge filled with yummy ingredients and nicely wrapped and displayed. Definitely a new favorite. Looking forward to trying other menu items. Btw, the menu photos don't do it justice. Also my photo is showing the 2nd bimbap with regular egg. read more
Korean Gimbap has finally arrived in San Ramon! Gimbap is one of my favorite foods for snacking - basically seaweed-wrapped rice rolls packed with cooked meats, seafood, and pickled veggies. Similar to maki-style sushi, but you'll find Gimbap rolls to be larger and more filling. Perfect for picnics, quick snacks, or munching in a theater. K-Bob takes over from Brothers' Kitchen in the space next to Shish Grill and Market. Its pretty small and seems better designed for takeout. Besides different styles of Gimbap they also offer excellent rice triangles and Yubu, sweet tofu rice wraps. Being a first time visitor, I ordered a number of items: * Philly Beef Gimbap - good flavors and I do think cream cheese and beef work here. My only issue is that the rolls tended to fall apart on me. (3 stars) * Kimchi Triangle - I would have liked more spiciness here (3 stars) * Spicy Beef Triangle - Definite tasty and didn't fall apart (4 stars) * Spicy Salmon Yubu - My favorite dish - like a giant Inari Nigiri sushi but they managed to pack salmon and avocado slices in. Sweet, savory, spicy, and crunchy (4 stars) Why 3 stars? I think they're relatively new and need to work on speed. My order took 20 minutes and I could tell other customers had a long wait too. The food is good though, so definitely will visit again. Its closer to me than driving to Dublin for Sodam (excellent Gimbap, though all premade) or Angus the Butcher (The claim to offer Gimbap but its never there when I visit). read more
Not to be mistaken with kabobs, K-BOB serves an entirely different type of cuisine (Korean) and a niche subtype of Korean food at that. K-BOB dishes out kimbap, a sushi-esque roll commonly found in street markets or food stalls. There's not a lot of Bay Area spots that do kimbap, so I was surprised but delighted to discover their recent arrival. A bit off the beaten path, K-BOB is easy to miss and tucked away in a small strip mall across the Trader Joe's. Unlike other kimbap places, K-BOB's rolls, onigiris, and yubu pockets are all made-to-order. The rolls are generously filled with quality ingredients. I ordered the Philly Cheese which was fine. Though I don't always appreciate cream cheese in my sushi rolls, I welcomed and even liked the cream cheese addition to the kimbap. The inauthentic ingredient added a nice decadence and savoriness to the otherwise authentic dish. My only qualm with this place is the single-use packaging and steep prices. My go-to place for kimbap charges $7 and comes with twice the amount of rolls. Other than that, I'd head here as the ingredient experimentation and whimsical variety of rolls sets K-BOB apart from the rest. read more

We were effusively greeted when we came in. The cashier was very enthusiastic. He recommended several items and checked on the ingredients when we mentioned allergies. The restruant itself was clean and comfortable. It is brightly lit. There are tables both inside and out. We chose two rolls. They were about 2 - 2 1/2 inches in diameter. They were messy to eat. I felt they were dry. We were surprised to realize the tuna was tuna fish (like you get in a can). The special sauce was very mild and I could not tell it had wasabi in it. The Yubu looked good but we did not try them. Maybe other items on the menu would have been better choices for us. read more

A local San Ramon spot for Korean kimbap. I ordered the beef kimbap (non spicy) and spam and egg triangle kimbap. Both were delicious and my takeout order was done in about 5 minutes. The guy taking my order gave me some recommendations when I wasn't sure what to order, and suggested I try their "yubu" tofu skin wrapped rice and meat. Looks interesting! He also said they got a big lunch rush earlier in the day, so turn around time when they get busy may not be as rapid as 5 mins. read more
I think the word I would describe this place is -- addictive! First time i tried the shrimp triangles-- omg! I almost didn't want to do my errands for that morning. I wanted to stay and order more food instead. Well the piggy that I am, I rushed through my errands and hurried back to KBob to order my 2nd round of gimbap triangles before their afternoon break. Then the following weekend my husband and I did the same thing... came by and grabbed morning/after lunch snacks then ordered more for late afternoon snacks before they closed for break. My favorite are the shrimp triangles... what will yours be? Oh yeah, pro tip: don't take the triangle rice out of the wrapper, follow the 1, 2, 3 instructions on the wrapper! 1. Pull the strand of plastic down all the way to the backside of the triangle 2. Pull the plastic to the side 3. Pull the other plastic to the other side Voila~! You have a nicely wrapped triangle without the insides going all over the place. They also play some cool kpop tunes if you are into that! read more

Came here for lunch on a Friday. The young man behind the counter noticed we were newbies and made recommendations. I took his advice and went with the traditional BibimBob. It came with miso soup and a sorta spicy/sweet sauce. It was a gigantic bowl of food and delicious. The egg was a little over cooked, but otherwise no complaints and I would totally get it again. There's only a handful of tables and bar seats inside, seating for maybe 16-20 people, but there's more seating outside. It was a hot day, so they had fans running which helped a lot. The cashier was fantastic. He brought our food and utensils to the table, apologized for the wait (which really didn't seem too long), and just overall made a good impression as a hard worker who cares about his job and is doing his best for the business. Ordering is easy. You can do it at the cashier or self-service. read more

I've always been looking for a place that sells specialty and authentic kim bap rolls, as it is hard to find much variety for this specific dish. However, I stumbled upon this small but mighty popular spot as we were venturing down to San Ramon. The place is quite small but there are tables also outside to enjoy your bowl and/or rolls, weather permitting. Our server was a young man with lots of energy and it seemed like he was pretty much running the whole show at least on the front end - from greeting customers to serving tables who ordered in. Hopefully he is getting compensated well enough, as I would go crazy - especially during the lunch rush! We ordered the lord of the roll and a veggie kim bap with sea weed salad as a side. First off, portions are HUGE. These pieces are not skimping out on fresh ingredients either. The lord of the roll was very impressive - comprising of salmon, spicy tuna, crab meat, fried shrimp, avocado, pickled radish, egg, cucumber, and carrots. It's amazing how much they fit into such thin slices and yet it ends up being so filling, I could only finish about 3/4 of it! The sea weed salad is your typical side dish but still tasted very fresh and delicious. The one thing I should add is if you do end up dining in, there are no restrooms to use, which could be of inconvenience to some people. But overall, had a great experience and would not mind returning! read more
My first time having such a high quality gimbap. It was packed with filling. The ingredients tasted fresh and the flavor was on point. At first I was taken back by high expensive the gimbaps are here compared to other places but I think it's definitely worth the price for the portion and the quality ingredients after I tried it. The poke was aesthetically well presented and delicious as well. The food here was too pretty and it will make you want your phone to eat first before you do. Service was okay and the staff was nice. The only downside is that there was no AC nor fan on a day of 90 degrees when I came. I recommend getting take out instead of dinning in. read more

Cute little lunch spot. They have a lot of easy to eat options. I wish the kiosk showed the combos because after the fact I noticed if you ordered 4 inaris you get a miso soup. I also wish I had some sauce but I ordered to go and didnt think to ask. I would go back to try their kimbap! read more
Happy with all the items I've gotten. The store was clean and service was very warm and friendly. Ordering was simple and straight forward through a self-service kiosk with a touch screen. Yubu(fried sweet tofu skin stuffed with rice) - Tried the Veggie(burdock, cucumber, carrot, pickled radish), Beef(beef, jalapeno pickle, green onion), Caterpillar(imitation crab meat, avocado, tobiko) and Spicy Crunchy(spicy tuna, cucumber and flakes). The Yubu items were on the pricey side but they were quite unique and not that easily found in the area. I was happy with everything other than the Caterpillar as the imitation crab meat used wasn't the best quality and tasted more artificial than usual. Fish Over Rice(assorted fish, seaweed salad, carrot, cucumber, purple/green cabbage, radish, spring mix, lettuce, quail egg, tobiko). This was the best item I ordered. The portion was generous and everything was so fresh! Not only pretty to look at but tasty too. It came with two sauces(one was a slightly spicy sweet red sauce, the other was a wasabi mayo). Both sauces were delicious and definitely lifted the dish to the next level. What's more, the dish was healthy and light so definitely a wonderful choice. Kim Bob(Original) - The photo speaks for itself. Colorful yummy goodness. It could have been even better if the rice was less soft/mushy. Great first experience! Would definitely return especially for the fantastic Fish Over Rice. read more

4.5 stars for the food. K-Bob takes over the space that was Brothers Korean on the outside circle of San Ramon's Marketplace. The interior has not changed. The menu is over simplified and basically offer versions of three items, Kimbob, rice triangles and Rice bowls. We had the poke bowl and bibimbop. Both were very good. The menu is very limited even the drinks. We dined in and the service is good. Plenty of parking in the large lot. read more
The difference between what makes a kimbap an easy hiking snack vs a substantial meal is how much filling is inside. I love the rice to filling ratio here and the ingredients taste super fresh (probably because this place is so popular and they're constantly prepping ingredients). Will have to come back with lots more people to try all the different types of rolls they have! read more

Tried their rolls, yuba and the rice triangles. Will need to come back to try the rice bowls. Straight forward menu and easy ordering via app. Ordered the beef yuba, spicy crunchy yuba and salmon yuba Nice amount of filling to rice ratio, just wished that it was seasoned more. Kimbab we ordered was the spicy beef and the LOR. Kimbap rolls were huge and had a lot of filling, again it needed a bit more seasoning. LOR roll had everything in it, from salmon to spicy tuna to the spinach and egg. This was probably my favorite item out of everything we tried. Overall, the place is nice for a quick meal. read more
